Chapter 135 A Kiss

Aurelia smiled, "No way I can hide him. You should call him."

Oscar shook the phone in his hand. "He hung up on me. He usually hangs up on people when he's in a bad mood. Could it be that the business has been losing money recently?"

Aurelia shrugged. "I'm not sure."

Oscar put away his phone. "Aurelia, you go ahead and have fun. I'll go look for him."

Aurelia nodded. "Sure."

Aurelia took some low-sugar fruit while Tiffany approached her.

"Aurelia, why are you here? We're playing games over there. Come over quickly."

Tiffany enthusiastically pulled Aurelia towards the crowd. When the boss's wife approached, everyone quickly made way for her.

Upon seeing Aurelia join, the host came over and handed her a numbered card, reminding her, "Don't lose it.; You'll need it for the game later."

Ashley was also in the crowd, with Caleb standing beside her unenthusiastically.

When Caleb saw Aurelia arrive, he left Ashley's side and made his way through the crowd. "Ms. Semona, you're here too?"

Aurelia nodded and smiled.

Caleb asked, "It's pretty boring here. Would you like to find a quiet place for a drink?"

Aurelia raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry. I can't drink right now."

Caleb persisted, "How about a drink alcohol-free?"

Aurelia looked uncomfortable; she couldn't even drink sugary drinks. She was pondering how to refuse when Ashley came over energetically. She hooked her arm with Caleb's, displaying a possessive air.

"What's wrong with you? He's my fiancé. How dare you flirt with him in front of so many people?"

Feeling embarrassed, Caleb coldly pushed away her arm. "Ashley, please behave yourself. Let's talk to Reed at a more appropriate time. We're not a good match."

Being publicly rejected for marriage was very embarrassing for Ashley. She had intended to confront Aurelia, but her fiancé didn't give a damn about her, publicly humiliating her and making it impossible for her to keep her dignity in front of the Heilbronn Group employees or the influential social circles.

"You, unfaithful man!" She cursed, tears streaming down her face instantly.

Feeling he had gone too far, Caleb apologized, although it was her being disrespectful. He had acted impulsively and embarrassed her in public.

"Ashley, I'm sorry. Let's discuss this privately. I need to talk to Ms. Semona about something. Please don't say things that could be misunderstood. Neither of us can afford to shame our family here."

The implication was clear—everyone present had status and reputation, and such disrespectful words were inappropriate in this setting.

Ashley ran out crying.

Aurelia asked Caleb, "Do you need something from me?"

Caleb nodded. "Can we find a place to talk? No drinking."

Feeling a bit awkward, Aurelia thought he could have just said he needed to talk. In that case, she wouldn't have had to rack her brain for an excuse to refuse. "Let's go then."

The two walked away from the crowd to the dessert area. Everyone was in the gaming area now, eager not to miss the mysterious grand prize of the night. No one was indulging in the desserts, waiting for the prize draw.

With no one around them, Caleb said, "Wath out, Chelsea is here. I saw that woman carrying something on her. Be careful with anything from others."

Aurelia was startled. If Chelsea went crazy and made a move, it would certainly be directed at her. She hadn't brought the two bodyguards Marcus had given her on this trip, so she had to be careful on her own.

"Mr. Sinclair, thank you. But how do you know she intends harm towards me?"

Caleb knew very well. He had suspected Nathaniel's affairs during their last golf game. He used to admire his old classmate, considering him a role model for his excellent business acumen and the way he managed the company so well. But now, seeing his messy personal life, Caleb's opinion of him had changed. He even looked down on him—a playboy who couldn't appreciate his goddess.

"Anyway, just be careful."

As they chatted, the host in the gaming area announced through the microphone, "Everyone, hold onto your number. Don't lose them or exchange them with others. The game is starting now."

Caleb tilted his head towards the gaming area and asked, "Shall we go and join the fun?"

The two returned to the crowd.

The computer program next to the host was running, and the screen displayed two rows of numbers scrolling quickly. The host explained the game rules through the microphone, "Everyone, pay attention to the computer in front of you. We will randomly select two numbers that are separately held by a male and a female. The person with the higher number can request anything from the other with the lower number, and those selected will receive a prize."

Everyone eagerly picked up their number cards, anticipating winning a prize.

The screen data was scrolling, and the host pressed the pause button. The number for this round's lucky male was 98and 34 for the lucky woman. The two selected individuals were pushed into the center of the crowd.

The male was a shy employee from the tech department. He mustered up the courage to make a request, "Can you introduce me to someone? I don't know many girls."

After his request, the crowd buzzed with excitement.

The female nodded. "No problem. I'll help you with that."

Oscar and Nathaniel had just come from the deck and heard about the game. Oscar looked at his number card, pink 29, then took Nathaniel's card and asked, "Why is yours blue and mine pink?"

Nathaniel's face finally relaxed a bit, and he joked, "The blue one is for guys. You figure out yours."

Oscar chuckled, "Who gave me this number? I'll find out."

As they were talking, the host announced the new numbers selected—51 for the male participant and 29 for the female participant.

Oscar paused, looked at his card a few times, and confirmed that his number had been chosen.

Damn it!

The number for the female participant had been called for a while. The host increased the volume through the microphone, "All female participants, pay attention to your number cards. Pink 29, please come forward to claim your prize. Don't miss this opportunity."

Oscar felt embarrassed as if he were holding a time bomb. Nathaniel, seeing his hesitation, spoke up for him: "Pink 29 is here."

Countless eyes immediately turned towards them. Oscar cursed under his breath, "Nathaniel, you rogue."

Facing the numerous eyes, Oscar walked forward and saw the person standing on the prize podium. He felt utterly defeated, "What are you doing here?"

Ulysses raised his number card, saying calmly, "I got lucky."

At that moment, the host spoke again, "For the second round, the rules have changed. The two selected participants need to kiss."
