Chapter 317 His Child
Aurelia looked at Ulysses' message and smiled sarcastically.
This smile was caught by Nathaniel.
"What are you laughing at?"
He asked.
Aurelia retracted her emotions and said,
"Nothing, just work stuff."
Aurelia forwarded Ulysses' message to Patrick, and Patrick replied instantly:
[I think this might be the best timing!]
Aurelia had been in Imperick for a few days, waiting for a result. Otherwise, she would have wanted to return to Coral Bay long ago. Leaving Dorothy at home, she missed her child very much.
Her company also had a pile of things that needed her attention.
Aurelia felt a bit more relaxed, thinking about what gifts to bring back for her family.
Nathaniel had deliberately slowed down the car, but in the blink of an eye, they arrived at her house. Time always flew by when he was with her.
Aurelia got out of the car, took out her keys, and opened the door. Nathaniel followed her out, peeking inside.
Aurelia said, "You should go back. It's really troublesome for you."
Aurelia started to be polite with him again.
Nathaniel looked at her back without responding. The next second, the lights in the yard turned on, and a boy rushed out from the house,
"Mommy, you're back!"
Joe followed him out.
Nathaniel was stunned for a moment, his eyes returning to the boy. The little guy looked quite tall, already above Aurelia's thigh.
He couldn't help but think that Aurelia's son had spoken very clearly, indicating he was probably not very young, yet he hadn't expected the child to be so tall.
He couldn't help but think of the two children he had lost.
Nathaniel came back to his senses. Aurelia, holding the child's hand, had already gone inside with Joe.
He stood outside for a long time, watching the lights in her bedroom go out. He couldn't hear any noise inside, still standing there silently.
Nathaniel thought a lot outside the door, scared by his own thoughts.
He felt this was impossible, yet he couldn't think of a reasonable explanation.
If Aurelia had been with Joe four years ago, the child shouldn't be so tall. If the child was her biological one, there was only one possibility.
Nathaniel felt lucky in a trance.
He had made Aurelia suffer so much, yet she had given him the most precious gift in the world.
He lit a cigarette, standing there, his mind replaying past scenes like a slideshow. He saw Joe come out of the house with car keys, lock the security door, and check it carefully before leaving.
Nathaniel was stunned, thinking their relationship might not be what he had imagined. If they were a family of three, Why did he have to leave their house so late? Why wouldn't he stay overnight to watch over them?
Joe came out, naturally not giving him a good look, and asked sharply,
"Did you bring Aurelia back?"
Nathaniel took a deep drag of his cigarette, not answering but asking back,
"Are you Samuel?"
Joe was momentarily confused by his words. Samuel? That was just his nickname.
Nathaniel pressed on,
"What exactly is your relationship with Aurelia?"
Nathaniel silently repeated their names.
Why did they both have the last name Semona?
Thinking that Aurelia had changed her name to her mother's surname as an adult, he faintly asked with a slight smile,
"Are you related to her grandmother's family?"
Joe snorted lightly. This Nathaniel wasn't too stupid, he had guessed it.
He knew this couldn't be hidden for long. Today, he was careless. He was playing with Jacob in the living room when he heard the car engine. Jacob, eager to find his mom, quickly rushed to the yard, and he couldn't stop him. Nathaniel saw it.
Joe pressed the tip of his tongue against his molars, and the next second, his fist swung out without warning, landing squarely on Nathaniel's face.
Nathaniel staggered, almost losing his balance, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, the taste of iron filling his mouth.
He straightened up slowly, despite the blow, feeling an overwhelming sense of triumph. Joe's reaction proved he was right. Aurelia had no man by her side, and that boy was his child, the continuation of his and Aurelia's life!
Nathaniel feared this was his illusion, but the burning pain on his face told him it wasn't. His two children had safely come into this world.
Then Dorothy, that lovely little girl.
He couldn't help but laugh, wanting to thank God.
What a wonderful thing!
Joe had wanted to punch him for a long time. If it weren't for the fear that Nathaniel would come to harass his sister, he would have done it four years ago.
Now, his sister was entangled with him again, and he had discovered the children's true parentage .
Joe had no reason to hold back. He used all his strength to punch this bad man!
Joe, hands on his hips, breathing heavily, warned,
"If you dare come after my sister again, harass them, I'll beat you every time I see you."
Nathaniel laughed again, saying,
"Mr. Semona, you are absolutely right. But I'm not harassing, I'm protecting."
With that, Joe punched him again and said angrily,
"Our Miss from the Semona family is not someone can marry. She suffered great grievances in your Heilbronn family before. I will settle this score. From now on, no one in this world will be able to bully her!"
Nathaniel wiped the corner of his mouth and said,
"She and the two kids are my life!"
Joe said angrily, "Who wants your worthless life!"
Joe pressed the car key, and the car parked outside the door flashed its lights. Before getting in, he glanced back at Nathaniel, who was still leaning against the car, grinning like a fool.
Nathaniel stayed downstairs all night, leaving only at dawn.
The next day, Jacob got up to show Aurelia his recent work, a robot taller than him that had already been assembled.
Jacob said with a smile, "Mommy, although some functions are still not perfect, it can already get you water!"
Aurelia was serving porridge. When she turned around, the robot was behind her. With a square head and two eyes, it clumsily held her water cup.
Aurelia couldn't help but laugh, saying,
"Jacob, this robot is a bit ugly. Why are its eyes red?"
Jacob ran over with the remote control and said,
"Mommy, the eyes actually hide two cameras. You can record commands for it. Once I record your voice, you can command it to do things for you."
"Is this robot really that advanced?"
"Of course, its name is Gregory. It can only do simple things now, but I'll add new functions, like climbing stairs, mopping, sweeping, and fighting."
Aurelia said in surprise,
"Fighting? With whom?"
"Of course, with bad guys. If a bad guy comes to the house, you can call Gregory to control the bad guy and then call the police."
Aurelia brought the food to the table, and the doorbell rang. She wiped her hands, looked out from the balcony, and her heart sank.
