Chapter 470 Come to My Place Tonight

Aurelia rubbed her forehead. "Can you wait for me for half an hour?"

Nathaniel smiled. "No rush, take your time. I'll hang out here."

Aurelia kept working, and before she knew it, an hour had passed.

Nathaniel had planned to take her to The Velvet Palate to try their new dishes, but seeing how swamped she was, he didn't want to interrupt. Instead, he had the restaurant prepare the food and deliver it.

Just as Aurelia was starting to feel hungry, the takeout boxes arrived, and they set them on the small round table.

The Velvet Palate's dishes had become increasingly refined. Nathaniel had originally hired two chefs from Imperick to make authentic meals for Aurelia, not worrying about profit. He never expected the chefs to create a whole new fusion cuisine. The Velvet Palate's business was booming, with impressive monthly earnings.

Aurelia dug into her meal with enthusiasm. Between bites, she reminded Nathaniel, "Jacob and Dorothy's preschool starts tomorrow. You didn't forget, did you?"

Nathaniel swallowed his food. "I was just about to ask what we should wear tomorrow."

After a pause, he added, "Should we wear matching outfits?"

He was considering that they had never worn matching outfits, except for pajamas. If needed, they could go shopping after dinner before the stores closed.

Aurelia almost spat out her drink at his suggestion. She couldn't imagine Nathaniel in matching outfits. Four years ago, if she had suggested it, he would have dismissed it with, "Who would wear such silly things?"

Now, hearing it from him, she wondered if he had lost his mind. Why would he think of wearing matching outfits to a preschool opening ceremony?

His wardrobe was mostly suits, with a few casual pieces. The idea of him in matching outfits seemed absurd. A suit suited him much better.

Aurelia echoed his past words back to him. "Who would wear such silly things?"

Nathaniel looked a bit hurt. He remembered promising Dorothy that he would dress handsomely when visiting her school, so other kids' moms would envy Aurelia.

Wasn't wearing matching outfits the best way to show that?

Nathaniel scratched his head. "Aurelia, if we don't wear matching outfits, how will people know I'm the kids' dad?"

Aurelia sighed. He was inexperienced. He'd see tomorrow that parents just needed to dress appropriately, not draw unnecessary attention, which could lead to gossip about the kids.

Middle-aged couples kissing could cause nightmares, let alone wearing matching outfits to a school event. It was unthinkable.

He could just be himself.

"Just wear your usual clothes, Mr. Heilbronn. You don't need to dress up. No parents will be wearing matching outfits tomorrow."

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Alright."

He'd listen to Aurelia.

Aurelia had been so busy that she forgot Phoenix had invited her to a movie that evening.

While eating, Aurora called.

"Ms. Semona, why didn't you come with us? The movie's about to start. Hurry up!"

Aurelia suddenly remembered the movie ticket on her desk.

"If you have nothing to do later, do you want to go to a movie with me?"

She invited him, and Nathaniel was intrigued. How could he refuse?

"Should I book a private theater? What do you want to watch? I'll have Zack arrange it."

Nathaniel imagined them cuddling in a dark theater, her hiding in his arms during scary scenes. He got lost in the thought.

Aurelia pulled out the movie ticket. "I have a ticket here. Just buy the seat next to mine, and we can go together."

Nathaniel snapped back to reality. Without questioning where she got the ticket, he took out his phone, opened the app, and bought the seat next to hers.

He was relieved it was a super VIP seat, expensive enough that it wasn't sold out.

With little time before the movie started, they quickly cleaned up and drove to the theater, making it just in time.

They found their seats as the movie began.

Nathaniel saw Phoenix's name in the credits and felt uneasy. How had he missed that Phoenix was the lead?

"Did Phoenix give you this ticket?"

Aurelia was engrossed in the movie and nodded absentmindedly.

Nathaniel was about to curse when a tall man sat next to Aurelia, wearing a mask and cap, making it impossible to identify him.

But Nathaniel knew Phoenix too well. He could tell what Phoenix was up to. And since Phoenix had given Aurelia the ticket, it was no surprise that he had a plan.

Phoenix handed Aurelia a bottle of juice, freshly opened.

Aurelia barely said "thanks" before Nathaniel took the juice and replaced it with a cup of tea he had bought earlier.

"Aurelia, don't drink cold stuff. You'll get a stomachache."

Phoenix was too distracted to watch his own movie. He had finally gotten Aurelia alone, only for Nathaniel to ruin it. Was there no place in the world without Nathaniel?

"Aurelia, the air conditioning is blowing on you. Want to switch seats with me?"

Aurelia glanced up. The air conditioning wasn't directly above her, and the breeze wasn't cold.

Nathaniel smirked and gave Phoenix a disdainful look. "Aurelia, if you're cold, move closer to me. I'll block it for you."

Phoenix was fuming. He was desperate.

"Aurelia, move closer to me. You're blocking someone behind you."

Aurelia looked back. There was no one behind her.

"Aurelia, didn't I give you just one ticket?"

He wondered if he had accidentally given out an extra ticket, bringing Nathaniel along.

Nathaniel flicked the ticket in his hand. "Is watching a movie this expensive now?"

His tone implied the movie wasn't worth the price, his usual sarcasm.

Aurelia felt trapped between them. If she had known, she wouldn't have come.

She nudged Nathaniel with her elbow. "It's starting. Watch the movie."

Nathaniel dropped his hostility and smiled. "Aurelia, are you coming back with me after the movie? Or are you staying at my place?"
