Chapter 120 Who is Your Man?

Aurelia trembled in fear. In the three years she had been married, she had never seen Reed so angry. The last time he was this furious was when he and Chelsea had conspired to anger him into the hospital.

Aurelia quickly went over to calm Reed down.

"Grandpa, please don't be angry. Take it easy. It's bad for your health," she urged.

Reed's lips quivered with anger.

"Aurelia, today, I will do justice for you. Tell me everything this bastard has done wrong. I don't think he is in charge of the Heilbronn family now!"

Nathaniel remained silent, his face still stern.

Aurelia didn't know why Reed was so angry.

"Grandpa, he hasn't done anything wrong," she defended.

Reed sneered, "You're still defending him. He's brought that promiscuous woman into your marital home. Can you tolerate that? That house was a gift to you, not for him to keep a mistress in."

After that, Reed turned to Nathaniel and scolded him, "Do you have no shame? You have a wife, and you're using your wife's house to keep a mistress? Why don't you go live with that woman? The Heilbronn Group doesn't need you; you're not indispensable."

As soon as he finished speaking, Marcus came down the stairs.

"Dad, what's going on? Why are you so angry early in the morning?" Marcus asked, puzzled.

Reed was too angry to articulate his words properly.

"Your nephew has brought a mistress into his own home. Nathaniel, if you're so capable, why don't you keep a few more mistresses? Shame on you! If I hadn't heard the phone call this morning, I wouldn't have known about this. How long were you planning to hide this from me? It feels as if I've let down my deceased friend.."

Aurelia knew that the friend Reed referred to was Penelope, her grandmother. She felt heavy in her heart; it was Penelope who entrusted her to Reed before leaving. Without this connection, she would never have met Nathaniel or been in this relationship.

Marcus adjusted his glasses.

"Dad, there's no need to be so angry. Nathaniel is a young man; he's bound to make mistakes. Teach him well, and he'll learn from it."

Aurelia glanced at Nathaniel from the corner of her eye, seeing his expression darken even further. Marcus's words were not comforting; they only worsened the relationship between Reed and Nathaniel.

"Grandpa, may I explain?" Nathaniel asked.

Nathaniel had endured the scolding and accusations, finally deciding to defend himself.

"My relationship with Chelsea isn't what you think. As you mentioned, Penelope, Aurelia's grandmother, and you have been friends for decades. I can't have female friends while you can, can I?"

Nathaniel directly used his grandfather as an example, implying that he should not be judged by a different standard.

Reed was about to hit him again, but he couldn't find anything to throw, so he stopped.

"You bastard, you still don't think you are wrong. Your grandma and I, along with Aurelia's grandparents, were classmates. Our relationship has always been pure. Can you guarantee that Chelsea doesn't have ulterior motives towards you? That woman wants too much. She not only wants you but also wants the entire Heilbronn Group. Only you see her as a pure person."

As Reed finished speaking, Marcus tried to intervene.

"Dad, don't dwell on this too much. Give Nathaniel some time to cut ties with that woman. Nathaniel isn't a fool."

Nathaniel shot Marcus a displeased look as if to say, "Enough!"

The atmosphere in the living room became tense, with everyone holding their breath.

Nathaniel grabbed a piece of paper from the table and wiped the blood and water from his forehead. The cut on his forehead was still bleeding slowly, looking painful.

Aurelia watched his rough movements and wanted to help, but before she could take a step, Reed pulled her back.

"Aurelia, come back. Leave it with him. Let this bastard feel the pain."

In just a few minutes, Reed had cursed Nathaniel countless times.

"In that case, sell that house, throw away everything that woman has used, and we don't want the house she lived in. It makes me angry just thinking about it. I'll buy Aurelia a new place, this time in her name. Let's see who dares to bring indecent people into it!"

Reed's words were directed at Nathaniel. Nathaniel remained silent, and Marcus took over the conversation.

"Dad, leave this matter to me. A friend of mine has developed several properties this year, and I'll have him reserve the best floor."

Reed gave Marcus an approving look, and the matter was settled.

Chelsea, who lived in the Jade Community, had no idea she was about to be evicted from her apartment. She was also being harassed by netizens both online and offline.

Nathaniel had advised her to stock up on supplies and avoid going out these days. Initially, she hadn't taken it seriously, but after just one night, she realized things were not as simple as she had imagined.

She had been too scared to turn on her phone, receiving countless abusive messages from unknown numbers every day, even curses wishing her death.

She also received harassing phone calls, and her social media accounts were flooded with hateful comments, leading her to block comments.

Now, she didn't dare to leave her home. The group of people seemed to be going mad, blocking her in the community. This morning, she had just wanted to go out to buy some pastries, but as soon as she stepped out of the community, she was drenched with a bucket of dirty water.

It wasn't even the first time she had been soaked like this.

Terrified, she ran back home, only to find people coming to her door one after another, splashing paint, throwing trash, and even animal excrement at her door. She felt like she wanted to die. Just because she had borrowed a piece of paper from Lolly, she was being treated this way by everyone. Was the world going mad?

She called the managerial staff, asking them to stop those people. They promised to help, but the harassment continued. She was all alone at home, feeling helpless and scared. Summoning up her courage, she turned on her phone and tried to call Nathaniel, but he didn't answer.

She was afraid that the group of people would break in and drag her out.

Finally, when the commotion outside subsided, there came a moment of quiet, but it was soon disturbed by a doorbell.

Chelsea mustered up her courage to look through the peephole. She saw a man outside, and tears streamed down her face.

She quickly opened the door and threw herself into the man's arms.

"Why are you here?" she asked.

The man was carrying a bag of groceries.

"Do you find me more comforting now? Why didn't you let Nathaniel come to save you?" he teased.

Chelsea didn't say anything; tears stained the man's chest. At that moment, she needed the security of a man's chest, not the empty promises that were never fulfilled.

Seeing Chelsea like this, the man's heart softened. He set down the groceries and embraced her tightly.

"Why didn't you call me if you were scared?" he asked.

Chelsea choked up, "The harassing calls keep coming, so I didn't dare to turn my phone on."

"How about changing your number and coming with me? We can leave this place forever."

Chelsea immediately pushed away from the man, tears of defiance in her eyes.

She didn't say anything, but the man understood her meaning from her expression.

"Come help me. I'll cook for you."

Chelsea stood still for a moment.

"Don't say such things in the future. My man can only be one person, and it won't be you."

The man grew irritated and lifted her, carrying her quickly to the bathroom.

"Does Nathaniel know how desperate you are?" he said angrily.

In a few swift movements, their clothes were discarded on the floor, and the sound of their lovemaking filled the bathroom, with the rhythm of their bodies intertwining.

"Tell me, who is your man?" the man demanded.

Defiantly, Chelsea replied, "I won't give up on marrying him. I won't give up on that idea!"

The man grew more forceful.

"Damn it, I've never met a woman like you. Coming to me when you're so desperate. Today, I'll make sure to satisfy you completely."

Lost in the moment, Chelsea couldn't control herself, tugging at the man's hair, whispering, "Keep coming!"
Can't win me back
