Chapter 208 She Left, Yet She Is Everywhere
The car Aurelia was in started moving, and she watched the street scenes outside the window. It was her first time in Coral Bay, and everything was unfamiliar.
The car drove into a villa area.
Cathy held her hand and introduced, "This house is for the servants, that one is where your uncle and aunt live, and the most beautiful one is for you."
Aurelia knew that the Semona family was a top-tier family in the South, but she hadn't expected them to be so wealthy that even the servants had their own villas. All these houses were developed and built by the Semona family's real estate company, using the finest materials from around the world and decorated with utmost luxury.
The Heilbronn family was already considered a super-rich family in Imperick, comparable to the Semona family in the South, but their housing was not as extravagant.
Aurelia felt like a bumpkin, letting Cathy lead her around the luxurious villa.
"Aurelia, this is your bedroom. I personally oversaw the decoration. Come and see if you like it," Cathy said.
Aurelia pushed open the door and was stunned by the interior decoration. It became clear that Cathy was treating her like a little girl.
The room was cozy, with various decorations that little girls would like, and many popular dolls were placed around. The floor-to-ceiling windows were large, allowing ample sunlight to pour in, making everything warm and sunny.
Since finding she had so many relatives, Aurelia's mindset had changed. She felt God was still kind to her.
She gently stroked her increasingly round belly and thought, 'Babies, this will be our home from now on. We have a family now.'
Here, she had a loving grandmother, uncle, aunt, cousins, and a lively little niece. She was not living alone in this world. Besides her departed mother, she had so many relatives. She had truly started a new life.
Cathy, worried that Aurelia might not be used to the food in Coral Bay, specially hired two northern chefs from a five-star hotel to prepare tonight's dinner.
After surviving a great ordeal, they definitely needed to celebrate.
At the dinner table, the nine-layer birthday cake ordered by Cathy arrived, with exactly twenty-four candles on it.
Cathy said, "Aurelia, make a wish. We will celebrate today as your second birthday. From now on, you will be blessed for the rest of your life."
Aurelia looked at the twenty-four flickering flames, each representing hope, just like her mood. Her future was bright, with no more troublesome people or complicated relationships.
In life, everyone needed something to strive for. She had her own babies, people to care for, and her own career.
Aurelia silently made a wish, hoping to live the rest of her life for those who loved her, wishing her babies a life free of worries, and her relatives eternal happiness.
As the candles were blown out, the whole family joyfully raised their glasses in celebration.
Aurelia couldn't drink and had to cheers using water instead.
The villa was filled with the laughter and joy of the family.
Meanwhile, in Imperick, Nathaniel hadn't been to the company for quite a few days, and during this time, the Heilbronn Group was in chaos without a leader. All the employees were gossiping, saying that Mrs. Heilbronn had left home with the children and that Mr. Heilbronn was flying around the world looking for his wife and kids.
In reality, Nathaniel had made the suburban cemetery his home. Unable to find Aurelia's grave, he bought a plot next to Brenda's grave to console himself.
A new grave with a white tombstone stood there. He touched the words "Beloved Wife Aurelia" on the tombstone and murmured, "Aurelia, don't be afraid. I'm here with you, not going anywhere."
Zack rushed over from the company with several urgent documents.
"Mr. Heilbronn, these contracts can't be delayed any longer. The company's operations are about to run into problems. Please take a look," Zack urged.
Nathaniel ignored him. He had been sleeping in the cemetery, and a hard stubble had grown on his chin.
Zack was at his wit's end, pressured by the company's shareholders who were clamoring for a shareholders' meeting to elect someone new to take over Nathaniel's duties.
Today, he had to bring Nathaniel back.
Zack reported, "Mr. Heilbronn, the shareholders are demanding your resignation."
Nathaniel sat slumped in front of the grave, hugging the tombstone, and said indifferently, "That's fine. This way, I can always be with her."
Zack felt sorry for him. He had followed Nathaniel for years and had never seen him like this. Since Aurelia left, he had been a wreck, caring about nothing.
Zack said, "Mr. Heilbronn, you transferred all your assets to your wife before the divorce. Now you're working for her. You can't keep skipping work; she wouldn't be happy."
Nathaniel looked up at Zack and said, "You're right. She wouldn't be happy. I need to work hard and make money."
He slowly stood up, leaning on the tombstone, his legs numb from sitting.
Zack first took him back to the Bloom Villa to shower and change into clean clothes. Nathaniel had lost a lot of weight, and his facial features had become gaunt.
Zack brought him back to the company, finally appeasing the shareholders.
In the office, Nathaniel regained his fighting spirit. He needed to work hard to make Aurelia happy. He couldn't keep wasting time; otherwise, the company's stock would plummet.
He looked around the familiar office, memories flooding his mind. He felt that although Aurelia was gone, she was everywhere. He needed to perform well and not let her down again.
Seeing the president back at work, the employees focused on their tasks, not daring to slack off.
Everything returned to normal.
Zack entered with a cup of warm water.
"Mr. Heilbronn, the driver who hit Mrs. Heilbronn was sold to the black market by someone, and all his organs were harvested. He died a miserable death," Zack reported.
A cold glint flashed in Nathaniel's eyes and he said, "He got what he deserved."
Zack continued to report the clues he had found, "Mr. Heilbronn, Mrs. Heilbronn frequently contacted a private detective named Timothy before she passed away."
Nathaniel was taken aback and instructed, "Bring him here. I have questions for him."
It didn't take long for Zack to bring Timothy to Nathaniel's office.
Timothy knew about Nathaniel and Aurelia's relationship. Aurelia had paid him quite a lot for help. When he tried to contact her, he found he couldn't reach her and later discovered she had an accident on the road.
He felt deeply sorry for her.
Nathaniel summoned him, and Timothy remained unfazed. "Mr. Heilbronn, ask whatever you want," Timothy said.
Nathaniel put down his work and scrutinized the young man before him. He didn't know why Aurelia had hired a private detective and needed to understand the situation.
He asked, "How long have you been working for Aurelia?"
Timothy replied frankly, "For over five years."
Nathaniel was astonished. He now realized he knew nothing about Aurelia. She had been in contact with this private detective for over five years, longer than their marriage.
'Back then, she was just a young girl. What could she have needed a private detective for?' Nathaniel thought.
