Chapter 156 Arranging Experts to Check Her Heart
From Chelsea's angle, she could see Nathaniel standing tall with a cold gaze at the door. She glanced at Norman and felt extremely embarrassed.
"Dad, stop it," she said.
Norman was still reveling in the joy that Chelsea was carrying the firstborn of the Heilbronn family's long-awaited son, completely oblivious to Nathaniel's arrival.
"Why should I stop? All family estates are passed down to sons. Since I don't have a son, if I had one, I would..." At this point, the expressions of the people in the room turned sour.
Norman realized he had misspoken, revealing his true thoughts.
"Chelsea, rest assured. You will becomeMrs. Heilbronn. In the future, remember to help me in business. Say a few good words to Nathaniel. Sart a business without backgrond is too difficult. At this stage, success in the company relies on socializing at banquets, which inevitably involves drinking. My stomach is almost perforated from alcohol."
Chelsea's face darkened at this moment. She had always thought Norman was most fond of her and never refuse her requests. She never expected that he was only so close to her because there was no male heir in the family. If there were a boy, then Chelsea wouldn't matter much in this family. She wouldn't get a share of his company.
Looking at Nathaniel at the door, she feared Norman might say something inappropriate at any moment and hurriedly spoke up, "Nathaniel, you came so quickly."
She had just finished the call a few minutes ago and saw him standing at the door.
The joy in Chelsea's heart at this moment couldn't be contained. Norman seemed right; though men might not mention it, they all desired a son deep down.
Nathaniel must have known she was carrying a boy in her belly, dropping everything to rush over.
His attention made Chelsea feel that enduring her morning sickness was worthwhile!
Norman saw Nathaniel and felt a bit embarrassed.
At this moment, Chelsea felt nauseous again, and before she could speak, she vomited. Maria quickly pushed the trash can over to her, and Chelsea emptied her stomach of the snacks she had just eaten.
Norman chuckled. "Boys are troublemakers. Well, at least the child will be lively!"
Nathaniel's gaze swept over the vomit in the trash can, a touch of displeasure crossing his eyes.
When he heard them plotting to divide his company at the door just now, he was already angry. Now, Nathaniel was restraining himself from exploding, not wanting to cause a scene as Chelsea was unwell.
Naturally, Nathaniel wouldn't be in a good mood.
"If you feel unwell, eat lighter foods. Stay away from fried and processed foods. Otherwise, I'll have to get a specialist for your stomach condition."
Nathaniel had already arranged for a Cardiology specialist and wouldn't want to hear about Chelsea's other ailments. He wanted Chelsea to get better. If she was healthy, then Nathaniel could have some peace.
Chelsea's nauseous feeling hadn't subsided, and before she could speak, she vomited again, emptying her stomach.
She had been eating all sorts of snacks because she was bored in the hospital room. Nathaniel wasn't keeping her company, and she was genuinely not ill but confined to this small room. To make her performance convincing, Chelsea was restricted to this single hospital bed and was on the verge of going crazy. She had begged Maria for a long time to bring her these snacks.
Maria had already disposed of all the snack wrappers, thinking she had concealed them well, but her disguise had been uncovered.
Norman smirked. "Mr. Heilbronn, Chelsea can't eat anything now but these snacks. Women have cravings when pregnant, and it's the baby in their belly wanting to eat. Eating something is better than nothing."
This time, Nathaniel had come mainly to inform her to stick to a bland diet for the week. The specialist from Melicia advised this, fearing that if she didn't comply, it might affect the accuracy of the upcoming check-up.
Now, it seemed his trip was worthwhile. What he had said over the phone was clearly ineffective, and now he had caught Chelsea red-handed.
Nathaniel solemnly announced, "From now on, no more junk food. All your meals will be light. I'll have them prepared and sent three times a day."
Norman heard this and thought Nathaniel had finally seen the light. Hearing that Chelsea was expecting a boy, he now cared for the mother and child, even arranging for meals to be sent three times a day. Maybe Nathaniel feared that Chelsea would not be taken care of. Actually, Norman now cherished the child in Chelsea's belly more than anyone else.
"Mr. Heilbronn is considerate. I always said Chelsea was blessed," Norman said.
After wiping her face clean from vomiting, Chelsea finally had a chance to speak, "Nathaniel, I feel terrible. My stomach is empty, and I can't eat anything, so I won't eat recklessly anymore. Look, I've vomited it all out. It won't affect the baby in my belly. I'm his mother; I definitely want him to be born healthy. I won't touch these snacks again."
Nathaniel agreed. "Just remember that. I'll have someone come to accompany you. Don't have too many people around you; it affects the air quality."
He was disgusted with Norman. If it weren't for Norman's instigation, Chelsea wouldn't have stubbornly pursued him.
At this moment, Nathaniel didn't even want Chelsea to have much contact with her parents, who couldn't teach her anything good, only malicious ideas. They had already set their sights on his company in advance, and it would be disastrous once the child was born.
Norman sensed the implications in Nathaniel's words and forced a smile. "Very well. Let Mr. Heilbronn's people accompany you, and I will be at ease. Take good care of your pregnancy, and when your body recovers, you can leave the hospital and go home. Mr. Heilbronn will make the arrangements, right?"
Norman cautiously shifted his gaze towards Nathaniel.
At this moment, Nathaniel's face was dark, and his powerful aura made Norman tremble as he spoke.
"You don't need to come anymore. Everything can wait until the specialist checks Chelsea's body. I will handle everything on her end," Nathaniel said.
The family of three froze, realizing his careful arrangements were to prevent Chelsea from resisting the examination.
All three of them knew that they couldn't let this examination happen.
The room fell into a dead silence at this moment. Chelsea's brain had short-circuited, unable to think of a good way to evade the situation.
Does she have to follow Nathaniel's examination arrangements obediently?
She pinned her hopes on Norman, watching him expectantly, believing her father would surely have a good solution.
But Norman remained silent with a serious expression.
Chelsea tried to act cute. "Nathaniel, I'm scared. Can't you wait until the baby is born? Will it affect the baby's development?"
Maria chimed in, "Exactly, pregnant women can't take medication casually, let alone undergo surgery. This examination can delay. Once the child is safely born, there's still time for the surgery."
The family of three unanimously agreed to postpone the examination until after the baby was born.
Nathaniel wouldn't allow them to evade his arrangements; he had everything planned out. Even if the surgery couldn't be performed, he wanted the specialists to diagnose Chelsea's condition accurately to understand how severe her health issues were and why she fell ill so often.
"I've already arranged for it. In a week, the specialist will come to check for your. It's a rare opportunity. As for medication, the doctor will consider it as needed; he knows better than us."
The family of three instantly felt dejected.
