Chapter 445 The Nurse Only Brought Out One

Phoenix said, "My grandma keeps saying I don't do anything serious, that I ignore the family business and just wander around. You come and prove to her that I'm not just wandering; I'm doing serious work!"

After Phoenix finished speaking, he asked Nathaniel, "Nathaniel, you'll come too, right? My grandma was asking about you the other day."

Nathaniel turned to Aurelia and asked, "I need to go. Do you want to come with me?"

"Let's go together then."

Phoenix was so happy that he changed his tone, "I'll be waiting for you guys tomorrow. Call me when you arrive, and I'll come to the entrance to pick you up."

After saying that, Phoenix spent the rest of the trip napping in his seat, not saying much more.

Aurelia and Nathaniel got off the plane and headed straight to the prison outside the city.

Nathaniel had already informed someone he knew, and the person who came to receive them was Eldon Soto.

"Mr. Heilbronn, Ms. Semona, the inmates are currently working. They will have a break in about ten minutes. Please wait here for a moment."

Eldon brought two cups of water, and Aurelia casually asked, "How has he been behaving inside?"

Eldon replied honestly, "Norman is a bit cunning, knows how to slack off, but it didn't take long for him to fall out with his cellmates. They all look down on him, think he's lazy, and he often tries to take advantage of others in small matters. Now, he's isolated by his cellmates."

Aurelia took a sip of water, "That's just the kind of person he is, always trying to get something for nothing and treating others like fools. It goes to show that no matter what, one should never go against morals and conscience to do bad things. Retribution will come sooner or later."

As they spoke, ten minutes passed.

Aurelia and Nathaniel followed Eldon to the visitation room.

Just like last time, Norman was a bit excited and had guessed that the person coming to see him was Nathaniel. He was a bit surprised to see Aurelia as well.

"You are here?" Norman wiped the sweat from his forehead. He had just finished working and hadn't had a chance to clean up. There was a noticeable bruise on his cheekbone, likely from a fight.

This time, Aurelia was determined to get some answers from him. Now that Norman had lost both his money and power, his only concern was his daughter Chelsea.

Aurelia asked, "Norman, this is probably the last time I'll come to see you. I already know about the evil things you and your family did to me and my mother. Now, I have only one question for you: Who is my biological father?"

Norman sat across the glass, stunned. He hadn't expected Aurelia to ask such a question. He still held a glimmer of hope for getting out of prison. Last time, when Nathaniel came to press him, he had refused to say anything.

His only hope now was his wealthy and powerful former son-in-law. If it was confirmed that he and Aurelia were not biologically related, then he would have no hope left.

He would never have a chance to regain his freedom.

"Aurelia, where did you hear such rumors? We rarely get to see each other. Don't argue with me. Let's have a heart-to-heart talk."

Aurelia's lips curled into a mocking smile. Norman was still playing dumb at this point. Did he think she would say such things without solid evidence?

"Norman, love can't be faked. When I was a child, I knew you didn't like me. I just didn't understand why a father wouldn't like his own daughter. Until I found out the truth, I finally understood. We are not father and daughter at all. What are you still pretending for?"

Aurelia took out the paternity test report and held it up for him to see. Norman's face darkened. He didn't know when she had become suspicious and gone for a test!

Since the truth was out, there was no need to pretend anymore.

"Aurelia, we may not be biologically related, but you've called me dad for so many years, and I've raised you for so many years. Doesn't that count for anything? I'm still your dad!"

"The so-called kindness of raising me was just a way to take all my mother's assets, use her to help you start a company and develop your career, then conspire with another woman to kill her, and let your mistress and illegitimate child harm me? Sorry, I can't accept this kind of kindness."

Norman, sitting across, started to cry.

"Aurelia, I did wrong. Please forgive me this once. When I get out, I will make it up to you. You and Chelsea are both my daughters. How could I not love you?"

Aurelia found it ironic. To her, Norman's tears were nothing but crocodile tears. She knew exactly what he was plotting.

"Norman, don't disgust me. When my mother gave birth to me, was it twins? Do I have a twin sister? Did you secretly send her away?"

Norman wiped his tears and denied Aurelia's words, "No, the nurse only brought out one baby the day your mother gave birth."

"You can hide things from me, but I will find out the truth sooner or later. However, I advise you to think about Chelsea. She is pregnant now, on probation, and life is very difficult. I don't mind making it even harder for her."

"After all, so many things happened between us. She once wanted my life and my child's life. Maria helped her repay that debt. I still feel a bit uncomfortable. Do you think I should take revenge?"

Hearing Aurelia's words about Chelsea being pregnant and on probation, Norman's face showed a hint of joy, but he couldn't stay calm after hearing the latter part.

He had turned a blind eye to the things Maria did back then. Although he didn't participate, he allowed her to cause trouble and harm for money.

He knew how much those things had hurt Aurelia. Now, it was only natural for Aurelia to seek revenge.

Norman looked at Nathaniel standing behind Aurelia, the legendary untouchable figure from Imperick. He couldn't imagine what terrifying things these two might do to his precious daughter if they joined forces.

He was so scared that his lips turned pale.

"Aurelia, calm down. I'll tell you everything I know. Just promise me you won't make things difficult for Chelsea. She has no one to rely on in this world."

When Norman mentioned his daughter Chelsea, his face was full of guilt and worry.

Chelsea was pregnant and on probation, with no family to take care of her. Not only that, but Aurelia was also seeking revenge on her, and as a father, he could do nothing as others bullied her, unable to protect her.

What could be more powerless for an old father than this?
Can't win me back
