Chapter 67 Leave Without a Single Penny

Ashley sat on the ground and let Nathaniel pull her. "Nathaniel, I can't leave. If I leave, no one will take care of Chelsea. What if she gets sick?"

After today's misunderstanding, she knew Nathaniel would come to deal with her. It was Chelsea's idea. Chelsea pretended to be sick and called him over so he wouldn't pay attention to anything else.

As a result, the big devil was attracted. He ignored Chelsea and dragged Ashley away.

Nathaniel directly dragged Ashley into the car like a dog, completely ignoring the rain outside.

Aurelia returned to the Bloom Villa and received a call from the Heilbronn Villa. Beatrice was so anxious that she couldn't speak clearly, "Aurelia, do you know what Ashley did to provoke Nathaniel? She was locked up by Reed."

Aurelia was stunned for a moment. "Mom, I don't know."

"Can you help persuade him? Reed cares the most about you."

"Mom, I dare not ask about Reed's punishment for the younger generation."

Beatrice hung up disappointedly.

Just as the call ended, there was the sound of a car outside.

Aurelia took a glass of water upstairs, but she couldn't avoid it.

Nathaniel inquired, "Why do you leave when I come back?"

"I'm tired."

Aurelia casually said as she took the water glass back to her room, hesitated for a few seconds with her hand on the door lock, then let go.

A door couldn't stop him.

She wanted to get away from him completely; there was only one way: divorce.

She dialed a number on her phone,

"Amber, I remember your boyfriend is a lawyer. Can you help me contact him? I want to inquire about filing for divorce."

"Aurelia, have you really decided?"

Aurelia nodded. "Yes, Amber. And I’m sorry to trouble you again."

"It's not a bother. Friends should help each other. Wait. I'll ask him. It's best to arrange a time for you to meet and talk."

The bedroom door was pushed open from the outside. Aurelia looked up. "Amber, I have something to do. I'll hang up now. We'll talk another day."

Nathaniel walked in wearing a black suit. He had changed somewhere.

He casually walked in with long strides, took off his coat, loosened his tie in front of her, and was about to take off his pants.

Aurelia felt helpless. He seemed to intend to stay in the guest room.

"Can you sleep in your room?"

As she spoke, he had already taken off his belt and half of his pants.

Aurelia quickly turned her head.

"Either we go back to the main bedroom together, or we sleep in the guest room together. You choose the room first, and I'll follow."

"Do you have to be like this?"

"Like what? Like this morning?"

Aurelia didn't understand why he was so shameless. They were angry at each other when they parted in the morning, but now he acted as if nothing had happened.

Every time they argued, she seemed to be in a Cold War, while he seemed to have amnesia. This made Aurelia wonder if she was being too stubborn, holding onto one or two things.

"Nathaniel, let's get a divorce."

Nathaniel threw aside the pants he had taken off. "Think carefully before you speak. Can you live normally without me after you leave me?"

Aurelia's eyes blurred. "Even if I starve to death outside, it has nothing to do with you. Let's get a divorce, okay?"

Nathaniel frowned, slammed the door, and left, leaving a sentence behind. "You really don't know who treats you better."

He still didn't want a divorce.

Aurelia sat on the bed all night.

The next morning, Reed called for the two of them to go to the Heilbronn Villa.

Aurelia got ready and went downstairs. Nathaniel was already sitting neatly in the hall, drinking coffee.

Their eyes met for a moment, and both of them understood without speaking.

Once in the car, Aurelia fastened her seatbelt, but Nathaniel didn't start the car.

"Aren't you going?" she asked.

Nathaniel leisurely took out a cigarette and held it between his fingers, but before he could light it, Aurelia unfastened her seatbelt and was about to get out of the car.

Nathaniel looked at her disdainful expression and felt a bit lost. He used to smoke in front of her often, but she had never looked at him like that before.

He threw the cigarette aside and pulled the woman who was about to get out of the car over. “Do you really want to divorce me?"

At this moment, Aurelia couldn't guess his thoughts. She didn't know if he was serious or teasing her.

"Are you willing to divorce me?" Aurelia inquired.

Nathaniel sneered, directly covering her mouth and kissing her fiercely.

"You can't mention the word divorce, understand?"

"I don't have the right to mention divorce; you can only do it, right?"

Nathaniel saw that Aurelia was really determined to divorce him. "You won't get a penny. Do you still want to divorce?"

"I said I don't want your money."

Nathaniel was very angry. "Did you really not read the divorce agreement?"

Even when he agreed, he considered all the problems she would face in the future. I gave her money, a house, and a car, but she didn't even look at it.

Aurelia ignored his intentions.

"You don't need to worry about property division. I can leave with just the clothes on my back."

She continued to provoke him.

Nathaniel felt the urge to smoke again; he needed to vent; smoking seemed to temporarily empty his mind, letting out the resentment in his heart.

He took out a new cigarette, opened the door, got out of the car, and lit it.

Aurelia sat weakly in her seat, watching his back as he smoked outside the car window, feeling complicated inside.

She needed a sharp knife to cut off those unclear things in her mind.

At the Heilbronn Villa, Ted kept busy for Nathaniel and Aurelia all morning.

There were more than a dozen dishes on the table, mostly Aurelia's favorites. Aurelia looked at Reed's kind face and felt guilty.

She lied to Reed. She promised Nathaniel a chance last time at the hospital.

But she still cared...

A cheating man was like money dropped in dog poop, disgusting to pick up, painful to lose.

After dinner, the family sat in the living room chatting.

Aurelia was not in a good mood. She sat obediently next to him without saying a word, but others looked at her differently. She casually glanced around, unexpectedly not seeing Ashley.

Usually, Ashley would definitely find a chance to mock Aurelia when she saw her.

Beatrice was colder today, not pulling Nathaniel and Aurelia to ask questions. Aurelia thought it was probably related to Ashley.

Mary brought fruit and asked, "Mr. Reed, should I send Miss Ashley a portion?"

Reed's face darkened. "I said to starve her for three days. Anyone who secretly gives her food in this house is treating the Heilbronn family rules as nothing; might as well punish everyone together!"

Mary quickly retreated in fear.

Aurelia wondered what Ashley had done to make Reed so angry that he wouldn't even give her food.

Reed calmed down and reminded her,

"Aurelia, if you're wronged in the future, come and tell me. I'll see who dares to bully you. Whoever uses despicable means on our family members in the future will be kicked out of this house."

Aurelia swallowed and nodded awkwardly.

It was only then that she realized that Reed probably knew about Ashley's attempt to frame her, and he even used family rules for it.

She glanced at Nathaniel, who had no expression on his face, his hands crossed behind his head against the back of the sofa leisurely as if this matter had nothing to do with him.

Aurelia understood that it must have been him who sent Ashley to Reed. Only a few people knew about this, and it couldn't have reached Reed in just one day.

Nathaniel was a man with a good appearance but a bad personality. He was very self-centered, never telling her what he was doing and always keeping her in the dark.

Thinking of this, her resentment towards him lessened.

"Reed, I heard you've been practicing boxing recently. Please teach me when you are free."

Aurelia smoothly changed the subject to bypass this matter, and they happily chatted.

Nathaniel's phone rang, and he answered. He walked to the balcony while talking. Aurelia and Reed chatted, but her thoughts were on Nathaniel.

She didn't know what was said on the other end, but Nathaniel's face gradually darkened.
