Chapter 461 Would You Block a Knife Too?
Chelsea didn't sleep well last night; the pregnancy symptoms made her vomit constantly, and she even had a nightmare in the middle of the night. She dreamt of Maria, covered in blood, standing by her bed, crying out in pain and asking her to seek revenge on those people.
Chelsea was depressed. She didn't eat breakfast and went straight to the company to make a scene. Every time she did this, she felt a bit better.
She didn't expect to encounter Aurelia at the company this time.
"Aurelia, you killed my mom, you murderer!"
Chelsea's face was pale, her eyes were bloodshot, and she had completely lost her composure. "My mom was killed by you. She was covered in blood."
The company was in chaos, and the employees stopped working to see what this woman, who often caused trouble, was going to do.
Aurelia sneered, "Maria deserved to die. She did too many evil things. Even if she died a hundred times, it wouldn't be enough to atone for her sins. She deserved to go to hell."
Chelsea was provoked and lost control of her emotions. She swung the thermos cup in her hand towards Aurelia.
Nathaniel reacted quickly and pulled Aurelia into his arms, shielding her with his body. The cup full of water hit the back of Nathaniel's neck.
Nathaniel frowned, enduring the pain, feeling a lingering fear.
If he hadn't blocked it, the cup would have hit Aurelia's head. A cup full of water thrown from such a distance could knock someone out.
"Aurelia, are you okay?"
Aurelia broke free from his embrace, "Did it hit you just now? Where did it hit?"
Nathaniel paused, "I'm fine."
"Call the police!"
Aurelia said as she went back to the room to find her phone, but Nathaniel had already taken out his phone and dialed the police.
Chelsea was restrained by the security guards called by Patrick, but she was pregnant and emotionally unstable. The security guards didn't dare to touch her, fearing any incident, so they dragged her to a small conference room and watched her closely.
The police arrived quickly. Seeing the police, Chelsea calmed down. She now had a deep fear of that uniform, especially since her mom died in there, and her dad was also arrested.
Hearing Aurelia's description of Norman's miserable state inside, she was even more terrified.
Chelsea's eyes darted around. She realized that her impulsive behavior just now was due to Aurelia's provocation.
She was a criminal, currently on a deferred sentence. If she committed another crime, she feared even her limited freedom would be taken away.
Chelsea's heart ached. She finally understood that Aurelia's words were meant to provoke her into exposing her violent side, giving people a reason to catch her.
Such deep scheming.
Chelsea felt foolish. The seemingly gentle and easy-to-manipulate Aurelia was never an easy person to deal with.
Tears blurred Chelsea's vision. She glanced at the person taking her away, the uniform making her tremble with fear.
She didn't want to end up like her mom, tortured to death after a few years inside. Once she went in, Aurelia wouldn't let her go easily. With Nathaniel's protection and the Semona Family's background, she felt it was a dead end. No matter how many years the law sentenced her, she wouldn't live to see the outside.
"Chelsea, please come with us!" The police noticed she wasn't moving and shouted. Then there was a thud.
Chelsea collapsed in the conference room, fainting.
In just a few seconds, Chelsea woke up, frowning and crying out in pain.
She curled up on the floor, sweating profusely, her bangs wet, looking very distressed.
Someone called an ambulance, and the paramedics came to carry her onto a stretcher, her clothes stained with blood.
After Chelsea left, everyone cleaned the office and gradually returned to their usual work state.
Nathaniel stayed in Aurelia's office for a while longer, feeling relieved that he had followed her up and hadn't been sent away immediately. Otherwise, she would have been hurt today.
Once everything was settled, Nathaniel felt a stinging pain in his back, and his shirt became sticky. He touched it and found blood.
This scared Aurelia. He was wearing a black shirt today, so it wasn't noticeable.
Aurelia pulled down his collar a bit and saw a large bruise and a bleeding wound, with a large area of his neck stained red.
She lost the mood to work, grabbed her bag from the rack, "Nathaniel, let's go to the hospital."
Aurelia was anxious.
Nathaniel forced a light laugh, "No need to trouble yourself, I'll just go home and change my clothes."
"Do you not understand what I'm saying?"
Aurelia rarely lost her temper, and her angry shout stunned Nathaniel.
He didn't dare to speak further and obediently followed her downstairs. She walked ahead, and Nathaniel followed closely behind. They walked to the car.
"Where are the keys?"
Nathaniel obediently handed her his car keys, and Aurelia sat in the driver's seat.
She drove to the hospital, parked, and quickly led him to the queue.
Nathaniel, like a well-behaved child being taken care of, didn't say anything that might provoke her. He did whatever she asked.
He suddenly felt that the pain was nothing; it was all worth it. His neck hurt, but he enjoyed her concern for him, which gave him a sense of security. He felt he was important to her, at least more important than her work.
Nathaniel was led by Aurelia to get his wound treated. They held hands as they left the clinic, having spent the entire morning without doing any work, which was a delay.
Aurelia squeezed his palm. "Why are you so silly? Would you block a knife too?"
Nathaniel was scolded, but he felt good. "It was an unconscious reaction. When I saw something coming, I naturally blocked it. If you ask like that, I can't answer. You only know after experiencing it."
Aurelia glanced at him. "Still stubborn! I'm not stupid. If you didn't pull me, I would have dodged myself!"
Nathaniel shrugged indifferently, as long as she wasn't hurt.
They walked to the elevator, and when the door opened, there was a uniformed officer inside. Aurelia realized it was one of the police officers who had taken Chelsea away from the company.
The officer nodded in greeting, and Aurelia returned a polite smile. After a few seconds, she asked, "Officer, how is the lady who caused trouble at our company just now?"
The officer replied, "It's not your fault. She had health issues, and combined with emotional agitation, lack of rest, and a bad fetal position, it was only a matter of time before she lost the baby."
Aurelia was stunned, "She lost the baby?"
The officer nodded.
