Chapter 83 Don't Let Him Come to Aurelia

The noise here shattered the quiet of the cafe, and now all eyes were focused on the three of them.

Chelsea looked at the gazes coming from around. Their eyes were full of disdain and sarcasm, resembling that of monsters. She felt as if they were nailing her to the pillar of shame of an adulterer.

"I'm not the adulterer. She is..."

She silently repeated in her mouth, her body slowly sliding down to the ground and fainting.

Aurelia watched as she was carried onto the ambulance and called Norman. If it weren't for fear of Chelsea blackmailing her, she never wanted to dial that number again in her life.

Norman made a call to Nathaniel.

Inside the hotel, Nathaniel stood tall with long legs by the window, listening to Norman's complaint on the phone. He didn't believe that Aurelia would be as malicious as Norman described, causing Chelsea to have a seizure in public. He was more upset by the stark difference in Norman's attitude towards his two daughters.

As a father, he could understand worrying about Chelsea falling ill, but he couldn't let him speak so maliciously about his other daughter. Chelsea was his daughter, and so was Aurelia!

"I understand. I will contact the best doctor to treat Chelsea."

Nathaniel hung up, thinking back to the malicious face Norman had shown when he slapped Aurelia in the hospital last time. He was now deeply troubled.

Would Norman strike again while he's away?

"Zack, have someone keep an eye on Norman; don't let him come to Aurelia."

Zack received the order and immediately contacted Imperick's men.

"Do you have anything else?"

Nathaniel asked Zack as Zack finished his task, looking up at him.

"Mr. Heilbronn, today, the Thompson Group's stocks opened limit up again. I checked the news but didn't see any positive news. It feels a bit strange like someone is maliciously manipulating the stocks to disrupt the market."

Nathaniel frowned. "It's only this one stock, not to the extent of stock manipulation. Let's observe for a couple more days. I think someone is buying up the scattered shares of the Thompson Group."

Zack was surprised. "What's the point of buying up his scattered shares? Did something happen to the Thompson Group?"

Nathaniel's expression remained calm. "Let's keep observing; I'm just speculating. Norman is a very cunning person, and he's not easy to fool."

"Should we remind him?"

Nathaniel looked up suddenly. "I don't need to remind him."

Previously, Nathaniel respected Norman as an elder. But since he learned about his relationship with Aurelia and witnessed him hitting Aurelia, that respect for Norman had disappeared.

Those who don't respect others shouldn't expect respect in return.

Nathaniel himself didn't realize he was defending Aurelia.

Zack paused, thinking to himself, 'Norman, the poor old father-in-law, must've gotten on Mr. Heilbronn's last nerve. Maybe he spilled some family secrets or something.'

On the other side, Aurelia was feeling upset about her mother's villa being sold.

She decided to ask Oscar first. He should be aware of this matter.

"Mr. Moore, hello, this is Aurelia."

Oscar was quite surprised to receive a call from Aurelia, as Nathaniel's boundaries were very strong, and he never privately interacted with their group of brothers.

"Aurelia, why are you calling me?"

"Sorry to bother you, but I have something to ask you. It's not convenient to talk about it on the phone. Do you have time later? Let's have a meal together."

Aurelia checked her watch, but it was still over half an hour before the end of work.

"Come to the Rustic Hearth Eatery. You can find me there."

The Rustic Hearth Eatery was a five-star restaurant under the Moore Family, and if Aurelia remembered correctly, Imperick had more than one.

"Which one?"

"The one closest to the Heilbronn Group building."

And so they made an appointment.

Before leaving work, Aurelia checked the address, shut down her computer, grabbed her bag, and went on time.

In the top private room of the Rustic Hearth Eatery, Oscar was drinking coffee. He probably guessed Aurelia's purpose for coming, but he wasn't sure if he should tell the truth.

He picked up his phone and sent a message to Nathaniel.

Oscar: [Aurelia is looking for me; should I tell her about that matter?]

He needed Nathaniel’s opinion.

Aurelia arrived first before Oscar got Nathaniel's reply.

"Aurelia, you came pretty quickly. I thought you might get stuck in traffic."

Aurelia entered the private room and sat down across from Oscar. Without any pleasantries, she went straight to the point.

"Mr. Moore, I came to see you today to ask about the Lake Villa."

Oscar cleared his throat. Indeed, he guessed right. He glanced at his phone; Nathaniel hadn't replied to him. Should he tell the truth?

"Aurelia, let's order first. We can talk while we eat. It's mealtime now, and you must be hungry, too."

Oscar called the waiter over, handing a menu to Aurelia.

After some thought, Aurelia realized it was a bit impolite to discuss business without ordering food when she had invited him out. She casually picked a few items from the menu, then looked up at Oscar and said, "I'll pay for this meal today."

Oscar smiled. "This is my restaurant. You don't need to pay."

"I said I wanted to treat you to a meal, so I'll pay."

Oscar raised an eyebrow in compromise. "Alright, your husband is rich anyway."

He kept glancing at his phone, but still no response from Nathaniel. He thought, ‘He must be busy with something.’

"Aurelia, what have you been busy with lately?"

Aurelia took a sip of water. "Well, just some simple work."

"Really? Your husband, that heartless boss, has been squeezing the design department. He's known as a strict businessman in the industry, and you're not busy?"

Aurelia fell silent. It was true that she had joined the Heilbronn Group's design department, but people there treated her like a thief, never assigning her any design work or involving her in core projects. She was the least busy person in the entire design department, which suited her just fine.

In fact, she was busier during the days when she wasn't working, taking care of Nathaniel's daily life, meals, and everything about him like a mother.

She didn't realize that she was gradually letting go.

Before Aurelia could respond, Oscar, with a knowing look, said, "I know Nathaniel has been giving you special treatment."

Aurelia pursed her lips in silence. On her first day at work, he made it clear that she should be cautious at the company, as they were in a discreet marriage, and she always remembered that.

So she wouldn't let him give her special treatment.

As they spoke, the table was already filled with dishes. They picked up their forks and started eating.

Oscar was already tired of the food at his own restaurant, so he only took a few bites. Glancing at his phone, he saw that Nathaniel had still not messaged him. He wondered what Nathaniel was up to.

"Mr. Moore, about the Lake Villa in East Lake, I found out it's now under your sister's name. I wanted to ask if you know the details behind this."

Oscar coughed a few times. He wasn't sure what Nathaniel was up to now. Buying the house at Lake Villa was just to please his wife, but he was keeping it a secret. Nathaniel knew that the house meant a lot to Aurelia, but his pride just didn’t allow him to say that he had bought it for her.

He inwardly criticized, 'It's not embarrassing to please the wife; that proud man is too embarrassed to say it, so let me help him out.

Aurelia was still patiently waiting for his answer.
Can't win me back
