Chapter 143 He Will Be a Good Dad

Oscar continued to defend Aurelia, "Good girls are ruined by douchebad. If you really divorce Aurelia, then don't call me anymore. I can't stand that two-faced woman, Chelsea. If you insist, let's pretend we never knew each other when we meet in the future."

Oscar were serious, without a hint of joking. He genuinely despised men who played with women's feelings.

Chris, on the side, tried to ease the tension between the two. "Let's not argue about these matters. We finally got together, and once we get off the cruise ship this afternoon, we'll be immersed in work again. It will be so busy that we won't see each other for a month."

After saying this, he raised his glass and drank, only to find both men across from him with dark expressions, not touching their glasses.

He changed the subject. "Nathaniel, last time you asked me to look into Lolly, and I managed to intercept an email sent overseas by Lolly a few days ago. Guess where the IP address led to?"

At the mention of Lolly, Nathaniel perked up a bit.

"Go on," he urged.

Chris continued, "The IP address pointed to the Heilbronn Group building, meaning the person you've been desperately searching for is right by your side."

Chris couldn't help but chuckle a few times after saying this, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

Nathaniel looked surprised. "You're saying Lolly is hiding in the Heilbronn Group?"

He couldn't believe it.

Chris said, "Doubt your judgment, not my skills. Go back and check it; I guarantee you'll be surprised."

With a mysterious expression, Chris left some hints in his words, wanting Nathaniel to uncover this secret himself. With Nathaniel's intelligence, it would be easy to find it out. It's just that his thinking had been fixed, and he hadn't considered that possibility before.

Lost in thought, Nathaniel went through the list of people in the design department whom he could recall by name. Suddenly, something clicked in his mind, and he immediately called Zack. "Where is the original design sketch of the bracelet designed by Aurelia?"

Zack was the one who had received it.

"Mr. Heilbronn, it's in the archives."

"Bring it to my office immediately."

Nathaniel's suspicions left him conflicted. He was pleased that the person he had been searching for had finally been located, but if Aurelia turned out to be the one play fool with him, he wouldn't accept it. That woman had known all along that he was searching for the renowned designer Lolly. She had watched him search tirelessly, perhaps even witnessing him come close to the truth several times. She must have thought he was a fool at that time.

That woman was not as simple as he had perceived her to be; she had hidden herself well in his presence.

Nathaniel's thoughts was interrupted by the vibration of his phone in his pocket. He answered the call, "Chelsea, what's the matter?"

On the other end of the line, Chelsea was crying. "Nathaniel, I feel awful. I've thrown up everything I had for breakfast. My throat is burning, and your son is really causing me suffering!"

Nathaniel fell silent for a moment. "I'm coming."

Oscar leaned back on the sofa. Nathaniel's tone made it clear that the call was from Chelsea, and the wretched woman must be causing trouble again.

He stood up and left before Nathaniel, displaying an air of breaking ties with him.

In Chelsea's room, half a bowl of oatmeal and a half-eaten boiled egg were on the table. The curtains were drawn halfway, casting light onto the bed.

Chelsea's expression was painful, and it could tell that she was truly suffering morning sickness.

If Nathaniel hadn't acknowledged this child, she would have had to terminate the pregnancy once they reached shore. She was delicate and couldn't bear this suffering.

Nathaniel entered the room, and Chelsea had just finished rinsing her mouth after vomiting.

Chelsea saw him holding a meal box and looking at her with a compassionate gaze. Her eyes immediately welled up with tears.

"Nathaniel, I feel terrible," Chelsea said.

Nathaniel had some understanding of the hardships women face when giving birth.

When Beatrice gave birth to Ashley, Nathaniel was seven years old and had learned a lot. He remembered how severe Beatrice's early pregnancy symptoms were; she had vomited so much that she had to be hospitalized for intravenous nutrition due to dehydration.

Typically, morning sickness only lasted for the first few months of pregnancy, but Beatrice had vomited throughout her entire pregnancy before giving birth to Ashley. As a result, the family treated this precious girl with exceptional indulgence, leading to her current spoiled and arrogant demeanor.

Nathaniel's thoughts returned, and he placed the meal box on the table. "Chelsea, come and eat something. If you keep vomiting without eating, your body will weaken," Nathaniel said.

Chelsea pouted, feeling wronged. "I really can't eat. I'll vomit it back up after eating. It's better not to eat at all to avoid upsetting my stomach."

Nathaniel was at a loss. "Chelsea, be obedient. Don't be stubborn."

Seeing him become serious, Chelsea obediently sat beside him.

Nathaniel opened the meal box, which contained some delicate snacks. Pregnancy could change a woman's taste preferences, and he wasn't sure what she would like now.

He picked a variety of snacks, hoping that one or two would suit her palate.

"Chelsea, try some. See which one you like, and I'll have more brought over," Nathaniel said.

Chelsea glanced at the dishes and coquettishly said, "I want the Lemon tart."

Nathaniel's gaze fell on the Lemon tart, making a mental note that she liked sour flavors.

Unfortunately, he had only taken one piece.

He called Zack, "Go to the restaurant and bringmore Lemon tarts over."

At that moment, Zack happened to be dining in the restaurant. He saw that Aurelia had taken the last few pieces of Lemon tart on the plate.

He sighed inwardly; what a strange fate that Aurelia and Chelsea both liked the same thing.

"Mr. Nathaniel, the Lemon tarts are all gone. Mrs. Heilbronn took the last few pieces."

As Nathaniel was on the phone, Chelsea, leaning against his arm, overheard it.

Nathaniel fell silent and ended the call. "Chelsea, is there anything else you like. The Lemon tarts are gone; I'll buy them for you once we reach shore."

Chelsea's eyes reddened. "Nathaniel, I can only eat the Lemon tart. If it's not available, then forget it. I'd rather wait until we reach shore."

Nathaniel saw her acting like a child again, but considering her pregnancy and discomfort, he tolerated her more. He spoke honestly to her, "Aurelia took all the Lemon tarts."

Chelsea pouted again. "I knew you would take her side and not care about me. You won't even give me a few pieces of Lemon tart."

Nathaniel thought to himself, 'Aurelia usually didn't like sour foods. Why had she taken all the Lemon tarts today?' He was getting a headache from Chelsea's antics and had to call Aurelia.

"Leave a few pieces of the Lemon tart you took," Nathaniel said.

Aurelia was puzzled when she received his call. She thought he wanted to disscuss about the divorce agreement, but he was asking for a few pieces of Lemon tart.

Before she could respond, she heard Chelsea's voice on the other end. "I knew you would be a good father."

Aurelia suddenly understood what was going on. She looked at the plate and lost her appetite.

"I've finished them, and there are only some crumbs left. If you don't mind, come and take them yourself," Aurelia replied.

Then Nathaniel was hung up.

Chelsea stopped causing a fuss. Whether or not she had the Lemon tart didn't matter; she just wanted Nathaniel to take her side and make Aurelia uncomfortable.

Chelsea wanted to prove that Aurelia couldn't hold onto this marriage. If Chelsea could ask for a few pieces of lemon tart today, she might demand everything Aurelia currently possesses tomorrow, including the marriage. After three years of being a couple, Nathaniel would still pamper another woman.
