Chapter 446 Want to Slap This Scumbag

Norman organized his words, his lips trembling as he slowly began to speak."That year, the company was just starting out. Your mom volunteered to handle social engagements. I don't know which business partner she slept with, but that night, she came back pregnant with you."

Aurelia clenched her dress tightly, her knuckles turning white.

"Norman, you're still lying! My mom is dead because of you, and you dare to say such things to tarnish her reputation? She turned her back on her own family to be with you, a penniless man, to help you build your business. How could you treat her like this?"

Aurelia was emotional, her eyes bloodshot, and she angrily continued, "My mom would never betray you. The one who betrayed the family is you, you disgusting man!"

Aurelia remembered how humbly her mother loved. She clearly remembered Norman staying at his lover's house, using business trips as an excuse, while her mom waited through countless long nights.

She took care of the household and even invested all her savings into his company. If she didn't truly love him, she wouldn't have left herself no way out.

Nathaniel stood behind, putting an arm around Aurelia's shoulder. Seeing her so upset made him feel bad too. He had long suspected that Norman wouldn't easily spill the truth, so he thought about adding some pressure.

Nathaniel said, "Norman, you've done quite a few shady things while running your company over the years, haven't you? I wouldn't mind having someone look into it. How about I consult a lawyer to see if any of your actions could get you the death penalty?"

Norman was shocked, confirming his worst fears. If he completely fell out with Aurelia, Nathaniel would come after him.

He was truly scared, thinking back on all the things he had done over the years.

Tax evasion, soliciting prostitutes, embezzlement, and more...

He couldn't bear to think about it, his mind a chaotic mess. "Don't say that, the police might misunderstand. Ask me anything, and I'll tell you the truth."

Aurelia, her eyes red, warned, "If you slander my mom one more time, I won't let you off!"

Norman licked his lips, calming down. The next words he spoke were cautious, leaving himself some room.

"That year, there was indeed a social engagement with some big shots from Imperick, a group I couldn't get into on my own. I begged someone to take me, and I did my homework. I knew one of the bosses liked women, so I... I brought your mom along, I..."

At this point, Norman didn't dare continue. He couldn't mention that he had drugged Brenda to trick her into going. He glossed over the details.

Aurelia's heart ached, "Why would my mom fall in love with someone like you? As a man, you sent your own wife to another man's bed. What kind of person are you? Are you even human?"

Aurelia couldn't understand. Norman's words gave her a new perspective on him. He was a thousand times worse than she had imagined. Norman had no bottom line, and anyone would be heartbroken to hear this.

At this moment, Nathaniel calmly said, "Continue?"

Norman looked up cautiously at Aurelia and Nathaniel, then continued, "But later, that boss left halfway through, which I didn't expect. Who your mom ended up with... I don't know."

Aurelia endured the intense heartache, thinking of her mother. She felt it wasn't worth it for her. If it weren't for the glass separating them, she would have slapped this scumbag for her mom.

Norman didn't know what happened after that. That night, Brenda came back with a battered body, covered in marks.

He despised her but had to pretend to comfort and support her because his business needed her support. Without progress in the company, he wouldn't easily kick her out.

As for who she spent the night with, he didn't know, and Brenda didn't either.

Besides being drugged by Norman, Brenda had also been drinking.

At this point, hearing these heart-wrenching truths, Aurelia couldn't think straight. She felt sorry for her mom, wondering why she loved such a devil.

If Cathy knew about these things, who knew if she could handle it.

Nathaniel pulled Aurelia closer, letting her lean on him. Norman's tone made it clear he had said everything he knew. Pressing further would be useless.

Nathaniel asked again, "Who was at that dinner? Name every single person."

Norman tried to recall, "Wyatt Hunt, CEO of Sinclair Media; Dominic Sawyer, CEO of Future Group; Declan Ross; Lachlan Everest; and Matthew from the Heilbronn Group."

Norman hesitated, "Those were the most powerful people at Imperick that day. I can't remember anyone else."

After saying this, Norman was filled with panic. He wasn't sure if Aurelia and Nathaniel would keep their promise and not dig further into his past.

He couldn't bear any more charges. He just wanted to serve his sentence well, hoping for a chance at parole. Maybe then, he could be free again.

"Aurelia, Mr. Heilbronn, you two will keep your word, right? I've told you everything I know. Pressing me further is useless."

Aurelia's eyes were red. She never thought her mother had suffered such cruel treatment. Calling Norman "Dad" for so many years, she didn't realize he was unworthy of being human.

"Norman, I won't let you off. Just wait for your death!"

Aurelia rarely spoke such harsh words unless pushed to the limit. The victim was her own mother. She couldn't let go of this pain.

Thinking of calling him "Dad," she even hated herself. Why did she recognize that beast as her father and treat him as family?

She felt every time she called him "Dad," it was an insult and disrespect to her mother.

After leaving the prison, Aurelia sat in the car, trying to calm down. No matter what she did, she couldn't make herself feel better.

Nathaniel sat in the driver's seat, not starting the car. They just sat there, and he kept her company.

"Aurelia, should I not have brought you here?"

He regretted bringing her. He should have handled this himself. These cruel truths were hard for him to bear, let alone Aurelia, who was deeply involved.

Seeing her swollen eyes, Nathaniel felt heartbroken.

"Aurelia, do you want to get something to eat?"

Can't win me back
