Chapter 130 Why is Your Belly So Round?

"Where was it damaged? Show me," Nathaniel said after finishing his kiss and getting back to business.

Aurelia's cheeks were flushed, still caught up in the emotions from their earlier kiss.

"It's in the box," she replied, gathered herself together.

Aurelia opened the large gift box and presented the dress to Nathaniel.

Seeing the black lettering around the waist, Nathaniel squinted and immediately called Zack.

The crisp ringtone echoed outside the door, making Aurelia feel embarrassed. What they had done had just been live-streaming in front of Zack again, and it was quite embarrassing.

A few seconds later, Zack entered the room and said, "Mr. Heilbronn, there's a document that requires your signature."

Nathaniel took the document and placed it on the table. "This can wait. Go to the surveillance room and check the last twenty-four hours of footage to see who has been in my office."

Nathaniel added, "You can skip the time I was present and start reviewing from when I left last night."

Seeing the stern expression on Nathaniel's face, Zack understood something had happened to upset him and hurried off to carry out the task.

The office was left with only two people.

Aurelia went to the lounge to change out of the black dress and back into her clothes.

As she emerged from the office, Nathaniel was engrossed in the documents Zack had brought.

Aurelia didn't want to disturb him, but she had a pressing issue to address. "I don't have anything to wear for tonight."

Raising an eyebrow, Nathaniel closed the document. He didn't want Aurelia to wear the dress Marcus had sent over, feeling uncomfortable at the thought of Marcus looking at Aurelia. That insincere and malevolent gaze made him uneasy, like a wolf waiting for an opportunity.

He couldn't wait to throw that dress in the trash right now.

"Aurelia, what about the wardrobe at home? I have new clothes sent there every quarter, and I remember there are many dresses inside," Nathaniel suggested.

Aurelia wasn't very materialistic and rarely used the items he sent over. Many of the bags and clothes were still in their original packing. She acknowledged his suggestion.

Standing up from his seat, Nathaniel took her hand and led her towards the door.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"Home to get some clothes and have lunch," he replied.

Hand in hand, the two of them openly walked to the underground parking lot. This time, Nathaniel didn't call Zack but drove himself with Aurelia sitting in the passenger seat.

Driving skillfully with one hand on the steering wheel, Nathaniel instructed, "Call Betty and have her prepare lunch. Otherwise, we'll have nothing to eat later."

Betty usually cooked simple meals for herself at home during lunchtime.

Aurelia acknowledged and called Betty to arrange lunch. After hanging up, she noticed her makeup was slightly smudged from crying, yet he hadn't even mentioned it, parading her around like that.

Upon hearing that the couple would be returning for lunch, Betty quickly prepared four delicious dishes. The couple entered the house, enticed by the aroma of the food. Seeing the couple holding hands, Betty beamed with joy.

Earlier that morning, Reed had called her, asking her to find out if the couple had been using contraceptives subtly. She hadn't dared to answer, but while cleaning the house, she had noticed many torn condoms. However, she hadn't seen any recently. Were the couple now trying to conceive?

She didn't dare to ask about it.

The dishes on the table were exquisite, and Aurelia enjoyed the meal. Despite dining in many restaurants, Betty's cooking at home always suited her taste.

After lunch, the two of them went upstairs.

Nathaniel changed into a shirt in the dressing room, where Aurelia's clothes, bags, and accessories occupied two-thirds of the space. Nathaniel glanced at the bright colors and sighed inwardly. Before Aurelia, the space had been solely his, but now, without realizing it, he had given up two-thirds of it. Moreover, all those clothes and bags were things he had willingly bought for Aurelia.

In TV dramas, women who receive such beautiful clothes and designer bags are usually delighted. However, his wife seemed disinterested in these things, and there was no emotional response to his efforts.

Aurelia removed her makeup in the bathroom and then entered the dressing room, where Nathaniel was lost in thought among the clothes.

One compartment was dedicated to the latest dresses, but she had yet to notice them, assuming they were ordinary skirts.

"Aurelia, come here." Nathaniel beckoned to her.

Aurelia obediently walked over and let him lead her to the compartment where the dresses were kept.

He picked out a white silk dress and held it up against her, saying, "This one has a similar style to the damaged one. You can wear it for now. If you truly like the ruined dress, I'll have another one made for you."

Aurelia fell silent. She wasn't upset about the dress itself but rather about his thoughtful gesture being needlessly ruined. He had ordered it specifically for her, and before she could even try it on, it was destroyed. Anyone would feel distressed in such a situation.

She wanted to say that she loved any style he chose for her, but she felt it might sound too cheesy, and he might mock her for it.

Aurelia agreed and held back the words on the tip of her tongue.

"Try it on," Nathaniel said, standing casually with his hands in his pockets, showing no intention of leaving.

With the dress in hand, Aurelia hesitated for a moment, then removed her dress, leaving only her undergarments. She reached for the dress on the fitting stool, but he grabbed her arm before she could touch the fabric.

Controlling his strength to avoid hurting her, he gently pulled her closer, standing with her in front of the mirror. Nathaniel's eyes scanned her up and down.

"Aurelia, have you gained weight recently? Your belly looks rounder, and your breast seems to have developed a bit more," he remarked.

Aurelia hesitated, subconsciously placing her hand on her belly. "Really?" she asked.

Nathaniel nodded. "Yes."

Feeling a bit nervous, Aurelia turned to him, her eyes filled with complex emotions.

Suddenly, Nathaniel burst into laughter. "Why are you looking at me like that? I don't mind if you gain weight. With your slender arms and legs, you could gain a dozen pounds, and it wouldn't be a problem."

Aurelia wanted to avoid discussing the topic further. Stepping forward, she moved away from the mirror and continued to try on the dress.

An awkward moment ensued when the dress could fit over her body, but the zipper got stuck at her waist. Even when she managed to zip it up, the dress clung tightly to her belly.

This time, Nathaniel burst into laughter loudly, a hint of amusement in his tone. "It's okay," he reassured her. "I'll have a ready-to-wear dress sent over, but we'll need to re-measure your size."

Aurelia felt too embarrassed to say anything. If things went as expected, the ruined dress wouldn't fit either, as it was tailored to her previous measurements.

Her waist had indeed expanded significantly, likely due to the two little ones inside her.

Nathaniel took out a soft measuring tape from a drawer and measured her dimensions again.

The results showed an increase of two inches in hip size, five inches in waist size, and three inches in bust size. Nathaniel noted down the measurements, feeling pleased as he remarked, "Well done, you've finally gained some weight."

His tone sounded like he was talking about a pig he had fattened up at home, hoping it would gain more weight.

Aurelia knew her weight gain was due to her pregnancy. If she had gained weight at any other time and heard his words, she would have been very angry.
