Chapter 180 Take Her to See a Psychiatrist

Nathaniel's car screeched to a halt at the hospital, and he rushed Chelsea to the OB-GYN emergency room.

Doctors checked her out thoroughly. She was scared, and to keep the baby safe, the doctors suggested she stay for observation. She had minor knee injuries, ligature marks on her arms, and some bruises on her face, but nothing major.

Nathaniel felt relieved Chelsea wasn't seriously hurt. The past day and night had been a nightmare, but it wasn't as bad as he feared.

Chelsea was still unconscious, so he told Zack to stay with her and headed to another wing of the hospital to get answers from Aurelia.

When he got to Aurelia's ward, she was packing up to leave. She ignored him, fumbling with her bandaged hands. She had a minor cold made worse by exhaustion and hated the hospital's disinfectant smell. Childhood trauma from seeing Brenda die in a hospital made her prefer recovering at home.

"Did you do that?" Nathaniel asked suddenly.

Aurelia paused, biting her lip. "What are you talking about? Be clear if you want an answer."

Nathaniel, arms crossed, glared at her. "Why did you do that? Do you know what you've done? Maria's losing it, and Chelsea's still unconscious."

Aurelia was used to Nathaniel always siding with Chelsea. She snapped back, "Why don't you ask what she did first?"

Nathaniel scoffed, "She's been locked up the past two days and couldn't have done anything! Does she have a clone?"

Seeing no point in arguing, Aurelia dismissed him. "Leave. I need to change."

She wanted to leave but only had the pajamas she wore when she rushed out.

Nathaniel glanced at the clothes on the bed and mocked, "Leaving in that? Not afraid of others seeing you, but me?"

Aurelia shot him a look of pure disdain, too angry to speak.

Just then, Zack called. Nathaniel answered and asked, "What's up?"

"Mr. Heilbronn, Miss Thompson woke up. She's crying, saying her stomach hurts."

Nathaniel got nothing useful from Aurelia, who neither confirmed nor denied anything. He suspected she was the culprit but had no time to deal with her now. Grabbing his phone, he rushed to Chelsea's room.

In Chelsea's room, an extra bed had been added, and Maria was also admitted.

Seeing Nathaniel, Norman ignored Maria's ramblings and hurried over with a forced smile. "Mr. Heilbronn, please help Chelsea! We need to report this to the police and catch whoever did this. My poor daughter almost had a miscarriage!"

Norman emphasized Chelsea's pregnancy, hoping to provoke Nathaniel.

Nathaniel already knew the details from the doctors, so Norman's act disgusted him.

Thinking of Aurelia's infuriating face, he warned Norman, "Don't call the cops. If you do, kiss your project goodbye."

Norman turned pale, covering his mouth. "I won't report. I am sure you will handle it."

In the room, Chelsea kept complaining about stomach pain. After checking her, the doctors told Nathaniel, "Miss Thompson might be having stress-induced contractions. We need to calm her down for the baby's sake."

Nathaniel nodded. "Do whatever it takes. Keep her safe."

After an injection, Chelsea calmed down and fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Maria had completely lost it. She babbled incoherently, ignored everyone, and couldn't focus. Her hair was a mess, but at least she was in a clean hospital gown and no longer smelled.

Nathaniel looked at her with disdain. The room was a VIP single, but due to Norman's urgency and the lack of other single rooms, the nurse added an extra bed for Maria. But now, her unstable condition was disturbing Chelsea's rest.

"Move her to the psych ward," Nathaniel ordered coldly.

Norman couldn't believe Maria had gone mad. Taking her out would be too embarrassing. He thought she might recover after some sleep or rest.

Embarrassed and in denial about Maria's condition, he suggested, "Mr. Heilbronn, let's observe her a bit longer."

Nathaniel frowned, his sharp gaze cutting through Norman. He really hated this couple. "This is the OB-GYN ward. Is she pregnant or giving birth?"

Norman was scared into silence.

Just then, Zack walked in. "Mr. Heilbronn, our men at the airport picked up the specialist from Melicia. He's on the way to Diamond Crest Estates."

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, then looked at the sleeping Chelsea. He told Zack, "Get more bodyguards for her."

With Chelsea in this state, more tests were out of the question.

Norman overheard and panicked. The specialist Nathaniel arranged was coming, and they had yet to make a plan. Once the specialist examined Chelsea, the truth would come out.

As Nathaniel left, Norman was frantic. With one woman mad and the other asleep, he had no one to strategize with. The situation was dire, and he didn't know when Nathaniel would bring the specialist.

Harming the specialist was impossible now with extra bodyguards. Norman was losing it.

Nathaniel left, torn between Aurelia's innocent yet cunning look and Chelsea's fearful face.

He had left Aurelia's room without finishing their talk just now, so he went back, only to find it empty. Outside, the same two young nurses from yesterday were whispering as he passed.

At the nurse's station, Nathaniel asked, "Where's the patient from Room 1206?" The young nurse hesitated, then replied, "She just completed discharge."

Nathaniel still didn't know why she was kept in the hospital. Remembering he had yet to find Dr. Perez yesterday, he headed to the outpatient building with Zack.

She hadn't told him about her stay in the hospital and had now left without a word, leaving Nathaniel feeling truly unsettled.

Can't win me back
