Chapter 37 Are You Hiding a Man Here?
Zack quickly obtained a list of guests at the Atlantis Hotel for that day, including their names, phone numbers, and occupations.
On the way to the hotel, Nathaniel carefully reviewed the list on his phone, eliminating those he deemed unrelated to the one they wanted and narrowing it down to a dozen or so individuals.
Aurelia, who had been napping, woke up with a ravenous appetite. Her pregnancy made her both picky and prone to hunger.
During this period, she developed strong cravings for food she liked, especially the sandwich from a restaurant called Subway sandwich as the sandwich there tasted similar to Helen's.
However, the delivery app indicated that her location was outside the delivery area, requiring an additional fee for the order to be accepted.
With dinner sorted, she relaxed and turned on a soap opera.
When the phone rang, she assumed it was her food delivery and answered without much thought.
"Ms. Semona, do you think we can let Norman go now?" A male voice sounded.
Aurelia recognized the voice as the one that had threatened Norman earlier.
In the corridors of memory, she scoured in vain for any recollection of encountering a similar ruthless individual.
"Are you still hitting him?" She asked weakly.
"Whether he gets beaten is entirely up to you," the man replied.
Aurelia wondered who this person was, aware of her connection to Norman and standing up for her.
"May I ask if we've met before?" she inquired.
"That's not important. If you have no further instructions, Norman will be released today. You can always call this number. My name is Felix, and I'm at your service," Felix said.
Aurelia harbored further queries, yet the telephone had already been abruptly disconnected.
Gazing at the unfamiliar numbers, she pondered inwardly, 'Could the caller be an ally, or is there a clandestine benefactor aiding me? Is this a case of anonymous benevolence?'
A torrent of inquiries consumed her, momentarily overshadowing the pangs of hunger in her belly.
Aurelia saved the mysterious number in her contacts under the name 'Felix' and planned to investigate its origin.
She wasn't quick to trust others, and this number could be a trap.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel and Zack arrived at the Atlantis Hotel.
Nathaniel shared the list with Zack, who began calling each person to arrange a meeting. They sat in the lobby, waiting.
Zack, who had been by Nathaniel's side for five years, was resourceful. Handling this was a piece of cake for him. Soon, the first person, who seemed to be Lolly, a young woman in her twenties, arrived.
The girl was hesitant at first. However, her hesitation was soon replaced by excitement when she heard it was Zack from the Heilbronn Group.
Zack had gained some fame in Imperick, mainly due to Nathaniel's high profile. He often accompanied Nathaniel to various events, where he had to deal with Nathaniel's admirers and handle some of the tabloid news.
These women, who admired Nathaniel, naturally knew something about Zack.
The young woman arrived at the lobby with mixed feelings, and her eyes were immediately drawn to the imposing man next to Zack.
His face was often seen in the news, and he was known to all women in Imperick.
She initially thought it was a scam, but it turned out to be an invitation from the president of the Heilbronn Group, which would be enough to boast about to her friends for a year.
Her excitement grew.
She walked over, her steps involuntarily light, and her heart raced. She was afraid of losing her composure in front of Nathaniel.
The woman contemplated how to greet the upcoming encounter with a touch of refinement and restraint.
She carefully sat down on the sofa opposite him, assuming an elegant posture.
"Mr. Heilbronn, do you want to see me?"
Before she could finish, Nathaniel glanced at Zack, and then his attention returned to his phone.
The girl felt a tinge of disappointment.
Throughout the meeting, Zack conversed with her. After asking her some seemingly random questions, he let her go. Nathaniel didn't say a word to her throughout the process.
Zack proceeded to arrange meetings with the second, third, and up to the fourteenth person in the same manner.
"Mr. Heilbronn, everyone on the list has been ruled out. Lolly is not among them. Could the IP address be inaccurate?"
Nathaniel rubbed his temples. He couldn't believe there was someone in the country he couldn't find.
After a moment, he stood up, buttoned his suit, and left the hotel.
Outside, he lit a cigarette and dialed a number on his phone.
"Chris, I need your company's top IT team to help me trace an IP address."
After a brief conversation, he extinguished the just-lit cigarette and returned to the hotel lobby.
As Nathaniel entered, a delivery boy rushed in with an order.
The familiar smell that often filled his home made him take a closer look at the delivery bag in the boy's hand.
The last four digits of the phone number caught his attention.
What a serendipitous discovery! The woman he was looking for was hiding in the Atlantis Hotel, right under his nose.
Nathaniel swiftly hastened his pace, the pursuit of the individual now relegated to oblivion in his mind.
The delivery boy was stopped at the front desk. To protect the safety and privacy of the guests, the hotel did not allow outsiders to come and go as they pleased. The delivery boy was about to make a call, as he was already running out of time for the delivery.
Nathaniel stepped forward.
"The delivery in your hand is for my wife," he said.
The delivery boy looked at Nathaniel, somewhat shocked, and asked, "Please state the last four digits of the order number."
Nathaniel fluently recited the eleven digits, and only then did the delivery boy hand over the items.
Nathaniel opened the package and looked at the information sheet. The food's owner was shown as a person whose surname was Semona, with some letters replaced by asterisks.
Nathaniel couldn't help but think, 'What a fool! She used a real name to order takeout.'
He was a member of this hotel and had directly obtained a key card at the front desk, leaving Zack alone in the lobby.
Aurelia heard the doorbell and ran to open the door without hesitation. At this juncture, she was greedy to the point of her anterior touching her posterior.
As she opened the door, she saw a face she didn't want to see. She tried to close the door. Just as the door was about to shut, a few slender fingers reached through the gap.
Just as Nathaniel's hand was about to be ensnared, Aurelia's heart softened, and she released her grip.
For some reason, her first instinct upon seeing him was to avoid him.
She didn't want to go home, and that was why she came to the hotel. She never expected this man to be so persistent and find her here.
"What are you up to? Are you hiding a man here?" Nathaniel walked in, closed the door, took off his coat, and acted as if he was at home.
Aurelia glared at him and went to the table to open the takeout.
Since he was already inside, it would be difficult to ask him to leave.
Instead of arguing about something useless, it was better to have a peaceful meal. After all, filling her stomach was the most important thing now, and the two little ones were also hungry.
While she ate, Nathaniel went straight to the bathroom. About ten minutes later, he came out in a large bathrobe, exuding a cool aura.
He is quite frank.
