Chapter 468 Lick It!
Chelsea's lips quivered as she tried to speak up, but the sight of eleven angry faces around her made her lose her nerve. The words got stuck in her throat, and she chickened out.
Eris, who had just come back from the bathroom, kicked her again.
"Get up and get to work! How many times do I have to tell you? Don't push it, or you'll regret it!"
Chelsea forced herself to get up and clean the toilet, scrubbing it a few times with a brush. She couldn't help but gag. She had just had surgery before being thrown in here, and her body was still weak. Any exertion made her stomach hurt.
The others laughed heartily at her misery.
Chelsea thought that was the end of it, but later that night, she was woken up by the stench of waste. The toilet was right next to her, close enough to touch, and sometimes the flushing water splashed onto her bed.
A prisoner who had just used the toilet kicked her.
"Hey, newbie, get up and clean the toilet!"
She obediently got up to clean, but just a few minutes after lying back down, someone else called her.
"Newbie, get up and clean the toilet!"
She heard this command countless times throughout the night, barely getting any sleep.
In the early morning, just as the sky began to lighten, someone else came to use the toilet and stepped on her hair, possibly on purpose.
Having just undergone surgery and not having had a chance to recover, combined with a sleepless night and a foul mood, Chelsea couldn't hold back any longer and snapped,
"Watch where you're going! You stepped on my hair!"
The atmosphere turned icy. The next second, a foot in a slipper stomped on her face.
"What did you say? Say it again, I dare you."
Chelsea was on the verge of breaking down. She had never been humiliated like this in her life. Maria had always protected her well, and even as Norman's illegitimate child, she had never been treated unfairly.
She had experienced the best and most enviable things in life.
Now, she couldn't let herself be trampled into the mud.
Chelsea shouted again,
"Get your foot off me!"
She pushed the foot off her face and sat up, only to be surrounded by a group of people.
Someone grabbed her hair and dragged her backward.
"You're the first to talk to Eris like that in here. Let's see what you're made of. Even a porcupine would have its quills plucked out today."
A slap landed crisply on her face, making her ears ring. Her face went numb, and before she could recover, someone dragged her toward the toilet.
"The toilet wasn't cleaned properly yesterday. Lick it clean before you can use it!"
Everything that happened to Chelsea in the cell was reported to Joe in detail.
Joe leaned back in his leather chair, holding the phone, and instructed,
"Keep an eye on her. Don't go easy. Make her suffer slowly."
"Understood, Mr. Semona."
Aurelia rushed to the office for an early meeting. In the morning, she had to oversee a photoshoot for Karma Jewelry's new ad campaign. She and her team had to go to the shoot location.
The key pieces for the shoot were all packed in a secure case.
Aurora, who was carrying the case, was supposed to go with a designer. When they got downstairs and realized they didn't have a car, she felt uneasy walking with such a valuable case. She worried someone might try to snatch it.
Just as Aurora was about to call Aurelia to borrow her car, she saw her coming out of the building with keys in hand.
"Ms. Semona, are you coming with us?"
Aurelia nodded.
"Great, I was worried about how we'd get there."
Aurelia drove them to the location. Aurora, holding the case, had never been so nervous. She only relaxed once they were in the car.
"Ms. Semona, how much is this case worth?"
Designer Jack chimed in,
"Anna herself designed eighty percent of the jewelry in there. They haven't hit the market yet and are one-of-a-kind. Considering her status in the jewelry design world, how much do you think they're worth?"
Aurora patted her chest,
"Thank goodness Ms. Semona is with us. If we lost this on the way, I couldn't afford to pay for it even if I sold myself."
Aurelia glanced at her in the rearview mirror, seeing how scared she was over a case of jewelry.
"You better be careful. When we get to the shoot, don't get distracted by Phoenix. If you lose anything, you'll still be responsible."
Aurora yelped,
"Ms. Semona, I wouldn't dare! Please don't scare me."
"Do I look like I'm joking?"
Aurora blinked and swore to herself that she wouldn't even glance at Phoenix. Losing this case would be the end of her.
They soon arrived at the location. Aurelia parked the car, and the three of them got out, carrying the case. Aurora squeezed between the two for extra security, following closely.
Inside the studio, Phoenix was getting his makeup touched up.
His features were so striking that he hardly needed any makeup. The artist was only darkening his eyebrows a bit for the camera.
Seeing Aurelia and her team enter, Phoenix grew impatient and urged the makeup artist,
"Are you done yet? There's not much to do for a guy."
The makeup artist put down the eyebrow pencil,
"Mr. Sawyer, hold on. I'm just adding some contour to enhance your features."
Aurelia and her assistants watched him get his makeup done. It was her first time seeing a man get makeup, and looking at Phoenix in the mirror, she couldn't help but recall Aurora's words,
"Phoenix is the most handsome star in the entertainment industry over the last decade. No one dares to challenge his place."
Looking closely, he was indeed very handsome.
The makeup artist finished and asked Phoenix to check the mirror.
Phoenix looked up and saw Aurelia behind him, their reflections side by side.
The designer, who was familiar with Phoenix, couldn't help but comment,
"Mr. Sawyer, you and Ms. Semona have such similar bone structures. Both of you have those high cheekbones and small faces. There's a saying that beauty is in the bones, not the skin. But you two have both top-notch bone structure and skin. People like you either have great genes or hit the genetic lottery. Either way, it's enviable."
Phoenix, used to being praised for his looks, was hearing a comparison with a woman for the first time.
He scratched his eyebrow and emphasized,
"I'm a man. You can't describe me as 'beautiful.' But Ms. Semona is indeed beautiful. In the entertainment industry, no woman can compare to her."
Phoenix then turned to Aurelia and asked,
"Ms. Semona, have you ever considered entering showbiz?"
