Chapter 145 Are You Pregnant Too?
Aurelia glanced at the water Chelsea handed her and thought, 'Who do you take me for, a fool?'
"Since you consider me a sister, I think the water in your hand taste better. How about we switch them?" Aurelia suggested.
Chelsea was momentarily taken aback but quickly responded, "Aurelia, these two glasses of water are bothlemon water. I just drank from this one. I don't mind switching with you, but I've caught a cold lately and don't want to pass it to you."
Aurelia fixed her gaze on Chelsea for a few seconds, causing an uncomfortable feeling in Chelsea's heart.
"If you have a cold, I wouldn't dare use a cup you've touched either. You'd better drink both of them. When you have a cold, it's important to drink plenty of hot water and boost your vitamin C intake," Aurelia replied.
Chelsea realized that the woman in front of her had changed. She was no longer as easily fooled as before. It was clear she was cautious and less easily manipulated.
At that moment, Nathaniel finished his cigarette and came downstairs, seeing the three women engaged in conversation.
For some reason, he wanted to avoid the situation. He didn't dare face Chelsea now, let alone Aurelia. Unfortunately, these two women had come together, along with the troublemaker Ashley.
He turned to leave, but Ashley noticed him. "Nathaniel, hold on."
Nathaniel hesitated, then forced himself to walk over. His gaze swept over the three women as he asked, "What are you all doing?"
Chelsea burst into tears in an instant. "Nathaniel, Aurelia offered me water, and I started feeling some stomach pain after a few sips. Can you help me?"
Chelsea was so weak that she could barely stand and needed support.
Nathaniel regretted it. He should have stayed on the deck until the yacht docked.
Before he could reach out, Chelsea had already clung to him, crying and complaining, "Nathaniel, I think there's something wrong with this water. Can you check it? My stomach hurts. Will our baby be okay?"
Ashley was extremely anxious. "Chelsea, don't worry. There's a family doctor on the yacht. Although the medical equipment here isn't as comprehensive as a hospital, his medical skills are reliable. Let me call him over right now."
Ashley immediately called the family doctor.
Chelsea was helped to a chair in the restaurant to rest. A few minutes later, the family doctor arrived. Ashley greeted him, "Dr. Carter, please come and check on Chelsea. She's in a lot of pain in her stomach. Do you think she might be having a miscarriage?"
Benjamin Carter was a family doctor who specifically served the Heilbronn family. Trained by a famous doctor in Imperick, he was highly skilled and had exceptional medical expertise.
The Heilbronn family's money enabled them to secure such a fantastic doctor.
Benjamin scanned Aurelia and Chelsea's pale faces and noticed that both of them didn't look well. Chelsea was sitting in a chair, clearly in a lot of pain and discomfort.
After examining Chelsea, he asked, "This young lady is pregnant, but there is nothing wrong with her body for now. Where are you feeling unwell?"
Chelsea immediately cried out, "My stomach hurts. Dr. Carter, I started feeling pain after drinking the water she offered. Could you please check if there's anything wrong with this glass of water?"
Aurelia was speechless. Each time Nathaniel was present, Chelsea seemed like a poorly skilled actress. But she was curious about what was actually in that glass of water.
Nathaniel watched the scene coldly, feeling a headache coming on.
Benjamin took the glass of water, sniffed it, and his expression changed instantly. "Ms. Thompson, where did this water come from? It contains abortion medication. You must not drink it."
Chelsea was stunned and immediately started crying. "Nathaniel, I'm so scared. Why would she give me this? My baby is only a few weeks old, and he is not yet formed. Why would she be so heartless towards me?"
Nathaniel was also shocked. He had thought it was just jealousy between women, never imagining that someone would resort to such a cruel act as putting abortion medication in the water.
He turned to Aurelia, his expression filled with doubt as if he was questioning her.
That glance made Aurelia feel very sad. "Nathaniel, Chelsea handed me the water. I didn't drink it. She's trying to frame me. If you don't believe me, you can check the surveillance footage."
Nathaniel just wanted to know the truth, but he didn't want this embarrassing incident to become public knowledge.
"Aurelia, according to what you're saying, Chelsea offered you the water and put drugs herself. Why would she give you a glass of water with abortion powder in it? Are you pregnant, too?" Nathaniel asked.
According to her words, this situation made no sense. Why would Chelsea put abortion powder in Aurelia's glass? Who was lying?
Aurelia's breath caught, feeling as if a bolt of lightning had struck her mind. "No," she replied.
Chelsea smirked inwardly. Aurelia was indeed a smart person; even in this situation, she didn't dare reveal her pregnancy. Chelsea was certain that Aurelia cherished her child exceptionally and was afraid that Nathaniel might harm the baby in her belly.
At that moment, Benjamin, noticing Aurelia's pale face, asked, "Madam, you don't seem well. Would you like me to examine you?"
Nervously, Aurelia wiped her sweat, unconsciously hiding her hands behind her back. "No, thank you, Dr. Carter."
Chelsea looked pitifully at Nathaniel. "Nathaniel, you must protect our baby. It is my only chance to be a mother. If I lose him, I don't want to live anymore. I'll die with my child."
Nathaniel had a slight stress reaction to the word "die" coming from Chelsea's mouth. Every time she mentioned that word, he felt a tightness in his chest, as if he were being threatened and suffocated.
With a stern face, he said, "Stop crying. No one will harm you."
But Chelsea persisted, "Are you going to ignore the person who hurt our baby? I don't even know how is our baby now. Is he in pain?"
Placing her hands on her belly, she continued, "Baby, don't be afraid. I will protect you and won't let anyone harm you. If anything happens to you, I will go with you to the end. We won't spare those who harm us."
Ashley, standing by, was also on the verge of tears. "Nathaniel, teach Aurelia a lesson. Look how heartless she is. She could harm an unborn child. Luckily, nothing serious happened today, but you absolutely cannot let her off easily. If this isn't handled properly, more serious things could happen in the future. It would be a hard time forChelsea to watch out for someone trying to harm her constantly. It's not good for the baby either."
Nathaniel's mind was in turmoil. Chelsea and Ashley wouldn't stop talking, and the accused Aurelia stood calmly to the side.
He raised his eyelids and asked her, "Do you have anything to say?"
