Chapter 232 Fight

Elara was stunned by hearing this as if she had been struck by lightning; she had indeed stolen a design.

She thought that Anne, a low-key and relatively unknown designer in the industry, wouldn't know someone as influential as Nathaniel, let alone have any connection with a famous designer like Lolly. If Anne had such connections, why would she run a studio and do all the hard work herself?

Plagiarism was the most despised act in the design world, and she had stolen someone else's design for an interview, only to be called out on the spot.

Elara lowered her head and whispered, "The design isn't mine, but it's not Lolly's either. It's from Anne Studio, Anne's work."

Elara confessed the truth.

Hearing that, Nathaniel narrowed his eyes in thought as if he had uncovered a mystery.

Well, well!

No wonder he thought Anne Studio's design style resembled Aurelia's. It turned out they had stolen the designs, using Aurelia's work to start a studio and expanding over the past four years to the point of needing a larger office.

'They must have made a fortune by now, right?' he thought.

Over four years, how many of Aurelia's designs had the thief stolen? What was their relationship before that allowed them to get so many of Aurelia's works?

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed with suspicion. This time, he wouldn't sit idly by.

He would make sure to severely punish the plagiarist and never let Aurelia suffer again.

Back at the hotel, Nathaniel first called Chris, "Don't bother with Anne Studio anymore. Their lead designer is a plagiarist; they'll be out of business in a few days."

Chris was puzzled on the other end of the line, asking, "Why would they go out of business? I checked online, and they're doing great. Who did they plagiarize to get so popular?"

"I've seen their original designs; they're Lolly's," Nathaniel said calmly.

Chris was stunned. He advised gently, "I see. That's why they've been plagiarizing for years without being reported. Nathaniel, take it easy."

Chris could already imagine Nathaniel's serious face. Given his personality, he would definitely destroy Anne Studio. Customizing jewelry from them was out of the question.

After hanging up, Nathaniel immediately contacted a lawyer to draft a lawsuit against Anne Studio. The design Elara had handed over was the evidence.

Aurelia, unaware of the approaching danger, just felt her eyelids twitching as if it was an ominous omen.

She had many orders to tend to these days and was worried about her two kids, she hadn't rested well, with dark circles forming under her eyes.

She had been looking for a nearly completed draft all day but couldn't find it. Nearing the end of the day, she called her assistant Aurora in, asking, "Has anyone been in my office?"

Aurora thought for a moment. As long as she was on duty, she hadn't seen anyone enter the office alone, but after work hours, she wasn't sure.

"Anna, did you lose something important? Should I check the surveillance footage?" she asked.

"Go ahead, bring me the results," Aurelia instructed.

Aurelia rubbed her temples, feeling unwell.

A cup of milk tea appeared beside her. Thinking it was from Aurora, she didn't look up and said, "Thanks."

A voice said, "You're working so hard; why not take a few days off? You can't make all the money in the world."

Hearing the voice, Aurelia looked up and saw Caleb standing in front of her desk in a well-tailored suit.

Aurelia asked him with a hint of surprise in her tone, "Caleb, why are you here?"

Seeing Aurelia's tired face, Caleb felt almost heartbroken. He piled the documents on her desk and closed her laptop.

Caleb insisted with concern, "Why are you working yourself to death? Come on, let's go relax."

Aurelia rubbed her temples, saying, "Caleb, I haven't finished my work yet, you..."

Before she could finish, Caleb had already picked up her bag from the coat rack.

"Are you coming or not?" Caleb said as he gestured at her to come along.

Aurelia stood up and followed him, walking sullenly towards the elevator.

The elevator doors opened, and they both walked in. Aurelia saw her reflection in the mirror, looking tired despite having makeup on.

Caleb stood behind her, feeling a pang of heartache at her appearance. He thought that if he were lucky enough to marry her, he would never let her be so exhausted.

At that moment, Aurelia's phone rang. She answered it in front of Caleb, and her expression changed after a few short sentences.

"I'll be right there,"with that said, Aurelia hung up the phone.

Aurelia said with urgency, "Caleb, I'm sorry, I can't go to dinner with you. Maybe another time."

Caleb asked, "What happened?"

Aurelia revealed, "Jacob and Dorothy got into a fight with other kids at kindergarten. I have to go."

Caleb looked at the dark circles under her eyes and said, "Can you drive in this state? Let me take you there."

Aurelia indeed felt exhausted and a bit powerless, then she said, "Then I'll trouble you. I'll treat you to dinner later."

Caleb grinned, "Sure, it's a deal."

At the kindergarten.

Jacob and Dorothy stood against the wall in the teacher's office, heads down, looking tearful.

In the office, the other parents had already arrived. The kid they fought with was named Thiago, who had a bleeding arm because it was a fight of two against one.

Thiago was crying loudly, being comforted by his parents.

Thiago had been beaten and bitten at the kindergarten, and his parents were understandably infuriated.

The principal and teachers were carefully apologizing, "We're very sorry for our negligence. On behalf of the kindergarten, I apologize to you and your child."

Thiago's mom cast a venomous glance at the siblings against the wall and snorted, "What's the use of an apology? My son's hand is bitten. Can your kindergarten take responsibility for that?"

The principal said, "Kids fighting is inevitable. We've already informed Jacob and Dorothy's mom about it. If you agree to a settlement, we'll waive a year's tuition for your child. How about that?"

Thiago's dad, who had been silent, finally spoke, "Principal, do you think we can't afford the tuition? This is a private kindergarten; We don't lack the money."

Thiago's mom echoed, "Exactly. My son was abused at your kindergarten, and the other parents must give us an explanation. If anyone dares to bully my son again, I'll break their head!"

Aurelia and Caleb arrived at the office just in time to hear their harsh words.

She knocked on the door, saw her two little ones standing against the wall, holding their tears, and couldn't care about anything else. She went straight in and hugged her kids.

Thiago's mom, seeing Aurelia enter, got even more aggressive.

She asked aggressively, "Jacob's mom, your two kids bit my son. What are you going to do about it?"

Thiago, emboldened by his parents, cried even louder, as if he had suffered a great injustice.

Thiago's dad, holding his son, looked at Aurelia and her two kids against the wall with eyes full of hatred, as if he wanted to eat them alive.

Can't win me back
