Chapter 374 Give It a Try
The past experiences made it difficult for her to unconditionally trust someone again. Rebuilding trust was not an easy task.

Aurelia's nervous heart gradually settled, "Then I'll try to accept you, but don't push me."

He firmly believed that they both had loved before, and he would make up for the four years of emptiness. "I won't push you."
They stayed in the kitchen for a long time, talking for a long time, and when they came out, it was already midnight.
Dorothy had kicked off the blanket, and Aurelia gently pulled it back over her.
The four of them lay in the small tent. This time, Nathaniel didn't dare to move recklessly. Instead, he slept facing the tent door, with his back to her.
By dawn, somehow, Aurelia had rolled into his arms again.
In the morning, Jacob was the first to wake up. Aurelia heard the noise and opened her eyes, finding Dorothy awake too. She looked up to see Nathaniel watching her, still in the same position.
At some point, her head had ended up resting on his arm.
She was usually a light sleeper, but last night she slept soundly, and she was the last one in the family to wake up.
Seeing Jacob and Dorothy witnessing them cuddling like this, Aurelia felt a bit embarrassed. She quickly sat up and tidied her hair. Fortunately, the two kids didn't say anything inappropriate.
It was the weekend, and Nathaniel didn't have to go to work, but he had a meeting to attend at home.
The two kids were not very happy about not being able to go out and play. They were bored with the toys at home. Especially Jacob, who was violently manipulating a robot, making constant noise.
Aurelia washed some clothes and came downstairs to see Jacob sulking with the robot.
"Jacob, you can't make noise. Daddy is in a meeting."
Jacob ignored her and continued to play with the robot angrily. Aurelia walked down the stairs, her voice a bit more stern, "Jacob, you're going to break the wall."
Jacob stopped moving the robot, standing there with a stubborn look, not daring to move but unwilling to admit his mistake.
He didn't think it was wrong to want to go out and play!
At this moment, Nathaniel came out of the study, "What happened?"
Aurelia explained, "Nothing, Jacob was playing with the robot."
Jacob pouted, looking up at Nathaniel defiantly, "When will you finish? If you don't play with me soon, I'll tell everyone you kissed Mommy secretly last night."
Aurelia was shocked.
Aurelia stood there in a daze.
Yesterday, Jacob did turn over a few times and talked in his sleep. Aurelia couldn't imagine that the child was pretending to sleep and even eavesdropped on their conversation.
She carefully thought about whether they had said anything inappropriate in the tent yesterday. Her mind was in a mess, and she couldn't remember anything.
She had seen a topic online before, asking what surprising things people had accidentally seen. The replies were varied, but the most upvoted ones were almost all about accidentally seeing their parents being intimate. They didn't understand it at the time but remembered it, and it would be embarrassing to think about it as adults.
Aurelia never thought she would become one of those parents in those posts.
Compared to her reaction, Nathaniel remained calm. "Jacob, come here."
Jacob didn't obediently go over, wearing a look of having something on his dad.
Nathaniel took a long stride over, picked him up with one hand, and walked into the study.
The study door was left open. Aurelia stood there in a daze, then heard the sound from the computer in the study, "Mr. Heilbronn's little one is so handsome. Is he joining us for the meeting?"
Aurelia was already numb. He was still in the meeting, so Jacob's shout just now must have been heard by the people on the other side of the meeting.
In the study, Nathaniel put Jacob on his lap, and the meeting continued. The senior leaders on the other side of the video teased him, and Jacob wasn't shy at all, chatting with the uncles and aunts in the video for a few minutes.
Nathaniel wanted to quickly end the meeting, "Alright, let's get back to the meeting. The proposal just now was good. If anyone has other opinions, please bring them up now."
The atmosphere quickly returned to its previous seriousness.

Jacob pouted and honestly replied, "I fell asleep, but you woke me up later."
Nathaniel cleared his throat. He had never encountered this situation before and suddenly didn't know how to explain it to Jacob.
After thinking for a long time, he said, "Jacob, you might not understand adult matters now. Daddy loves Mommy, and that's our way of expressing it."
Jacob, feeling indignant for his mommy, retorted, "But I clearly heard Mommy making sounds of reluctance. Do you think what you did was right? Mommy told me that you shouldn't force others to do things. It's disrespectful. If you do that to Mommy again, I won't talk to you anymore."
Nathaniel rubbed his forehead. How was he supposed to explain this to a child?
"Mommy wasn't unwilling. Look, she's in a good mood now and isn't upset about what happened yesterday."
