Chapter 224 Helping Mommy Vent

The two children saw Dahlia was busy, held hands, and sneaked into the room, closing the door behind them.

Dorothy asked, "Jacob, have you seen Dad?"

Jacoba shook his head. "Forget it, Dad is a big jerk. We don't need him. Let's ask Mommy to find us a better dad."

Dorothy was puzzled at his word. "Can we choose a dad we like?" she questioned him with a hint of skepticism.

Jacoba said, "Of course we can!"

Dorothy smiled happily as she describe her ideal father would be like, "Then I want a tall, handsome dad who can make strawberry cake, tell stories, and take us to the amusement park."

Jacoba rested his chin on his hand and said, "The most important thing is that he loves Mommy."

The two children were completely unfamiliar with the concept of a dad and were planning to find an ideal one for themselves.

In the afternoon, Joe finished his work and returned to the hotel. As soon as he entered, he asked Dahlia about the situation with the two children in the room that morning and if there were any unexpected incidents.

Dahlia had promised Jacob to keep the morning's events a secret from their uncle and mom, so she just said lightly, "I went out to buy a cake in the morning, nothing special happened."

Joe took off his suit, hung it on the coat rack, changed his shoes, and walked into the room.

In the bedroom, Dorothy was engrossed in drawing with colored pens. While Jacob was focused on tinkering with his computer, his small hands flying over the keyboard.

Neither of the children noticed Joe had returned.

Seeing that, Joe asked, "Jacob, what are you doing?"

Joe was particularly curious about his nephew's computer. It was the little guy's treasure, a birthday gift from Aurelia for his third birthday, which he had later modified. After the modification, he didn't let anyone touch it, not even Aurelia.

Jacoba was startled by the sudden voice and looked at his uncle warily.

The code on his computer screen was still running rapidly, and he was about to complete his task. He couldn't afford any problems at the last moment.

He moved the computer to the corner, turning the screen away from Joe, and said perfunctorily, "Uncle, I'm watching cartoons."

Joe rubbed his forehead. He clearly saw the screen full of letters.  He didn't know what Jacob was up to.

So he said to Jacob in a deep and serious tone, "Jacob, let me explain something, just because you have a talent for the internet doesn't mean you can do whatever you want online. You can't post harmful comments that lead to cyberbullying, nor can you attack other people's websites and cause them losses. It's important to be a law-abiding and ethical citizen."

He knew Jacob was a smart kid who could navigate the online world without falling victim to scams, but he was worried the young boy might do something illegal out of ignorance and needed a reminder.

Little did Joe know, he had hit the nail on the head!

Jacob glanced at his screen, where the program had just finished executing, displaying a big "success!"

He snorted and said, "Of course not."

He was punishing the jerk for Mommy, not doing something bad.

Joe saw his expression and felt uneasy, fearing he might do something irreparable.

"Jacob, turn the computer around and let me take a look!" Joe demanded, concerned.

Jacob had already completed his task, so he didn't care anymore. He tapped a few keys on the keyboard and turned the screen to Joe.

Joe saw the screen playing a Mickey Mouse cartoon and laughed in exasperation. He realized Jacob had clearly switched the interface in advance to fool him.

He put his hands on his hips, feeling helpless against Jacob.

Joe instructed them, "Alright, you two, change your clothes and get ready to go out. Uncle's work is done, and we're going to the science museum now."

The two kids' eyes lit up in excitement, and they dropped what they were holding, jumping over to hug Joe, shouting, "I love Uncle, I love Uncle!"

In the Heilbronn Group.

Someone noticed that since the afternoon, the company's clock-in system had malfunctioned, and the access control couldn't be unlocked.

No matter who stood in front of the clock-in machine, the screen displayed a picture of Mickey Mouse making a face. The HR department was unable to access the system from the backend either, with the account and password completely invalid.

Now the entire Heilbronn Group was in chaos. Employees couldn't get in or out, and with the end of the workday approaching, they grew increasingly concerned about being stranded and unable to return home.

The matter quickly reached Zack, who knocked on the CEO's office door with a few documents in hand.

Zack reported urgently, "Mr. Heilbronn, our company's clock-in system has been hacked, and the access control is down."

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed as he looked at Zack. "Who did it?" he asked.

Zack replied honestly, "The one who hacked our system is an expert. Our network security department is still working on it but has no leads."

Although the Heilbronn Group's network security department wasn't as robust as those of the major tech companies, its employees were top professionals in the industry. The fact that they had no leads showed the hacker was highly skilled.

In all the years since the Heilbronn Group was founded, this was the first time they had faced a hacking attack. Nathaniel had made many enemies over the years of running the company. While he often dismissed those he had defeated, he knew it was possible that one of them could strike back.

This matter was not to be taken lightly.

Nathaniel tapped his fingers on the desk rhythmically, instructing, "First, notify the finance department to back up important reports and documents. Encrypt the files and back them up on a separate offline computer to prevent loss. Destroy the originals."

Zack didn't delay and immediately gave the order to the finance director. He also notified all employees to keep their important work and not to open unfamiliar links.

The entire company was in a state of panic all afternoon, and no one could work peacefully.

After two hours of intense investigation, the network security department found the hacker's set checkpoints. The hacker had left behind three questions, with a hint answering two correctly would unlock the system.

Question 1: [Who is your favorite woman?]

Question 2: [What is your favorite woman's favorite food?]

Question 3: [What is your favorite woman best at?]

The programmers were baffled by the three questions.

Zack presented the computer with the hacker's questions to Nathaniel, saying, "Mr. Heilbronn, these three questions are most likely directed at you."

Nathaniel rubbed his forehead, thinking it was quite childish.

He pondered for a long time about who around him could come up with such questions but found no one.

After much thought, he tentatively entered the answers.

Favorite woman: Aurelia

Favorite woman's favorite food: Seafood porridge

Favorite woman's best skill: Design

After entering the answers, he pressed the confirm button.

A few seconds later, the screen displayed the Mickey Mouse making a face again, with a prompt.

Prompt: [Congratulations, you got one question right. You have two more chances.]

Nathaniel's face turned green with anger.

Can't win me back
