Chapter 98 He Won't Spoil Her Anymore

"Aurelia, you must fulfill the promise you made to Dad on the phone. You said you would divorce Nathaniel. Dad begs you to give Chelsea a way out."

Norman knelt on the ground, wiping away tears.

It took Aurelia a while to react, taking a step back. She was taken aback by Norman's actions.

"Mr. Thompson, please don't do this. You owe apologies to my mom and Penelope. You should go to the cemetery and kneel in front of their graves."

Norman lifted his head, his eyes filled with hatred.

"We are father and daughter. Don't you even call me Dad anymore?"

"The day Penelope took me away from home, you said that you would not take her as your mother, and you don't recognize me as your daughter. Let's treat each other as strangers from now on. Have you forgotten what you said? Besides, I never promised you anything over the phone. It's you who always tries to sabotage our marriage, coercing and tempting me to divorce him. Why don't you ask Nathaniel now, while we're all here if he agrees to divorce me and marry Chelsea?"

At this moment, Chelsea, leaning against the bed wiping her tears, suddenly sat up and stared straight at Nathaniel. All eyes in the room were on him.

Nathaniel had just showered and changed into clean clothes, still carrying some moisture.

He walked over to Aurelia and pulled her into his arms, creating a clear distance from Norman, his eyes full of vigilance. Just seeing Norman made him think of the last time in the hospital when Norman slapped Aurelia. It still made his blood boil when he thought about it; Therefore, he didn’t show any respect for Norman.

"Please stay away from my wife," Nathaniel said.

His words were full of disdain for Norman. Nathaniel naturally exuded a strong presence, combined with his serious demeanor, which startled Norman.

Norman's mouth twitched a few times as he slowly got up from the ground.

"Nathaniel, why don't you just marry both of my daughters? I'm helpless. Chelsea's life is in your hands. I'm a useless father. I can't bear to watch her seek death. If she dies, I can't live either."

Aurelia's worldview collapsed. She looked at Norman in disbelief. He had received a high education, managing a not-so-small publicly traded company, yet he proposed such a morally bankrupt request.

She didn't know that Chelsea's way of using her life as leverage was inherited from Norman. She was trying to force Nathaniel and the whole family by threatening with death, which was despicable.

Nathaniel had been tolerating Chelsea repeatedly because he owed her a life, not Norman. He wouldn't accept him; his initial dislike of Norman had now turned into disgust.

"Get out!"

Nathaniel's words silenced Norman.

At this moment, Chelsea, holding a corner of the blanket, cried pitifully.

"Nathaniel, it's my fault. Don't blame my Dad. I made Aurelia unhappy. I apologize to Aurelia. I'm sorry, Aurelia."

Nathaniel frowned, feeling extremely irritated by Chelsea's pitiful plea.

"Aurelia, you go back first," Nathaniel said wearily to Aurelia, then dialed Zack's number.

"Come up and take Mrs. Heilbronn home."

Zack arrived quickly, probably waiting in the car.

Aurelia left the ward, feeling uneasy. She couldn't think of a good way to get rid of Chelsea. She was like a barnacle attached to a whale, and Nathaniel was the unfortunate whale entangled by her.

It seemed like an unsolvable problem.

As she watched the rapidly retreating street scenes, her mood worsened.

It wasn't until the car pulled back into the Bloom Villa that Aurelia snapped out of her daze.

Zack parked the car and hesitated for a while before speaking.

"Mrs. Heilbronn, we're here."

Aurelia regained her composure and prepared to get out of the car.

"Mrs. Heilbronn."

Zack hesitated for a while before speaking.

"For crazy women like Chelsea, I don't think it's necessary to reason with her like with normal people. It's completely unnecessary."

Zack implied that they had all been too indulgent with Chelsea, leading her to take everyone's tolerance for granted. Once something didn't go her way, she resorted to extreme measures to force others.

"I won't indulge her anymore."

Aurelia grabbed her bag and got out of the car.

The next day, she clocked in for work as usual.

The atmosphere in the design department improved slightly without Chelsea. People discussed work more relaxedly without worrying about whose opinions to cater to.

The harmonious work environment tensed up again as soon as Aurelia walked in.

Aurelia could clearly feel a significant change in how everyone treated her. People were nodding and greeting her frequently as she entered the building, giving her a sense of admiration that made her uncomfortable.

Tiffany glided over in her office chair with a smug look on her face.

"Aurelia, I saw the posts on the intranet. You and Mr. Heilbronn make a great couple."

Aurelia responded with a polite smile.

Tiffany's eyes sparkled when she noticed the diamond ring on Aurelia's ring finger.

"Aurelia, are you getting married soon? Did Mr. Heilbronn propose to you?"

Aurelia pushed Tiffany's chair back to its original position, saying, "Focus on your work. Now is not the time for gossip."

Tiffany, full of anticipation, still wanted to get some inside information from her. She was simply curious. The unassuming assistant from the design department winning the first prize in the internal evaluation shocked everyone, especially since she was their boss. This intrigued Tiffany more than entertainment news.

Tiffany wasn't the only curious one; the entire design department was watching closely.

Aurelia felt like she was under a microscope all morning. She had thought about quietly resigning, but plans changed, and her relationship with Nathaniel was now public.

In the restroom, Aurelia ran into Amy.

Amy, seeing Aurelia enter through the mirror at the sink, avoided eye contact, completely losing her previous arrogance.

She was a very materialistic person who had used Chelsea as a background before, relying on her to show off and offending Aurelia in the process. She had never let go of her grudge against the new assistant.

Little did she know she had backed the wrong horse; Chelsea was a fraud.

Now, Amy regretted it deeply, feeling scared and wanting to slap herself for the taunts she had thrown at Aurelia a few days ago.

She wasn't sure if Aurelia held a grudge against her. Thinking about Nathaniel's reputation, if Aurelia said something bad about her to him, she didn't know what would happen to her.

With these thoughts, Amy felt like she was on the verge of losing her job.

In reality, when Aurelia entered, she glanced at Amy without paying attention to her. Amy was already uncomfortable, imagining Aurelia's revenge.

As Aurelia left the restroom, she saw Amy nervously pacing back and forth in the corridor outside the design department.

As Aurelia approached, she immediately stood still, looking at Aurelia with an uneasy expression.

"Aurelia, may I have the honor of inviting you for a cup of coffee?"
