Chapter 436 Can Be Both Gentle and Strong

Aurelia asked, "Have you kept this number active all along?"

Nathaniel hummed in response. He had just arrived at the office in the morning when he heard the ringtone from his briefcase. He usually didn't answer calls on this phone.

Seeing the familiar number on the caller ID, he couldn't resist answering.

"Your old phone is with me. I had it repaired. Other than some paint chipping off the case and a screen replacement, it's not damaged."

He spoke honestly, not daring to hide anything.

Aurelia's breath hitched as she recalled events from four years ago. "The stuff on that phone..."

"Everything's still there."

"Can you return the phone to me at noon?"

Nathaniel was silent for a few seconds on the other end of the line.

"Aurelia, can't you at least let me keep this one thing?"

This phone had been with him for four years. Countless sleepless nights, he would open the recordings in her private Facebook account until the phone ran out of battery.

Only by listening to the heartbeats of their two babies did he feel not so far from them.

He had gotten used to it over these four years. Even if he found her again, during his sleepless nights, he was accustomed to taking out the phone to listen and look at her pregnancy diary.

Aurelia took a deep breath and asked, "You've seen everything?"

"Aurelia, this was my only sense of participation as a father in those years. You should have told me as soon as you found out."

They had an unspoken agreement not to bring up the past after reuniting, but Nathaniel couldn't hold back. He was reluctant to give up that phone.

After he finished speaking, both of them fell silent. He apologized, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. Aurelia, can you let me keep the phone?"

He knew that even in the closest relationships, there should be space for each other, but he really didn't want to return that phone.

After a long silence, Aurelia relented, "Keep it."

"Alright, let's have lunch together."

Nathaniel breathed a sigh of relief, as happy as a child who had just received a treasure.

Aurelia had a busy day, and as it was nearing the end of the workday, Caleb called.

"Aurelia, Phoenix is free tonight. I've arranged for us to have dinner together. Are you available?"

Aurelia replied, "Sure, let me know the place. I'll cover the bill."

Caleb didn't respond immediately but sent an address half an hour later.

Aurelia sent a message to Nathaniel, telling him she had dinner with the spokesperson tonight and couldn't accompany him.

She took out a mirror to touch up her makeup. Aurora came in holding some items, cautiously asking, "Anna, could you be so kind as to take your capable assistant with you? I can help you drink, carry your bag, and be your driver!"

Aurelia glanced at her, knowing Aurora was a fan of Phoenix. She looked so eager.

"Alright, you can come with me. But don't tell anyone outside. This dinner is privately arranged by Mr. Sinclair, and I can only bring one person."

Aurora was so happy she almost jumped up, exclaiming, "Long live Anna!"

Aurora eagerly took Aurelia's car keys to act as the driver.

Aurelia couldn't help but remind her, "When you see Phoenix, don't lose your composure. We are the clients. No matter how popular he is, he's just a spokesperson. Keep your stance and don't lose your dignity!"

Aurora nodded, "Got it."

"Don't ask for an autograph during dinner. Wait until after."

"Got it."

"Are you even listening?"Aurora turned her head during a red light, "Anna, but he's a god! I'm so excited right now."

"This collaboration was arranged by Mr. Sinclair, and we owe him a big favor."

Aurelia felt her assistant's current state of mind wasn't suitable for driving, but fortunately, the destination was just past the next intersection.

When Aurelia arrived at the private room five minutes early, Caleb was already there, along with someone who looked like a manager, but Phoenix himself was not in sight.

Caleb greeted her, "Ms. Semona, please sit here."

In formal settings, he changed his usual way of addressing her, and Aurelia almost didn't recognize it.

Caleb introduced, "This is Phoenix's manager. Phoenix himself went to the restroom and will be here shortly. Let's start ordering."

As he spoke, the restroom door in the private room opened, and out came a tall young man with a somewhat cute appearance.

Phoenix was momentarily stunned upon seeing Aurelia. He didn't know what he was thinking, but he was lost in thought for a few seconds.

Caleb introduced, "Phoenix, this is Ms. Semona from Karma Jewelry, our collaborator. You two should communicate well. From now on, you can contact each other directly, and I won't have to arrange meetings for you."

Phoenix snapped out of it and extended his hand, "Ms. Semona, nice to meet you."

Aurelia had looked up Phoenix online. Fans described him as both gentle and strong. At first glance, she found him a bit cute, but after hearing his voice, she understood why people said he could be both gentle and strong.

His voice was pleasant, deep, and magnetic, like the voice of a domineering CEO in an audiobook, with a sense of authority.

She extended her hand and greeted him politely, making their acquaintance.

Phoenix didn't return to his manager's side but sat down next to Aurelia. "What concept does your jewelry design aim to express?"

"The concept of Karma Jewelry is eternal love. We hope every woman who receives our jewelry also receives a sweet love."

"Ms. Semona, you must be a happy person in life, with such a warm brand concept."

Aurelia smiled politely, "Not too bad."

As they spoke, the waiter began to serve the dishes.

In Aurelia's mind, celebrities usually wouldn't be so friendly with ordinary people, but this one seemed different. Throughout the meal, he kept serving her food.

Whenever she ate more of a particular dish, he would turn it towards her, not caring at all about his boss sitting next to him, focusing entirely on her.

The meal felt like a family dinner.

Phoenix didn't let Aurelia drink, but he had some himself. As the dinner was about to end, he went to the restroom again.

The manager glanced over and followed, "Ms. Semona, Mr. Sinclair, I'll go check on him. This guy doesn't usually drink much."

In the restroom, Phoenix was crouched by the toilet, throwing up.

After vomiting, he leaned against the sink, staring blankly.

The manager scolded him as usual, "You know your own drinking capacity, yet you still drank too much."

Phoenix chuckled softly, "Demetrius, I don't drink often, but I was in a strangely good mood today and couldn't resist."

The manager handed him a tissue, "Clean yourself up. Did you take a liking to her?"

Phoenix was puzzled and responded with a 'huh?'

The manager continued to complain, "I've never seen you so enthusiastic with anyone before, talking so much with Ms. Semona, serving food, and constantly glancing at her. Do you think I didn't notice?"
