Chapter 230 A Trip to Anne Studio

A whirlwind of mixed emotions churned inside Aurelia. She felt guilty towards her two children for bringing them into this world without providing them with a complete family.

The absence of a father's love had always been an emotional scar for her, and now It existed in the hearts of her two precious children as well.

Aurelia hugged Jacob and kissed his forehead.

She apologized deeply, "Jacob, I'm sorry."

Jacob seemed to understand his mother's feelings at that moment and snuggled into Aurelia's arms, comforting her like a little adult.

Jacob comforted her,"Mommy, don't be afraid. Jacob will protect you. Jacob love Mommy the most."

After putting Jacob to bed, Aurelia had a sleepless night, thinking about Nathaniel, fearing he would take her children away. Her two precious ones were her reason for living, the only thing she thought about while she was unconscious in the ICU.

The next day, as soon as Aurelia arrived at the office, her assistant Aurora brought a printed paper.

Aurelia glanced at the "resignation letter" on it and asked, "You want to resign?"

Aurora quickly explained, "Anna, I found this on Elara's desk. All her things are still there, except for this."

Elara Petrov was a designer at Anne Studio, who had joined just before the New Year and had been working for over six months.

Surprised, Aurelia said, "She didn't say anything and suddenly just didn't come in for work?"

Aurora, who was straightforward,  had always been annoyed by Elara's aloof attitude at work, spoke even more freely now that Elara was gone.

Aurora remarked, "Anna, let her go. She never fit into us anyway and didn't get along with anyone."

Aurelia was worried about the work Elara hadn't handed over, especially with one of the client's order that wasn't completed yet. The client's requirements and preferences were all recorded by Elara, and abruptly transferring it to another designer might not meet the client's expectations.

She said, "Aurora, call her again and get the client information."

"Alright," Aurora pouted and went out to make the call.

While Aurelia was looking for the almost finished design drafts from the other day, Aurora knocked and came back in.

"Anna, Elara isn't answering her phone, not even when I call from my personal phone."

Having managed the studio for four years and hired many designers, Aurelia understood what was happening. Elara probably blocked them on purpose and had likely moved to a new company.

Fortunately, she had only one client she was currently following up with.

She said, "Don't worry about it. I'll handle this."

Aurelia decided to personally take over that client's order.

Usually, the orders she handled herself were charged at a price that was least three times more than those by other designers in the studio. Without increasing the price, she suppose the client would agree for her to take over.

After Aurora left, Aurelia continued to look for her design drafts.

Caleb sent a message asking her to have dinner after work. Aurelia replied, "No time," and put her phone face down on the desk.

On Caleb's side, he stared at Aurelia response on the screen, feeling disappointed. Meanwhile, someone next to him kept talking non-stop.

Nova complained, "Bro, are you even trying? For four years and you can't even manage to invite her to a dinner date. How am I supposed to rely on you to get an opportunity to wear a jewelry designed by Anna?"

Caleb, already annoyed, said impatiently, "You just need an engagement ring. Why does it have to be designed by Anna? You know I've tried."

Nova rambled on, "It's because you're useless. I don't even know if there is another guy who chases a girl for four years and can't even get her to have a dinner date with him. If you have the guts to pursue her, you better make Anna my sister-in-law."

Caleb, furious, grabbed his coat and stormed out, leaving Nova alone in the office.

Nova was also at her wit's end, having been repeatedly rejected by Aurelia. Later, Anne Studio set up a call screen to filter out calls from Imperick's number.

She just loved the jewelry designed by Anna. Every piece matched her aesthetic perfectly.

For such a significant life event as an engagement, of course she wanted the best of everything.

In her frustration, she called Chris to complain.

Nova asked insistently, "Chris, do you have any means to convince a designer at Anne Studio to design the jewelry I want to wear for my engagement? I don't want to wear any other brand."

Chris was in a meeting when he saw the call from his fiancée. He immediately paused the meeting and stepped out to answer her call.

"Nova, what is this Anne Studio?" Chris asked, clueless.

Nova stomped her foot and pouted, "Ugh, I knew it was useless to talk to you. You don't even know what Anne Studio is!"

Chris rubbed his forehead in frustration. He admitted he was an old-fashioned man and had been trying to change, making an effort to pay attention to things women liked.

But he had never heard of Anne Studio.

He said, "Hold on, let me look it up."

Even though Chris was indeed old-fashioned, but he was self-aware and willing to change, which was why Nova couldn't stay mad at him.

Nova demanded leaving no leeway, "I don't care what you do. I want to wear jewelry designed by Anne Studio at my engagement ceremony. Figure it out."

Nova made her demand clearly. Dealing with an old-fashioned man, if you beat around the bush, you'd only end up frustrating yourself.

Chris, having received his "orders," hung up and returned to the meeting room, asking a group of IT guys, "Has anyone heard of Anne Studio?"

The men in the meeting room looked at each other until someone couldn't help but ask, "Chris, is it a new startup? What project are they working on? Do they have any impressive open-source technology?"

Chris's face stiffened in disappointment. Asking these computer geeks was pointless. He might as well ask his brothers instead.

Chris turned and called Nathaniel,"Nathaniel, have you heard of Anne Studio?"

Nathaniel thought it sounded familiar. After a moment, he remembered that four years ago, he had asked Zack to get their contact information. He hadn't forgotten because the studio's work style was on par with Lolly's from back in the day, even matching her level. The designer's last name was Semona.

Once, while on a business trip to Coral Bay, he had even visited the studio, but unfortunately, the designer was out, and he didn't get to meet her. The matter was then left unresolved.

Not knowing what Chris meant, he responded, "It's a private custom jewelry studio with a good design style. Why are you asking?"

Chris answered honestly, "Nova insists on wearing jewelry from that studio for our engagement, but they won't take her order. She wants me to figure it out, so I thought I'd ask you first."

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, impressed, and said, "Your fiancée has good taste. The jewelry from that studio is indeed exceptional. I'm in Coral Bay right now. Do you need me to visit them for you?"
