Chapter 355 Showing Off

At this moment, Jacoba's mind was racing. He never expected Nathaniel to have leverage over him. And Nathaniel had no qualms about using it to threaten him.

Nathaniel was now standing in front of the cart, facing Jacoba. From this angle, he could clearly see Aurelia pushing Dorothy towards them.

He reminded again, "Your mommy is coming over. Should I tell her how you sabotaged my system?"

Jacoba looked alarmed. He glanced back and saw that his mommy was indeed walking quickly towards them.

He held back and whispered, "Daddy."

Nathaniel's ears twitched, and he couldn't help but smile, "What? I didn't hear you."

Jacoba, having no other choice, raised his voice as Nathaniel demanded, "Daddy."

Nathaniel burst out laughing and ruffled Jacoba's little head. "Good boy. What do you want to eat tonight? I'll buy it for you."

At this moment, Aurelia pushed Dorothy over and saw the father and son talking about something. Nathaniel looked very happy.

Aurelia was curious, "What were you two talking about just now?"

Nathaniel glanced at Jacoba, who was sitting in the cart with a reluctant expression, and said with a smile, "Nothing much. Jacob said he wanted beef."

Jacoba pouted behind his mommy's back, adjusted his mood, and asked, "Mommy, can you push me?"

Aurelia was taken aback and exchanged carts with Nathaniel. After a few seconds, she asked, "Did Daddy upset you?"

Jacoba, full of grievances but not daring to speak, glanced at Nathaniel and swallowed his bitterness, "No."

Nathaniel was in a very good mood now. He didn't hold back while shopping, and the two carts were piled high. If the kids weren't sitting inside, he might have bought more. As it was, the trunk was almost full when they left.

It wasn't too late when they drove back home. Nathaniel carried the items inside one by one, while Aurelia organized the fridge. They had a clear division of labor and worked well together.

After everything was put away, Nathaniel changed his clothes, put on the apron he wore in the morning, and went into the kitchen. He didn't want the nanny to follow them because he didn't want their rare family time to be disturbed. He was enjoying it now.

Aurelia followed to help. She looked around the kitchen but couldn't find a second apron.

Nathaniel was cutting beef. He had done a lot of research these days; kids should eat more beef to grow taller, and Aurelia, who had anemia, should also eat more of this kind of meat.

Aurelia stood behind him, feeling a bit out of place. Suddenly, she felt like their roles had reversed. Now she seemed like the high and mighty, cold CEO, while he was the humble househusband, especially with that apron on.

Aurelia prepared the dishes they were going to eat later, crossed her arms, and watched him work, "I think I heard Jacob calling you Daddy at the supermarket?"

Nathaniel tried to suppress a laugh. "You heard right."

Aurelia was a bit shocked. She had thought Dorothy would be the first to warm up to Nathaniel. After all, Dorothy didn't react as strongly as Jacoba when they first met. Yet, her son, who hadn't been very welcoming to Nathaniel at first, was already calling him "Daddy"?

Nathaniel glanced back at Aurelia, whose expression was as he expected. He calmly put the prepared beef on a plate and took the vegetables to wash.

"Aurelia, at what age did Jacob start using electronic devices?"

Aurelia recalled, "He liked playing with them since he was little. He first took apart the robot vacuum Joe bought, then got interested in computers. Joe bought him one."

Nathaniel silently thought his son was remarkable. He couldn't do that at his age. He remembered that at four, he was probably leading a group of kids climbing trees and catching birds.

Not only could he not do it, but he also thought his friend Chris, who got rich through programming, couldn't do it either.

After dinner, while Aurelia cleaned the kitchen, Nathaniel texted Chris on Facebook,

Nathaniel: [Bro, at what age did you learn programming?]

Chris: [Probably started in middle school. Why, you want to learn?]

Nathaniel: [My son can do it at four. Impressive, right?]

Chris: [???]

That jerk. He thought Nathaniel wanted to chat, but he was just showing off.

[My son can hack other people's systems. Impressive, right? Believe it or not, my son can hack into your company's intranet. Be polite when you talk to me, or my son will hack your system.]

Chris held his phone, watching Nathaniel's messages come in one after another, and didn't reply, letting him show off.

Unexpectedly, the next second, Nathaniel, without waiting for any praise or admiration, made the call directly.

"So, what do you think? My son is impressive, right?" Nathaniel asked.

"Nathaniel, if your son is so impressive, why was your company's website hacked before? Get your son to deal with that J."

Chris thought, 'He was bullied by J, and now he had the nerve to show off to me.'

Nathaniel was silent for a few seconds before saying, "My son is J."

This time, Chris was completely stunned. The one who hacked Nathaniel's system was his own son?

This was too funny. This kid really knew how to cause trouble for his father!

Chris couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Nathaniel, you're really something, having such an excellent son. He really knows how to cause trouble for his father, haha!"

Nathaniel was speechless at the last sentence. He was here to show off his son, but Chris was teasing him instead.

What a lousy friend.

He hung up the phone, and Aurelia had almost finished cleaning up.

Aurelia was about to leave the kitchen when she bumped into Nathaniel, who was coming in.

Aurelia quickly stepped back, not knowing why Nathaniel came in at this time. She nervously tidied her hair.

"What about Dorothy and Jacob tomorrow?"

Nathaniel thought for a few seconds and said slowly, "They'll come with me."

Aurelia leaned against the counter, suspicious, "You won't have a repeat of today, will you?"

Nathaniel chuckled.

"Aurelia, I'm their father. Besides, I won't hit the kids. What are you worried about?"

He made sense. Aurelia realized she was overly concerned. The kids were with their dad; she shouldn't be so sensitive.

"Jacob is a bit naughty. Will he affect your work?"

Nathaniel took two cups from the shelf, filled one with warm water for Aurelia, and poured himself a glass of cold water. They leaned against the counter and chatted.

"No. I have some business to handle at SmartHomeTech tomorrow. The kids will like it."

Aurelia sipped her water. She hadn't heard of SmartHomeTech before, "SmartHomeTech?"

Nathaniel nodded, "It's a tech company that makes smart home products. I acquired it two years ago, and now I manage it alone."

Can't win me back
