Chapter 92 Shocking Everyone

That was Nathaniel's hand.

That hand had roamed every inch of her body, now tightly holding another woman.

Aurelia curled up under the covers, clutching them tightly, her breathing labored.

Nathaniel could easily go from deeply moving her the day before to breaking her heart completely now.

He had left for Imperick without telling her while she was still foolishly thinking about his discomfort with the hotel's shampoo the night before.

Chelsea knew he was returning to Imperick today. As his wife, she relied on checking other people's social media to find out his whereabouts.

He had reassured her countless times before, with promises that weighed her down, promises that their marriage wouldn't involve Chelsea, promises that he would handle his relationship with Chelsea well. But what was the result?

Aurelia laughed through her tears. A man's words in bed were not to be trusted, and only she was foolish enough to believe such nonsense.

She sat on the edge of the bed, gently stroking her belly, constantly asking the two children inside, "Baby, what should Mom do?"

She wished so much to give her children a healthy family, but if it were like her own biological family, where the parents' relationship was strained, it would also be a hidden harm to the children.

As dawn approached, the sound of a car engine could be heard downstairs.

Aurelia knew he was back.

She composed herself, lying back in bed, pretending to be asleep with her back to the door.

In a few minutes, the bedroom door opened, and Nathaniel went to the bathroom to take a shower. After the shower, he returned to bed feeling refreshed.

A large hand slid down Aurelia’s waist to her belly, the warmth belonging to him radiating from her belly. Aurelia couldn't help but shiver.

"Did I wake you up?"

His voice was heavy, indicating his bad mood.

“Yes,” Aurelia responded in a cold voice. She pushed away the hand on her belly, suddenly feeling that he didn't deserve to be so close to the baby inside.

That hand had held Chelsea's hand, and the baby would surely find it repulsive.

Nathaniel sensed her coldness, abruptly withdrawing the arm she pushed away. He leaned against the headboard, a cigarette dangling between his fingers, and the flame of the lighter flashed. His mind was filled with her disdain when he smoked in front of her last time.

After hesitating for a few seconds, he gave up, irritably tossing the cigarette and lighter aside.

"Aurelia, my return this time was a last-minute decision."

Implicitly, he hadn't had time to inform her.

He was explaining his sudden return in the middle of the night, not understanding why Aurelia was angry, vaguely feeling it was related to his return.

But it was just a simple explanation for him, already a gesture of apology towards her.

Looking around Imperick, the only person he had to bow his head to besides his grandfather was Aurelia in front of him. Nathaniel smiled bitterly, not knowing when Aurelia had become so important to him.

Aurelia lay on her side on the pillow, calm enough to ignore his presence.

Nathaniel sat rigidly for a few minutes before lowering himself into the center of the large bed. He cast a glance towards Aurelia, who was lying at the very edge of the bed, treating him as if he were a dangerous beast. He fought back the urge to reach out to her.

They shared a blanket with a clear boundary line in the middle.

As dawn broke, Aurelia got up, finding he was no longer there.

At that moment, the phone she had been anxiously waiting for finally rang.

Aurelia answered eagerly, "Felix, what happened yesterday?"

"Ms. Semona, I was just about to explain this to you. Yesterday, we found that car following you on the road, so we forced it to stop. Don't worry; it's nothing serious, and it's been taken care of. We are outside your house, still secretly ensuring your safety."

Aurelia's heart sank. That car was indeed coming for her.

"Are there other people in the car?"

Felix on the phone hesitated for a moment before answering, "There's also that woman, Chelsea. But you don't need to worry; she won't dare to come to bother you again for a while."

At this point, Aurelia didn't yet understand Felix's words about Chelsea not causing trouble for a while. In the morning, when she arrived at the company for a meeting, she found out that Chelsea was absent, with the system showing she had taken sick leave.

In the afternoon, she heard colleagues discussing visiting her in the hospital. Someone mentioned that Chelsea had been in a car accident and had broken her right leg.

Aurelia pondered for a while and decided to call Felix to clarify. Finding a convenient place to talk, she dialed his number.

"Felix, do you know the details of Chelsea's accident?"

Felix, on the other end, hesitated. "Ms. Semona, Jack and I spent the night at the police station last night and were only released on bail this morning. The details of that woman's accident are not very clear. Don't worry. If she dies, it's her own fault."

Felix's words had a hidden meaning, and Aurelia had a terrifying thought. Felix and Jack had spent the night at the police station, so it wasn't their doing. Suddenly, Marcus's gentle face flashed in her mind, startling her.

Just as she thought of Marcus, he appeared.

Aurelia hung up and saw Marcus walking out of the building, wearing a neatly pressed suit, his glasses reflecting a gentle light in the sun.

"Aurelia, what are you doing here?"

Marcus walked over casually, and Aurelia stared at his glasses, suddenly realizing that she had never seen the eyes behind the lenses clearly.

If he really did those things, how deep and mysterious would the eyes behind the lenses be?

"Uncle Marcus, I... came out to make a phone call."

Marcus smiled lightly, looking relaxed. "Come to the Heilbronn Villa for dinner when you have time. Reed talks about you every day."

Aurelia agreed with a nod, carefully observing Marcus. She felt like this person was a stranger from head to toe as if she had just met him for the first time. Nathaniel's warning words echoed in her mind. “Don't get too close to Uncle Marcus. He's not as simple as you think.”

"Mr. Heilbronn..."

His assistant, who was following behind, finished his call and approached with a hesitant expression.

Marcus adjusted his glasses on his nose. "Aurelia, if you're being bullied, call me."

He added, "I can handle anything!"

Aurelia nodded awkwardly. The warm image of Marcus in her mind had been overturned, and at this moment, she felt that he must be someone not to be trifled with, more dangerous than Nathaniel. And she was fortunate to be under his protection.

Seeming to have urgent matters to attend to, Marcus exchanged a few brief words with Aurelia before returning to the building with his assistant.

Aurelia stared blankly at his departing figure for a while, feeling the need to reconsider her relationship with Marcus. Was Marcus really treating her like a niece? At this moment, she couldn't be sure.

For two consecutive days, Nathaniel was not in the office at noon, so Aurelia ate the meal delivered to his office by the servant of the Heilbronn Villa alone. He had been extremely busy these days, coming home late at night and staying in the study until midnight before going to the bedroom.

Aurelia thought to herself that it was better for him to be busy, as he wouldn't have the energy to torment her so much.

As for the secret she was prepared to reveal, Aurelia never found the opportunity to tell him.

After three days, the results of the internal evaluation of the Heilbronn Group's jewelry designs were announced, and the top three designs, along with their likes, were uploaded to the official website.

Aurelia saw the data under her design, which exceeded the total likes of the second and third places. She had intended to keep a low profile, never expecting that the bracelet she had hurriedly made would be so popular with the public.

This evaluation had turned her from last place in the first evaluation to a commanding first place, like a dark horse, shocking everyone in the company.

The design department itself was the focus of discussion within the Heilbronn Group jewelry group, and now the name 'Aurelia' was completely known to tens of thousands of people within the company.

Her colleagues in the design department also began to respect her, no longer as indifferent as before.

Before leaving work, a call came from the president's office.

"Aurelia, come to the president's office now."

Nathaniel's voice on the phone was steady, quite different from the flirtatious tone he had used in a video call a few days ago.

Aurelia wondered what could make the president call her up to his office. Couldn't it wait until she got home to discuss it?

She locked her computer screen and went upstairs with her phone.
