Chapter 373 My Body And Heart Are Yours
As soon as he finished speaking, almost simultaneously, Aurelia refused, "No way!"
Nathaniel wasn't discouraged by the rejection; her reaction was within his expectations.
He just stood there, watching her, "Aurelia, you said you would seriously consider whether to remarry me. How many days has it been?"
He raised a hand and tucked Aurelia's bangs behind her ear, his thumb gently brushing her brow and eyes.
"I want to sleep with you and the kids every day, even if we do nothing at all."
Aurelia's mouth twitched. What kind of talk was that? Even if we do nothing?
If she hadn't reacted strongly just now, who knew what this man would have done next. And now he had the nerve to say such things!
Nathaniel lowered his head and pecked her lips again, his forehead resting against hers, his voice tender, "Let's remarry tomorrow, okay?"
Aurelia had been thinking a lot lately. She really didn't dare to easily agree to remarry him. Besides, she now had family. Even if she wanted something with him, she had to bring him home to meet her grandmother first.
And she knew clearly what kind of impression Nathaniel had in her family's eyes—almost the worst choice for a partner.
"Nathaniel, I can't promise you anything right now."
With their foreheads touching, she could clearly feel Nathaniel's breath hitch. After a few seconds of silence, he asked again, "Then can we at least date?"
He wanted to remarry her but was also afraid she wouldn't be able to adjust her mindset quickly. Nathaniel understood he wasn't a perfect man, and they had had so many misunderstandings before.
It was not easy to mend a broken relationship.
He just wouldn't give up trying to get close to her, to repair this relationship. Even if she gave the slightest response, he wouldn't give up.
This time, Aurelia didn't answer so quickly. Nathaniel gave a bitter smile, "Then can I at least be your trial boyfriend?"
Aurelia was amused by his persistence, "Nathaniel, why are you like this now?"
She still remembered how aloof he used to be. They had been married for more than half a year and still slept in separate rooms. If it weren't for both of them drinking that bowl of soup sent by his grandpa, who knew what the outcome of their marriage would have been. They probably wouldn't have had two adorable kids.
Nathaniel pressed, "What am I like now?"
"Shameless."
Nathaniel laughed in exasperation. It was the first time he had heard someone use that word to describe him. He was the high and mighty CEO, and everyone in the company respectfully greeted him as 'Mr. Heilbronn.' Which business partner wasn't eager to sign a contract with him?
"So, does that mean I can be on trial?"
Aurelia just smiled without saying anything, but her expression made Nathaniel happy. He knew he had already gained some favor from Aurelia; the next step was to see how he performed.
No matter what, her not immediately rejecting him was an opportunity for him.
If there were a hundred steps between them, she didn't need to do anything. Just one look from her, and he would walk all those hundred steps.
"Do you want to try out your boyfriend now to see if he's any good?"
Aurelia straightened up and looked at him, "How do I use you, and for what?"
Nathaniel's chest shook with laughter, "You can use me however you want. Right now, my body and heart are yours, and my money is yours too. How do you want to use me?"
Aurelia paused, realizing she had misunderstood, and her face heated up.
"Nathaniel, have you thought this through? I'm not the same person I used to be. I won't be making you midnight snacks, calling you eight times a day to come home for dinner, or shopping all over the city for ties to match your shirts. Marrying me is useless."
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, thinking, 'So what?'
"It doesn't matter. I'll be the considerate one. As long as one of us is, it's enough. I'll make midnight snacks for the three of you. I'll call you eight times a day to come home. I'll buy the latest season's fashion for you. Do you have any other requests? Now's the time to ask."
He added, "Even if I'm just a trial boyfriend, you can treat me like a husband and enjoy the benefits in advance. Don't just say these things; even if you want me to have sex with me, it's no problem."
Aurelia rolled her eyes at him, "Is that what you really wanted to say? Don't you have anything serious in your head?"
Nathaniel protested, "So, after all that I just said, you only heard the last sentence? Which one of us isn't serious?"
Aurelia was at a loss for words.
Nathaniel lowered his head and pecked her face again, from her forehead, eyebrows, eyes, and nose, all the way down to her lips.
This time, Aurelia didn't resist and tried to accept him.
In the enclosed kitchen, the atmosphere became instantly intimate.
The night wind rustled the branches outside, creating a joyful melody with the sound of water inside.
It was the first time since their reunion that they were so close in heart. Nathaniel kissed her earnestly, wishing he could hold her so close that she would become a part of his heart.
When he touched the hair at her neck, he stopped, "Aurelia, can you grow your hair out again?"
Aurelia had cut her long hair after giving birth to the two kids because she had experienced severe hair loss for a while. Seeing the messy hair on the pillow every morning was frustrating, so she cut it short.
Later, she got used to the short hair, finding it more efficient and easier to manage. Most importantly, the short hair gave her a different style.
From being gentle and obedient, she became more capable, more like a career woman.
She had never thought of developing another relationship with anyone. After that experience, she only wanted to grow her company and make money.
She had been busy lately and hadn't had time to get a haircut. The hair she had cut in Coral Bay had grown a bit and could now be tied into a small ponytail at the back.
Aurelia panted lightly, her head resting on his chest, taking a long time to calm down, "Nathaniel, I actually don't have much confidence in myself."
Nathaniel didn't understand what she meant by that. Aurelia asked again, "Can we not remarry?"
She was genuinely afraid of marriage. Every time he mentioned remarriage, her heart couldn't help but tighten.
She couldn't even explain what she was afraid of; it was just an inexplicable fear.
"I'm a little scared." Her voice trembled, clearly trying hard to control her emotions.
Nathaniel's large hand stroked her back, holding her closer to him, his heart filled with nothing but tenderness. "Of course, whatever you want."
After a long silence, Nathaniel felt a warm wetness on his chest. He swallowed hard, the bitterness almost unbearable.
"Aurelia, I won't force you. If you don't want to remarry, we won't. If you just want to date, I'll date you for a lifetime. Whatever you want."
He pressed her head against his chest and kissed her forehead again, as if he couldn't get enough.
Aurelia gradually calmed down under his soothing, and after a long time, she emerged from his embrace and looked up. She saw a pair of incredibly sincere eyes.
His handsome face was full of allure in the dim night.
She couldn't resist the handsome man, and she had no defense against this face.
Aurelia raised her hand and randomly touched his face, "Can I trust you, Nathaniel?"
