Chapter 537 Overwhelmed Before It Began

Aurelia's entire body was taut with anticipation, her focus entirely on the man before her. Even before they started, she felt overwhelmed.

"Nathaniel..." she whispered breathlessly above him.

Only then did Nathaniel guide her back onto his lap, reaching for a tissue to wipe his hand. "Aurelia, shall we begin now? Your outfit is perfect—quite convenient," he praised, his voice unusually husky, carrying a seductive quality that seemed especially potent in their intimate atmosphere.

Aurelia was defenseless against him when he spoke like this, each word chipping away at her already crumbling resolve.

Nathaniel took a condom from the box beside them and placed it in Aurelia's palm. "Aurelia, help me with this."

Her cheeks flushed crimson as she deftly opened the package and carefully rolled the protection onto him with practiced ease.

After they'd made love once, Nathaniel wasn't ready to let her go. He kept her trapped on the sofa, nipping at her earlobe as he whispered, "How was it for you?"

Aurelia buried her face against his neck, catching her breath in small gasps. "Wonderful," she admitted.

"You should buy more outfits like this. You could wear them to bed," he suggested.

Aurelia's brow furrowed. Wear this to bed? He must be mad. It would mean making love... anytime, anywhere. She'd purchased the easy-access style, which certainly lived up to his description of "convenient."

Unable to argue, she expressed her displeasure with a gentle bite to his shoulder. "Why do you have so many condoms stocked at home? When do you expect to use them all—the next century?"

While organizing earlier, she'd discovered not only the boxes by the bed but an entire cabinet full in the bathroom—like someone preparing for doomsday. Enough to last a sexually inactive couple a lifetime.

Nathaniel's chest rumbled with laughter. "Don't worry, not a single one will go to waste."

Aurelia's eyes widened in shock as she pulled away from his embrace, noticing with surprise that he was aroused again.

Nathaniel's lips curved into a suggestive smile. "I can't help myself—you're irresistible today," he said, already tearing open another package.

Aurelia whimpered through his relatively gentle thrusts. "My legs... they're aching..."

Nathaniel paused, then flipped her over with one fluid motion, embracing her slender waist from behind and drawing her close. He enjoyed her care, but he wasn't helpless—especially not in this. He was determined to give her the most pleasure possible.

"Aurelia, look up," he commanded softly.

Aurelia saw a mirror directly in front of them, lightly fogged with condensation. Their eyes met in the reflection as they joined in the most intimate way, each admiring the other's expressions of passion.

The sensory and physical stimulation reached its peak. He wasn't gentle in his expertise, teasing her mercilessly, bringing her to the edge until she was begging through tears before finally giving her release.

Aurelia was completely spent, yet experiencing unprecedented relaxation in both body and mind. The emotional strain of recent weeks had taken its toll.

After showering, Aurelia found herself wrapped in blankets and Nathaniel's arms, drifting toward sleep. "Aurelia, why don't you go back to the office next week? I should be fine now," he suggested.

Aurelia, exhausted and drowsy, merely responded with an incoherent murmur.

Nathaniel stroked her hair. "Are you listening to me? Did our activities scramble your brain?"

The comment jolted Aurelia back to alertness. "I'm not the one with the scrambled brain. Your mind is completely consumed by sex."

Nathaniel didn't bother arguing. "Fair enough. Now, seriously—are you ready to end the home office arrangement and return to work tomorrow?"

Aurelia adjusted to find a comfortable position in his arms, then moved slightly away, afraid of accidentally bumping his wound during sleep. "Are you sure you're up to it?"

Nathaniel couldn't resist. "Whether I'm 'up to it' or not—didn't you just find out firsthand?"

Aurelia wanted to smack him. The Nathaniel who returned home was a completely different man from the one his employees knew—this private version was suggestive and full of innuendo. His staff would never imagine their boss being so playfully inappropriate in bed.

"Can you manage one serious sentence?" she sighed.

Nathaniel shifted back to his more formal demeanor. "The office is close to home, and my job doesn't require much physical exertion. My leg is functional now. As long as I avoid alcohol, there shouldn't be any issues."

Aurelia studied his face, moonlight illuminating his features as his gaze rested on her. "Can you promise not to drink?"

Nathaniel nodded. "If you don't trust me, Zack can keep an eye on me."

"Zack is your personal assistant. Everyone knows how loyal he is to you. If you asked him to deceive me, would he dare refuse?"

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Zack is my assistant, true, but he seems more afraid of you. He listens to you more than to me."

The thought troubled him—an assistant he'd trained for years apparently responded better to her instructions.

Aurelia considered this. "I think Zack would just try to mediate between us without taking sides. Can we really trust what he says?"

Nathaniel's lips twitched with amusement. "I'm genuinely better now. How about this—I'll have the bulletproof glass replaced with regular glass and move my desk near the window. Our offices face each other, so you can look up anytime and check on me."

Aurelia reluctantly agreed. "Fine, but no alcohol, no coffee, and cancel all business dinners. Wait for me so we can eat together."

"Whatever you say. It's late—let's sleep."

The next morning, Dahlia prepared breakfast. After the meal, Aurelia drove Dahlia and the children to preschool. Upon returning, she handed Dahlia the car keys.

"You should use this car from now on. I might not always be available to pick up Jacob and Dorothy. When I can't make it, you can drive over. You'll need transportation for groceries and errands too."

Dahlia was startled. Aurelia's car was a birthday gift from Cathy—an expensive luxury vehicle. As a nanny and housekeeper, she couldn't imagine driving such an extravagant car.

"Ms. Semona, I couldn't possibly. You need your car for work, and I'd be terrified of scratching it," she protested.

Aurelia understood her concerns. "Dahlia, please don't be formal with me. It's just a car—a tool meant to serve us. Don't treat it as something precious. If it gets scratched, I'll have it repaired. I won't make you pay."

Dahlia, embarrassed at having her worries exposed, admitted, "Ms. Semona, I simply couldn't afford to replace it if anything happened."

"Who said anything about replacement? I'm grateful you've helped me and moved with us. Jacob and Dorothy consider you family, as do I."

Unable to refuse further, Dahlia accepted the keys.

They still had Nathaniel's car available, which he couldn't drive while his leg was healing. Though the office was close enough to walk under normal circumstances, Aurelia worried about Nathaniel's knee and wanted to take precautions.

She drove his Bugatti to the office building, where they parted ways to their respective companies.

Aurelia had been away from Karma Jewelry for some time. In her absence, their new collection had sold remarkably well, even selling out completely at one point.

The company's social media accounts had gained numerous followers, many commenting with requests for Karma Jewelry to establish boutiques in more cities nationwide and launch an online store.

Currently, they only had locations in four major cities, forcing customers from other areas to travel to the nearest metropolis, queue for service, and potentially leave empty-handed if stock was depleted—a significant inconvenience.
