Chapter 225 Hacker J
Nathaniel returned to the previous screen and re-entered the answers:
[Favorite woman: Aurelia.]
[Favorite food of the favorite woman: Shrimp.]
[Favorite activity of the favorite woman: Collecting jewelry.]
He hit enter, and that annoying Mickey Mouse icon popped up again, making a face at him.
Prompt: [Congratulations, you got zero questions right. You have one more chance.]
Nathaniel slumped back in his chair, too frustrated to speak. The sun was setting, and it was already past office hours. With everyone in the company locked in the building and unable leave, and complaints were beginning to surface.
Some employees were anxious to pick up their kids, some had appointments, and others had meetings with clients.
The company was filled with grumbling employees.
Nathaniel rubbed his temples and instructed, "Let's just break the door."
He was unlikely to get these three questions right today. Employees needed to eat and go home; they couldn't be kept here indefinitely.
Zack called the external managerial staff workers, reminding them not to damage the access control while dismantling the door. He knew the CEO's temperament; this issue would not be taken lightly.
He would definitely investigate it thoroughly and punish the audacious person who dared to hack the Heilbronn Group's system.
In Science Museum.
Jacob was fascinated by all the new high-tech exhibits. Everything was novel to him. No wonder his kindergarten friends couldn't stop talking about the science museum. He had initially dismissed it, thinking they were exaggerating, but now he realized he had been narrow-minded.
With everything he saw today, he could talk to his mommy about it for three days and nights.
The notification sound from his smartwatch went off. He sneaked a glance while his uncle wasn't looking and smiled smugly. He had set it up so that as long as the other person's computer didn't disable the camera, he could see who was in front of the system.
He looked at the frustrated Nathaniel on the other side of the camera and snorted softly. He said quietly, "This is just the beginning for bullying my mommy. Just wait and see!"
Jacob had set the answers in the system as "Anne, cake, and design."
Aurelia used to like seafood porridge, but since moving to Coral Bay, she had changed all her old habits. When she lacked inspiration at work, she liked to eat some sweets to keep herself happy. Nathaniel know none of this.
Nathaniel packed up the computer that had nearly driven him mad and carried it downstairs alone.
He decided to give Zack an early day off.
He dialed his friend Chris's number and started driving to the restaurant where Chris was at.
Chris was having dinner with his fiancée at a couple's restaurant, finally getting some rare alone time.
After hanging up, Chris tossed his phone aside and explained to his fiancée,
"Nathaniel is coming over. You don't mind, do you?" Chris asked.
Nova had no connection with this jewelry mogul, but she had heard her brother complain about him, calling him a player who juggled multiple women and didn't care about his wife. His indulgence of his mistress had led to his pregnant wife's tragic car accident.
The Sinclair family was a loving family. The Sinclair siblings had grown up watching their parents' loving relationship and had a sincere longing for true love. They despised infidelity the most.
Nova's face fell but said, "I do mind!"
Her fiancé's friend was a playboy, and she was worried he might be a bad influence. Nova was somewhat resistant to Chris frequently associating with this person.
Chris quickly put down his fork to comfort her.
He reassured her, "He's just coming to ask for a favor and will leave after a few words. I won't let him stay for dinner. Is that okay?"
Nova rolled her eyes at him, still not very happy about it.
Chris, an IT guy, wasn't good at comforting his girlfriend. He spent most of his time absorbed in his computer work. Although he no longer needed to write code himself, coding remained his passion and the foundation of his wealth and success in the industry.
He added, "Baby, don't be mad. I'll buy you a bag later."
Nova retorted, "That bag you bought last time? Even our housekeeper wouldn't use it for grocery shopping."
Chris rubbed his forehead, a bit helpless. He coaxed gently, "Then tell me what you want."
Nova didn't really lack anything but his concern softened her heart.
She warned, "Fine, I won't argue with you, but if you dare to learn to be a playboy from Nathaniel, I won't be as forgiving as his poor wife."
Chris promised repeatedly, "Of course not. We get along because we have similar business opinions. Let's not comment on his personal affairs. Nathaniel isn't as bad as the rumors say. He hasn't had it easy these four years since his wife passed."
As they were talking, a limited edition Bentley pulled up outside.
Nathaniel hurriedly walked in with the computer, looking around. Chris waved at him.
"Chris, I need a favor," Nathaniel said directly.
Chris was the top hacker in the country. If the other party hadn't been so arrogant, Nathaniel wouldn't have thought to ask him for help.
Chris took the computer and said, "Nathaniel, can it wait until tonight?"
Nathaniel looked anxious and said, "Do you want me to watch you guys eat?"
Chris cursed inwardly and opened the laptop. Lines of code scrolled across the screen. Seeing the Mickey Mouse icon, he couldn't help but laugh, and remarked, "You pissed off someone who's a Mickey Mouse fan!"
The mention of 'Mickey Mouse' made Nathaniel's blood boil. The other party had jammed the Heilbronn Group's clock-in system, even though it caused no economic damage, the hacker still played a prank on him.
Nathaniel swore inwardly, whoever dared to provoke him like this would pay once he found out who it was.
Chris investigated for a while, then paused, his expression turning serious.
He asked, "What beef do you have with hacker J?"
Nathaniel fumed, then said, "Hacker J? I don't know any hacker J."
He was in the jewelry business, not the internet, and had no contact with hackers.
Chris sighed helplessly. Then he explained, "Judging by the way the barriers are set up, it's the work of F, a well-known hacker in the country over the past year. He has a habit of leaving a J mark in the code when he hacks a website. You should protect your company's confidential files; this guy is skilled and can break through any firewall."
Nathaniel's expression grew serious as he said, "So what's the next step? I don't believe there's no one in the country who can't beat him."
Chris shrugged dismissively. He replied, "The person better than him is right here. I can help you with some security measures, but if the other party is determined to attack you, it won't hold him off for long."
"Even you can't completely stop him?" Nathaniel remarked and felt a bit surprised.
For Chris, an internet mogul and top hacker, to say this, it showed how formidable the person was.
Nathaniel felt even more conflicted. He thought back to the people he had recently interacted with and couldn't recall offending such a powerful figure.
"Can you find him? I need to meet him," Nathaniel said,
'No matter how deep the grudge is, it has to be resolved face-to-face. Hacking someone's system secretly isn't something to be proud of,' Nathaniel thought.
Chris typed on the keyboard for a while and said, "As long as he's online, I can locate him, but his position keeps changing."
