Chapter 390 Embarrass The Family For Three Generations
The long beep ended, and Nathaniel didn't get Aurelia's answer. Instead, he was met with a cold robotic voice.
Nathaniel panicked immediately. He quickly contacted Zack to book the fastest flight to Coral Bay. He needed to fly over and explain to her right away.
Zack was trembling on the phone, "Mr. Heilbronn, I'm afraid you won't be able to leave anytime soon."
This matter had already attracted widespread attention, and the media was everywhere. Nathaniel, frequently featured in financial news and magazines, would be surrounded as soon as he stepped out.
"Mr. Heilbronn, where are you now? I'll bring bodyguards over. There are already many reporters ambushed around the Heilbronn Villa. The urgent task is to suppress the public opinion."
Nathaniel felt very frustrated. He hung up the phone and called Aurelia's cell again, but still, no one answered.
Zack soon arrived with bodyguards. He had already contacted the PR department. Now, the entire PR department of the Heilbronn Group had been called back to the company to handle the emergency.
People's resentment towards the rich was at play, and the target of online abuse had shifted from Ashley to the Heilbronn Group.
Nathaniel was unusually calm about this matter. What made him restless was that he couldn't get through to Aurelia.
Zack entered and reported the situation. Nathaniel's mind was full of thoughts about Aurelia and the children. On one hand, he worried that Aurelia might misunderstand him. On the other hand, he was glad she had taken the kids and left first. Otherwise, this matter might have involved the three of them.
Zack was very anxious, "Mr. Heilbronn, quickly spend money to settle these negative news."
Nathaniel sat in his chair calmly and said, "Go ahead, money is not an issue. For now, send some people to the house. Don't let this mess affect my grandpa's normal life."
Reed had just been discharged from the hospital the day before. This kind of thing couldn't be hidden from him, but he shouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
Zack immediately called the PR department to arrange it, spending a lot of money to remove the trending searches. The company's image needed to be maintained. He also had people dig up all the charitable work the Heilbronn Group had done over the years and praise it.
The internet's memory was as short as a fish's. When a new hot topic came up, the previous one would quickly be forgotten. The heat would soon pass.
As for the company's stock, he was confident he could make it rise again.
Nathaniel had been running the company for so long and had seen all kinds of situations. This little issue didn't worry him at all.
By the evening, the trending searches had been removed, the online videos deleted, and all traces wiped clean.
There was nothing money couldn't solve. If there was, it meant the money hadn't been enough.
When Nathaniel said, "Money is not an issue," Zack understood and went ahead.
Only a few accounts were still cursing under the Heilbronn Group's official Instagram, repeatedly posting the saved video of Ashley hitting someone. When deleted, they would switch accounts and post again.
Nathaniel returned to the company. With Aurelia and the kids not at home, he couldn't sleep alone. It was better to handle work at the company to distract himself.
Zack pushed the door open and came in, "Mr. Heilbronn, as you expected, those accounts cursing us are from our competitor's company. We've traced the IP addresses."
Nathaniel leaned back in his leather chair, a mocking smile on his lips, "They finally found an opportunity. Report it to the police."
Ashley deserved to be condemned for her actions, but as the head of the Heilbronn Group, he could say with a clear conscience that the Heilbronn Group had never done anything to harm consumers over the years.
They regularly did charity work, and in the event of earthquakes, floods, and other sudden disasters, they were the first to donate money for relief.
He wouldn't accept any form of insult or slander against the Heilbronn Group and had to report it to the police.
Zack hesitated, "Mr. Heilbronn, if we report it, won't they keep harping on Miss Heilbronn's issue?"
"She made a mistake, and the law will punish her. Ashley is already facing the consequences of her actions. What more can develop from this?"
The worst had already happened.
Ashley was taken away by the police, and he didn't use his personal connections to get her off. He immediately comforted the victim and stood firmly on the side of justice.
Zack was surprised. In such wealthy and noble families, reputation was everything. Having the family's young lady end up in jail was not something most socialites could bear. For them, it was more unacceptable than losing a billion-dollar deal.
Nathaniel standing on the side of justice and not favoring his sister made Zack admire him even more. "Mr. Heilbronn, Miss Heilbronn might feel wronged."
"She brought it on herself. Everyone has to pay for their actions."
Zack sighed, "Mr. Nathaniel Heilbronn, the police station called. They said Miss Heilbronn is emotionally unstable and is demanding to be released, even bringing up Mr. Reed Heilbronn's name."
Nathaniel felt a pang in his heart. It wasn't that he didn't care about his sister. They shared the same blood, and he had watched her grow up. How could he not be worried?
But at this moment, he was more concerned that Beatrice's upbringing had ruined her. Small mistakes unpunished would lead to bigger disasters, and by then, it would be too late to regret.
He thought back to when Ashley was young and not so arrogant, with her pigtails, cutely calling him brother.
Every child was a blank slate at birth. It all depended on the kind of education they received.
Ashley was once a polite and likable little girl, gradually spoiled by Beatrice into what she was now.
Nathaniel silently felt that he also bore some responsibility as her brother.
Ashley had been locked up for a day and a night, yet she hadn't reflected on her mistakes. Instead, she was shouting at the police station, using Reed's name.
This would embarrass the family for three generations. If Reed knew, he'd be furious.
"Let her shout. If no one pays attention, she'll eventually calm down. Let's see when she realizes her mistake."
Zack responded, "Should we inform the officers to give her special attention?"
"No need, just make sure she's not bullied inside. Other than that, treat her like everyone else."
Ashley was an adult and of marriageable age. She had to understand that not everyone in the world was her mother, and not everyone had to pamper her and let her do as she pleased.
All people were born equal. Having money didn't give one the right to bully and beat others. Otherwise, how was she different from a delinquent?
Zack replied, "Understood. However, the police station called and said your mother is there, refusing to leave. She said she's there to pick up Miss Heilbronn and won't leave until Miss Heilbronn is released."
Nathaniel had anticipated Beatrice's actions, "If she wants to stay, let her. Tell the police to ignore her."
Nathaniel handled this matter with calmness and indifference, completely devoid of familial bias.
He also wanted to use this incident to make Beatrice and Ashley reflect on themselves. If they didn't suffer a loss, they would never think they were wrong.
