Chapter 121 The Apartment Has Been Sold

Nathaniel was scolded by Reed, who then instructed Ted in front of everyone to sell the apartment in Jade Community, as a tainted property couldn't be kept.

Marcus seamlessly contacted friends for the new property's floor plan.

As Reed looked at the drawings Marcus handed over, his brow finally relaxed. Nathaniel's forehead still oozed blood, but this time, his punishment wasn't as severe as kneeling all day as Reed had done in the past.

Seeing the grandfather's anger subside a bit, Aurelia pulled Nathaniel into a room and fetched the first aid kit to tend to his wounds.

As she dabbed the wound with a cotton ball soaked in antiseptic, Nathaniel couldn't help but let out a yelp, belatedly feeling the pain.

"You knew Grandpa well. Why did you hand him a glass of water? If it was a knife, you're a widow now," Nathaniel remarked.

Ignoring him, Aurelia continued to clean the blood around his wound with the cotton ball, disinfect it, and apply medication.

"It's hot now. To prevent inflammation, be careful not to get the wound wet while bathing or washing your hair."

"I received a call this morning from a neighbor downstairs at Jade Community saying the entire building is being harassed," Nathaniel muttered to himself. Then he suddenly looked up at Aurelia and asked, after a few seconds, "How did the neighbor downstairs get my phone number?"

Aurelia's hand paused for a moment but quickly regained composure. After applying the medication and sticking two bandages on him, she said, "I don't know, maybe Chelsea mentioned it."

"Is that so?" Nathaniel asked.

"I don't know." Aurelia wouldn't admit that she had leaked his phone number. After all, he wouldn't bother calling the neighbor downstairs to ask how she got his number. He could believe it or not.

After lunch, the villa's staff became busy again, preparing everything that had been planned yesterday.

Desserts, fruits, water, beverages, and some freshly caught seafood were all being prepared.

Watching Ted instructing others to load items onto the car, Aurelia wanted to say that she didn't dare to eat most of these things, especially the desserts.

Nathaniel looked disdainfully at the box of seafood being loaded into his Bentley, feeling repulsed but not daring to resist. Reed found him disagreeable, and he had to be more cautious in case Reed was provoked.

As the car left the villa and got onto the highway, Nathaniel finally relaxed.

Aurelia fell asleep halfway through the journey, and when her phone rang, she hesitated to answer the call from an unknown number.

Leaning back in the rear seat, Nathaniel eyed her screen with a guarded expression. "Afraid to answer? Who's the admirer this time?"

Provoked by his words, Aurelia pressed the answer button directly.

"Hello, is this the owner of Jade Community?"

"Yes."

"This is Dreamscape Realty Group. Someone has scheduled a viewing for the property you registered to sell. Would this weekend be convenient?"

Aurelia was taken aback by how quickly Reed had acted. He had just mentioned selling the property in the morning, and now there was already a viewing scheduled.

Uncertain of how to respond, she glanced at Nathaniel, who was staring at her intently as if ready to catch her in the act.

"What's going on?" he asked.

Aurelia moved the phone away from her ear. "It's the real estate company scheduling a viewing for this weekend."

She put the call on speaker, leaving Nathaniel to decide whether the viewing could happen this weekend.

Nathaniel narrowed his eyes and replied, "It's fine."

After exchanging pleasantries, the call ended.

Just then, Reed called Nathaniel, "The apartment in Jade Community has been sold. That woman was not allowed to live in any of the Heilbronn properties in the future. If I find out you've placed her in another property, you're in trouble."

"Grandpa..."

Nathaniel sighed, looking helpless. The call was just a notification, not a discussion, and Reed didn't want to hear anything else.

Reed, still annoyed, had decided to keep an eye on the situation.

The car fell silent once again.

Zack overtook a car in front, and Nathaniel, rubbing his temples, complained, "What's wrong with you? Speeding up in a second and slowing down the next. Did you pay a bribe for your driver's license?"

Zack immediately straightened up. "Mr. Heilbronn, the car in front was driving too slowly."

"Steadier."

Zack felt unjustly accused, already being cautious enough, feeling quite aggrieved.

Aurelia, leaning against the car window, thought to herself that Zack's driving skills were already good enough; what was wrong with Nathaniel?

"It’s better that you inform Chelsea about this," Aurelia said to Nathaniel. Chelsea needed to settle her utility bills beforehand, or the managerial staff might call Aurelia again. She didn't care about the money; it was the annoyance that bothered Aurelia.

Nathaniel glanced over. "Are you happy now?"

Aurelia smiled, "To be honest, I am a little happy, but it was expected."

Reed purchased the apartment and had friends in the community. It was only a matter of time before he knew that Chelsea was living there, so the call was just an early heads-up for him.

Nathaniel was surprised by her candid expression of her thoughts. With the support of Reed, the once easily manipulated Aurelia could now act with impunity in the Heilbronn family. With such backing, he couldn't understand why she was still concerned about Chelsea, who posed no real threat to her.

"Choose whichever house you like and use my card directly. Don't consider Marcus's recommendations; stay away from him," he reiterated for what seemed like the umpteenth time, telling her to keep distance from Marcus.

After a few interactions with Marcus, Aurelia had already been intentionally keeping her distance.

"I don't want a house or a bag. Please refrain from buying them in the future; the walk-in closet at home is almost full," she said.

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised by her words. Zack had told him that giving a woman a bag at any time was foolproof. As he recalled, the bags in the walk-in closet were indeed mostly untouched by her.

She usually preferred a more understated brand that she bought herself.

Thinking about it, Nathaniel began to doubt his taste. Had he chosen styles that weren't to her liking?

"Do you not like bags? Or do you not like those styles?" he inquired.

Leaning away from him by the car door, Aurelia told him directly, "I don't want to use my body in exchange with you."

For her, those bags were not gifts but insults.

Nathaniel pressed on. "What exchange did we make?"

Aurelia thought to herself that Nathaniel was more cunning than anyone else, yet he was playing dumb with her.

"Every time we have sex, you buy me a bag, don't you?" she responded.

Nathaniel rubbed his forehead in exasperation. "Really?"

"Yes, from the very beginning, you've always given me a bag after each sex. The number of bags in the house corresponds to how many sexwe've had. Sometimes, you thought it's cumbersome to give a bag each time and would give me an expensive one directly."

Zack, driving the car, wished he could cover his ears, thinking, 'Rich guys really know their game. Mr. Heilbronn is generous, and this kind of luxury is beyond my reach. Each bag carries a price tag in the tens of thousands. Over time, the cumulative cost becomes staggering.."

Nathaniel was taken aback by her words and burst out laughing. "Is that what you think?"

Can't win me back
