Chapter 207 He is Brother Samuel
Time flew by as three days passed. During these three days, Aurelia occasionally moved her hands and feet.
On the third day, when the on-duty doctor performed a routine check-up, he found her wide-eyed and staring blankly at the ceiling. Excited, the doctor immediately went out to share the thrilling news with her family waiting outside.
Given that her vital signs had returned to normal and she was out of the danger zone, the doctor announced that she could be transferred to a regular ward.
This news made the whole family ecstatic.
Joe had already arranged for the best VIP ward. It was spacious, well-lit, and came with top-notch service.
Aurelia, not yet fully aware of her surroundings, was wheeled into the VIP ward. She saw many strangers around her bed, all with joyful expressions.
Everything was unfamiliar; she felt like she had been reborn or had just woken up from a nightmare.
When her gaze fell on Joe, her pupils dilated slightly, finding him familiar. She tried to recall and finally remembered she had seen this face on the cruise ship, where Nathaniel had been chatting with him sarcastically.
Cathy stood at the front, holding her hand. "Aurelia, I'm Cathy, your grandma. This is Coral Bay. You heard me talking to you in the ICU, didn't you?"
Aurelia's mind was foggy; her memory stopped at the day she divorced Nathaniel. She remembered being hit by a car, and the only memory she had of after that was of the excruciating pain.
The pain was not just physical but also emotional.
She vaguely thought of the place she cared about the most and, with great effort, reached out to touch her belly.
Cathy hurried to comfort her, "Don't worry, your babies are fine. All three of you will be fine."
Feeling her slightly swollen belly, Aurelia's heart suddenly felt at ease.
After arranging everything, Joe walked to the front.
He asked, "Aurelia, do you remember me? I'm your cousin Joe. Your mom, Brenda, is my aunt. We met not long ago."
Two crystal-clear tears fell from Aurelia's eyes. She wanted to nod but couldn't control her strength; her head felt heavy, and any slight movement brought piercing pain.
This unexpected news shocked her. The "Mr. Semona" Nathaniel mentioned was actually her cousin. Now she somewhat understood Joe's sarcastic remarks to Nathaniel on the cruise.
Cathy quickly wiped Aurelia's tears away and comforted, "Dear, everyone here is your family. I'll let Samuel introduce them to you one by one."
Hearing the name "Samuel", Aurelia became emotional. After Brenda left, she had been searching the world for Samuel, but to no avail. Her lips trembled as she struggled to ask, "Samuel?"
Cathy smiled, "Samuel is your cousin Joe. That's his nickname."
Aurelia shed more tears. She had spent a fortune searching for people named Samuel nationwide, not realizing it was just a nickname.
Joe stepped forward and said, "Aurelia, I've been looking for you for many years. A week before Brenda's accident, she happened to contact me. I knew she had a daughter and always thought you would have Norman's last name. Later, I found out you changed your last name to Semona and cut ties with him."
Aurelia was emotional. So, Samuel was her cousin, and her mom had such a big family in Coral Bay.
Norman had lied to her, saying her mom had no family. He never told her a single truth.
Aurelia couldn't stop crying, choking out, "My mom told me to find cousin Samuel before she passed. I've been looking for you for many years."
The whole family wiped their tears together.
Joe eagerly introduced, "Aurelia, this is Grandma, this is Uncle, Aunt, this is your sister-in-law and little niece. Remember, never give up your life for someone unworthy. Our whole family is your support."
Aurelia blinked in place of nodding.
The family cried in the ward for a long time, officially recognizing Aurelia.
Aurelia had just come out of the danger zone and was still very weak, especially after losing so much blood, which couldn't be replenished quickly.
The nurse came after a few minutes to clear the ward. "The patient needs rest. Only two people can stay to take care of her. The rest, please wait outside."
Hearing that only two could stay, Cathy sat on a chair, not planning to leave, and Leon quickly took the second chair.
The rest laughed, "Fine, we'll let you stay for now. We'll come in to switch later."
So, the folding beds were moved to the hallway of this ward.
This family, who usually slept on custom-made mattresses from abroad, felt particularly content and secure sleeping on these hard folding beds. Fortunately, Aurelia was back and saved.
Aurelia bounced back little by little everyday, and a month later, she received the discharge notice.
Cathy and Joe planned to hold a grand recognition banquet. The one in the ward was too perfunctory, not grand enough, and didn't show how much Cathy valued Aurelia. Cathy wanted to announce to the world that the Semona family's young lady had been found.
Aurelia got nervous upon hearing this. With the Semona family's influence in the business world, such a scene would definitely attract media attention, possibly even making the news.
She had finally left Imperick, the place of her heartbreak, and decided never to return or contact old acquaintances.
She would rather let everyone think she was dead.
Aurelia pleaded, "Grandma, let's keep it low-key and just celebrate with the family. I don't want too many people to know."
Cathy responded with confusion, unable to fully understand Aurelia's feelings at the moment.
Joe and Aurelia exchanged a glance and then smiled, "Grandma, Aurelia is right. She just came back; let her adapt first."
Cathy nodded, "Alright, whatever she wants."
Joe raised an eyebrow, thinking that now Aurelia was back, he had completely lost favor. Cathy was now doting on Aurelia and wasn't as lenient with him.
The Semona family villa had been under renovation since the day Joe found Aurelia. Cathy personally chose the room with the best lighting for Aurelia's bedroom.
The furnishings in the room were all added according to Cathy's wishes. She thought Aurelia might like pink and cute styles, so she took it upon herself to decorate the bedroom in a princess-style.
The others tried to persuade Cathy that Aurelia was already an adult and probably wouldn't like such childish things, but she wouldn't listen and even scolded them for not appreciating it.
In Cathy's eye, girls would forever be princesses in their hearts and that Aurelia should live in a dream castle.
On the day of discharge, the Semona family came with four cars. The whole family had come. Cathy claimed that this was already her restrained and low-key approach.
Aurelia looked at the four luxury cars worth millions, thinking, 'This is not low-key at all.'
