Chapter 206 Her Family

After a morning of emergency treatment, the doctor directly informed Joe to prepare for Aurelia's funeral.

Joe refused to accept it. He wouldn't give up on Aurelia, even if all she had was a faint pulse. He took her back to Coral Bay on his private jet.

Unexpectedly, after transferring to the hospital in Coral Bay, Aurelia's vital signs gradually improved, giving her a chance at life.

The whole family went from despair to hope, eagerly waiting for her to open her eyes and see the family that was now protecting her. She would no longer be alone; she had a family and support, and no one would dare to bully her easily again.

Aurelia's grandma, Cathy Semona, who had dry eye syndrome and hadn't shed a tear in years, cried until her eyes were red.

She asked Joe, "When will my poor granddaughter wake up? You need to contact experts from around the world and have them diagnose Aurelia. I have lost Brenda, and I can't bear to lose Aurelia too."

Joe patiently comforted her, "Grandma, I've already contacted the best experts in the country. Even if we reach out to other countries, it will take time for the doctors from there to fly here.By then, it might be too late. The doctors said that Aurelia herself has no will to live; she wants to give up on herself."

Cathy wiped her tears and said, "She must be very disappointed at this world. Who on Earth hurt her? I want to meet those scumbags."

Joe paused and comforted, "Don't worry, I won't let those who hurt Aurelia off easily. But now is not the time for revenge; we need to focus on saving her."

The whole family nodded unanimously..

As they were talking, Dr. Fisher, known as the gynecological experts, came out after examining Aurelia.

He said, "Good news, Ms. Semona's babies can still be saved. She didn't hit her stomach this time; it was just shaken when she fell. It's rare for the feutus to survive when the mother is injured this badly. The immediate treatment by the doctors in Imperick played a crucial role."

The family, who had been tense for so long, finally heard some good news and felt both joy and sorrow.

Cathy cried, "The mother must be saved first for the babies to have a chance to be born. Doctor, please think of more ways to save my poor granddaughter."

The doctor nodded. "We will do our best to save her. Since Ms. Semona was transferred to our hospital, her vital signs have been gradually returning to normal, but she still doesn't want to wake up. Maybe you should try to stimulate her? When people are at their most vulnerable, they need encouragement from their loved ones. Sometimes, words from family members can make a crucial difference."

Hearing this, Cathy volunteered, "How about I go in? I haven't had a good look at her yet, and I can talk to her."

The rest nodded, and after the nurse helped Cathy put on sterile clothing, she went into the ward alone.

Cathy carefully looked at Aurelia, who was hooked up to various medical devices. When her gaze settled on Aurelia's face, she couldn't help but choke up.

'She looks exactly like her mother, clearly a member of the Semona family. Unfortunately, her mother was a hopeless romantic who insisted on marrying a bad, poor man who only relied on women, even at the cost of severing ties with her family. And Aurelia must be just much of a romantic fool as her mother to be hurt by a man to this degree,' Cathy thought.

She cried silently in pain, "Aurelia, wake up. I'm your grandma. Your mother Brenda was my daughter. We've finally met. But now, are you going to leave me too, just like your mother?"

Cathy started telling stories about Brenda's childhood,

"Your mother was very headstrong. After graduating from college, she went to Imperick for a trip and met your father. She insisted on marrying him. I didn't agree to the marriage, not because I'm snobbish, but because your father didn't seem reliable.

"Your mother secretly got the marriage licence, which made your grandpa so angry that he fell ill and passed away within a week in the hospital.

"Dear, you need to spend more time getting to know a man, see his character, his way of dealing with people, and his values. You can't just act on impulse.

"Wake up, and let me help you choose a man next time."

Cathy talked for a long time, but there was no response from Aurelia who was lying in bed. She didn't know if Aurelia could hear her rambling.

Cathy continued, "Aurelia, you have a family now. Wake up! Your cousin Samuel has been looking for you for so long, and we've all been waiting for you. The doctor just said your babies are safe. You're a mother now; be brave."

Cathy wiped her eyes and thought she saw Aurelia's fingers move slightly. She wasn't sure if she had seen it correctly. She recalled the last thing she had said to the child and had a sudden realization: she had mentioned the babies.

She added, "Aurelia, your two babies are waiting for you to wake up. They want to see the world and call me great-grandma. Give them a chance to come into this world."

After saying this, she saw Aurelia's fingers move again.

Cathy cried tears of joy and hurried out to call the doctor.

Several experts rushed in and examined Aurelia.

Cathy excitedly told the family what she had just seen, and everyone waited anxiously for the doctor's update, their tension reaching its peak.

Moments later, the doctor came out with a smile, saying, "Congratulations, everyone. The patient has woken up. She can't speak or communicate yet, but after a few more days of observation, she should be out of the critical period and can be moved to a regular ward."

The rest hugged each other and cried with joy, "That's great."

Joe said, "Everyone should go home. I'll stay here and keep watch. When Aurelia wakes up, I'll be the first to call and inform you all."

Cathy frowned and said, "I'm not leaving. I want to stay here until Aurelia wakes up. She just responded to my voice. We have a special connection. What if she can't find me when she wakes up?"

The youngest, Leon Semona, also chimed in, "I'm not leaving. I want to be here when Aunt Aurelia wakes up. I even prepared a gift for her."

Everyone else smiled and said, "We're not leaving either. We'll stay here and watch over her. With so many family members around, she won't be able to resist waking up and won't give up on herself."

Joe's eyes brightened and said, "Alright then, I'll arrange for some folding beds, blankets, food, and drinks. We'll all stay here in the hallway and get through this tough time with Aurelia together!"

The rest nodded, and no one would leave until Aurelia woke up.

Can't win me back
