Chapter 315 Look at Our Home

After finding Aurelia again, Nathaniel slowly came back to life from his previously dead and silent life.

His life now had hope and light.

Aurelia played with her hands, knowing that he hadn't had it easy these past few years, even needing to see a psychologist to live normally.

Even if he never really liked Chelsea, his past actions directly caused these annoying misunderstandings.

She couldn't let it go.

The car fell silent again.

At this moment, a familiar voice came,

"Is Mr. Heilbronn back?"

Betty had already gone to bed, but hearing the car, she threw on some clothes and ran out. She had been staying here alone for the past few years, waiting for the couple to return.

Nathaniel had instructed her that even though Aurelia wasn't home, the house should be arranged as she liked it, with everything in its usual place. The bed linens in the bedroom were to be regularly changed, even if no one used them. The potted plants Aurelia bought from the flower shop needed to be well taken care of, and her favorite kitchenware and tea sets had to be regularly disinfected.

Betty had lived alone in the house for four years, helping Nathaniel keep the house. Seeing the things Aurelia left behind made her feel it was a pity. The year Aurelia had the car accident, Betty had cried in the house. A perfectly good home had fallen apart just like that.

The villa had been quiet for too long, with no signs of life for four years.

Hearing the car, which sounded like Nathaniel's Bentley, she hurriedly ran out in her slippers.

Nathaniel opened the car door and got out,

"Betty, you're still up?"

Betty was quite excited to see Nathaniel, saying,

"Not yet. I am going to cook something tasty for you. Mr. Heilbronn, what would you like to eat?"

Nathaniel turned back to the car and asked,

"Aurelia, what would you like to eat?"

Betty froze in place, doubting her ears. Did Mr. Heilbronn just call Mrs. Heilbronn's name?

Before she could react, she heard a response from the car,

"Anything is fine."

The gentle voice was indeed Aurelia's.

Betty was stunned and moved closer. The next second, she saw Aurelia get out of the passenger seat. She was so shocked that she couldn't hold back her tears, which flowed uncontrollably,

"Mrs. Heilbronn, is it really you?"

She had thought Aurelia had passed away four years ago. The incident had caused a huge stir, and almost everyone in Imperick knew that Aurelia from the Heilbronn Group had died in a car accident while pregnant with twins.

Seeing Aurelia again felt like a dream to Betty.

Aurelia said with a slight smile,

"Betty, thank you for everything."

Betty wiped her face, her voice choked with emotion, saying,

"It's not a bother for me at all.. I'm just glad Mrs. Heilbronn is back. I'll go prepare a few dishes now. You must be tired, go inside and rest. I'll call you when it's ready."

"Betty, there's no rush."

They went inside together.

Nathaniel bent down and took out two pairs of slippers from the shoe cabinet, one purple and one gray, the ones they used to wear four years ago, still well-preserved.

Betty had kept the house clean. Apart from the coldness, everything was just as it was four years ago. Even the wind chime Aurelia had made by hand in front of the floor-to-ceiling window was spotless.

Aurelia's feelings were very complicated . She never thought she would come back. She had believed she would never return to Imperick, let alone the Bloom Villa.

The house was filled with traces of their life together, even after four years.

Nathaniel asked with a slight smile,

"Do you want to go upstairs and take a look?"

Aurelia tilted her head back, trying to control her emotions.

"I think I'd better not go up."

Nathaniel chuckled softly and then grabbed her wrist, saying,

"Come up and see your bags. They were bought but never even looked at by their owner, they must feel neglected."

He led her up the stairs.

Passing the second floor, Aurelia couldn't help but glance towards the study. At this time, Nathaniel used to be in there working, but now it was dark.

The voice-activated lights on the stairs lit up with their steps, making the villa, which had been silent for four years, seem alive again.

They soon reached the bedroom door. Aurelia's throat tightened, and she felt too afraid to go in.

The memories of past came rushing back to her, like a scabbed wound reopening, revealing that it had never truly healed.

Aurelia couldn't deceive herself, she had never really let go, All these years, she had only been numbing herself with work.

Nathaniel turned on the bedroom light. The bed was made with Aurelia's favorite set of linens, the ones she had personally brought back from the shop.

The small items on the bedside table were things she had picked up at the night market, and her pajamas were neatly folded by Betty and placed by the pillow.

Everything in the room was just as it was when she left four years ago, as if time had been paused.

In a daze, Aurelia was led into the room by Nathaniel.

She kept her head down, not daring to look around the master bedroom.

Four years ago, after she left, Nathaniel had come back once to retrieve some important documents. Now, he carefully looked around the room, his heart and eyes filled with warmth as he looked at her.

They were back.

"Aurelia, want to check out the walk-in closet?"

The wall of designer bags was still arranged in the order she had left them, and on the changing bench was a box of baby clothes. Nathaniel had found them when he came back alone and had cried for a long time holding the tiny clothes. He hadn't had the courage to take them away, so he had left them there.

Betty had kept everything in the house exactly as it was, not moving a single item.

Seeing the baby clothes, Nathaniel paused for a long time.

If it weren't that incident four years ago, their baby would be in preschool by now, probably quite tall.

His eyes welled up and said,

"Aurelia, did you buy these clothes?"

Aurelia nodded, her gaze falling on the baby outfit. She had carefully chosen it at the mall, but it had never been used.

"If they're not needed, we should give them away. Why keep them?"

Nathaniel's heart ached, saying,

"Aurelia, these are the clothes you bought for our baby. How can we give them away?"

"It's a waste to leave these clothes here."

"Aurelia!"

Nathaniel couldn't understand. As parents, they should share the same pain of losing their baby. How could she so casually suggest giving away the baby's things?

He wondered if she was angry at him and taking it out on the two children.

"Aurelia, even though the baby never wore these clothes, in their hearts, these are the clothes their mom bought for them. We can't give them away."

Aurelia unconsciously scratched her arm. She just thought it was a waste to keep the clothes there and had said it offhandedly, not expecting such a strong reaction from him.

Can't win me back
