Chapter 561 Extra 2: Wedding
The wedding venue was in Imperick, a location carefully chosen by Dominic and Matthew after extensive deliberation.
The two men had been close friends for years, and now, through a twist of fate, they'd become in-laws.
Outside of work, they were practically inseparable, poring over every detail of the upcoming celebration. They'd reserved Imperick's most prestigious seven-star hotel for the occasion—with two couples tying the knot, the preparations were extensive. Workers had begun decorating a full week in advance.
The Sawyer, Heilbronn, and Semona families had invited virtually every power player in the business world. The wedding would be a gathering of titans, with reporters fighting tooth and nail for access to cover the event.
Meanwhile, Aurelia and Burry were at the Sawyer family home, having their hair and makeup done while waiting for their grooms to arrive.
Phoenix had called in every friend and female classmate he could think of—the house had never been so lively.
When Nathaniel and Marcus arrived, they found themselves completely surrounded. Phoenix had prepared an elaborate gauntlet of challenges, determined that anyone wanting to marry his sisters would have to earn the privilege.
"First challenge," Phoenix announced with a grin, "you need to perform that viral dance that's all over social media. No dance, no entry."
Nathaniel looked genuinely stumped—he rarely scrolled through social media videos. Marcus had at least seen the dance a few times online, though he certainly couldn't perform it.
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Dancing isn't exactly my forte. How about I analyze the stock market's trajectory for the next week instead?"
Phoenix snorted. "Are you here to marry my sister or give investment advice? If you want to take my sisters away, you'll learn this dance right here, right now. If you can't handle this simple challenge, you might as well head home!"
Nathaniel sighed, realizing Phoenix was savoring this moment of revenge. Fortunately, one of the groomsmen raised his hand, volunteering to teach them the choreography.
Phoenix gestured for everyone to clear some space as the talented groomsman stepped forward to break down the moves.
Soon, Nathaniel and Marcus—two titans of industry who usually commanded boardrooms—found themselves learning viral dance moves alongside their entire groomsmen party.
After ten minutes, Phoenix's patience wore thin. "Come on, guys! How long does it take to learn a simple dance?"
Nathaniel exhaled slowly, mentally noting to settle scores with Phoenix after the wedding. "We've got it. Let's do this."
The music began, and Marcus and Nathaniel, dressed in their bespoke suits, took position at the front with over a dozen groomsmen behind them.
They moved in sync with the beat, and despite lacking the fluid grace of professional dancers, their movements were surprisingly precise.
The Heilbronn genes were clearly strong—they picked up choreography quickly. Combined with their imposing height and expensive suits, there was something almost surreal about watching these powerful men perform a viral dance routine.
Upstairs, Aurelia watched the livestream someone was filming for her, nearly ruining her makeup from laughing so hard.
Knowing Nathaniel's proud and particular nature, seeing him reduced to dancing was rarer than a solar eclipse.
Phoenix put them through several more challenges before finally allowing them to see their brides. When Nathaniel pushed open the door and caught sight of the flowing white wedding dress, he froze for a moment, then quickly shut the door and stepped back out. Down the hall, Marcus emerged from his room as well.
Phoenix found his ear being tugged by Nathaniel. "Phoenix, you sent us to the wrong rooms!"
After overcoming countless obstacles, Nathaniel and Marcus finally collected their respective brides. A convoy of over twenty luxury cars took up two lanes of traffic as they made their way to the wedding venue.
In their own car, Dominic and Madeline sat with tears streaming down their faces. Aurelia and Burry were getting married. As a father, Dominic had only just found his daughters a few months ago, and now he was giving them away—the bittersweet irony wasn't lost on him.
Madeline felt the same way. She'd finally welcomed two daughters into their home, only to see them married off so soon.
But what choice did they have? Children grew up, and you couldn't prevent them from finding happiness. This date had been carefully chosen by Dominic and Matthew as the most auspicious day for weddings this year—they couldn't let it pass.
Madeline patted Dominic's hand consolingly. "Don't be too sad. We just need to find Phoenix a wife to bring home!"
Dominic nodded emphatically in agreement.
When the wedding procession arrived at the venue, the invited guests fell silent, all eyes turning toward the cars. As they watched the two grooms help their brides out of the vehicles, guests rushed to congratulate Matthew and Beatrice.
The ceremony began under the minister's guidance, with both couples walking down the aisle bathed in romantic lighting. Some guests noticed that the two flower children helping Aurelia with her train were Jacob and Dorothy—the couple's own children.
After the rings were exchanged, the minister posed his question. "Gentlemen, do you have any words you'd like to share with your brides?"
Marcus gazed lovingly at Burry before responding. "In sickness and in health, you're the only one for me in this lifetime. So no matter what we face, please trust me first, lean on me, think of me as another part of yourself. You can always count on me."
Burry nodded through her tears. "I trust you."
When the microphone reached Nathaniel, he stared at Aurelia in wonder, taking a long moment before speaking. "Aurelia, I feel like I'm dreaming, and you're a hundred times more beautiful than anything my imagination could conjure."
Aurelia fought back laughter, catching his eye and whispering so only he could hear, "Nathaniel, be serious."
Nathaniel collected himself. "Aurelia, thank you for marrying me. Thank you for making my dreams come true. My life is complete."
He pulled her into an embrace, and those simple words moved everyone who knew their story to tears—especially Zack, who understood better than anyone how difficult their journey had been.
They had finally found their way to each other.
