Chapter 451 Do I Lack a Car?

On the other side, Aurelia and Nova were chatting when someone tapped her shoulder from behind.

Aurelia turned around to see Phoenix's cute face right in front of her. He was dressed casually today, giving off a clean, big-boy vibe.

"Aurelia, didn't we agree that you'd call me when you arrived so I could pick you up? Did you forget my number?"

Aurelia explained, "No, there were servants outside to guide me. I wouldn't get lost, so I didn't want to trouble you."

Phoenix ran a hand through his hair, "It's no trouble. I've been waiting for your call. My family's yard is huge. Want me to show you around?"

Nova, who had been classmates with Phoenix for a few years, stood quietly on the side, watching him flirt with her goddess while ignoring his old classmate.

Seeing his eagerness, she couldn't help but wonder if her brother had another competitor.

No wonder Phoenix didn't fancy anyone. The former school beauty went to great lengths to get his number and contact him, but he handed his phone to his agent. This story spread among the alumni, saying he had become a star with high standards, and no woman could catch his eye.

It turned out he liked mature women.

"Phoenix?" Nova waved her hand, and Phoenix gave her a perfunctory wave before turning back to talk eagerly to Aurelia.

"Aurelia, I have some work-related questions I want to discuss with you. It's not easy to see you, so why not chat today?"

Mentioning work, Aurelia didn't refuse anymore, "Alright, but not for too long."

Phoenix led the way to a quieter place. The Sawyer family's yard was indeed large; without a guide, one could easily get lost.

They stopped near a rock garden, and Phoenix pointed to an open space not far away, "I used to play here a lot as a kid. There used to be a swing, but my dad said boys shouldn't play with swings as they grow up, so he cleared the area and planted grass for me to play soccer."

Aurelia said, "Boys should exercise to grow strong. Didn't you say you had work questions for me?"

Phoenix hesitated, his brain working quickly, and finally came up with a question, "Aurelia, can I visit your company sometime? I'd like to experience the atmosphere at Karma Jewelry. Your company must have a strong artistic vibe, right?"

Aurelia thought, 'What kind of work question is that?'

"The company might be different from what you imagine. If you want to experience an artistic vibe, you should visit an exhibition."

Phoenix smiled, "Aurelia, do you really not remember me?"

Aurelia was stunned, "Have we met before?"

"In 2020, at Coral Bay. I was surrounded by paparazzi, and you helped me get out of the crowd. Don't you remember?"

Aurelia thought back to 2020 and did recall helping someone while shopping on a weekend, but she didn't realize it was Phoenix.

At that time, he wore a low baseball cap and a black mask, covering everything but his ears.

"Sorry, I didn't recognize you."

Phoenix smiled, "It's okay. As long as I remember you. I wanted to thank you properly back then, but you disappeared into the crowd too quickly. It bothered me for a while."

"It was just a small favor. You don't need to dwell on it."

"Yes, if it's meant to be, we'll meet again. The day Mr. Sinclair arranged for us to have dinner, I recognized you immediately."

The sun was setting, and the sky was gradually dimming.

The streetlights in front of the rock garden suddenly lit up.

Phoenix looked up, "Do you want me to get you a jacket?"

It wasn't cold this season, but there were mosquitoes.

Aurelia waved her hand, "No need, let's go inside."

"Alright."

They had just taken a few steps when a deep male voice came from behind, "Everyone's looking for you. You're not answering your phone or messages. What are you doing here? The cake cutting is about to start."

They both turned around, and Phoenix whispered to Aurelia, "My dad."

"Dad, I had some work to discuss. I'll be right back."

"What work needs to be discussed now? Your grandmother will be worried."

Phoenix frowned slightly. His family never respected his career as a star, especially his father, who always thought he was fooling around and wanted to drag him back to inherit the family business.

"Dad, let me introduce you. This is Ms. Aurelia Semona, the founder of the brand I'm about to collaborate with. She just won an international jewelry design award. In the past ten years, our country has only won this award twice, both times by Ms. Semona. Impressive, right?"

Dominic's gaze lingered on Aurelia for a few seconds, not really hearing what his son said.

Aurelia politely greeted, "Mr. Sawyer, nice to meet you."

Dominic snapped out of it, "Ms. Semona! Nice to meet you. Phoenix didn't trouble you, did he?"

"Phoenix is very capable."

Phoenix proudly tilted his head back, looking at his father with a hint of defiance in his eyes.

Dominic invited her, "Let's go inside. The birthday party is about to start."

The three of them walked towards the villa.

Nathaniel came out to meet them. He had been looking for Aurelia inside for a while, couldn't reach her by phone, and heard she had gone outside, so he hurried out.

"Mr. Sawyer." Nathaniel greeted the three of them politely and then extended his hand to Aurelia.

Dominic's gaze shifted between them, and Nathaniel explained, "She is my girlfriend."

Dominic understood, "Feel free. I'll go inside first."

He then walked inside, leaving the three of them to walk slowly.

Nathaniel asked, "Aurelia, why did you come out suddenly and not answer your phone?"

Aurelia took her phone out of her purse, "My phone was on silent."

"I talked to Ashley for a bit and then couldn't find you."

"I forgot to tell you when I came out."

Phoenix listened to their casual yet inexplicably intimate conversation, feeling uneasy. He never imagined that the person he admired as a child and his goddess would be a couple.

If he had known this day would come, he would never have admired him.

"Nathaniel, I just got a new car. Want to try it out?" Phoenix squeezed between them, his actions a bit deliberate.

Nathaniel glared at him, "Do I lack a car?"

"You really lack this one! It's a global limited edition. I spent a lot of money to get it and have only driven it once. Want to check it out?"

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. Phoenix had loved cars since he was little. How could he bear to let others see a new car he had only driven once? He used to treat a toy car like a treasure.

Nathaniel asked, "Now?"
