Chapter 57 Get Back What Belongs to Me.

That evening, the Heilbronn Group’s charity auction was held as scheduled.
Aurelia couldn't shake off the worry that Nathaniel might have taken her treasures. She hoped he had handled them with care and not haphazardly stuffed them in a bag.
Ulysses, on the other hand, believed that Aurelia needed to do her hair and apply makeup to match her new dress.
Ulysses dragged her to a renowned hairdressing salon.
Ulysses was satisfied with the result. Aurelia, however, didn’t see much difference in her hairstyle. The stylist just put Aurelia’s hair up and held it in place with a hairpin that was inlaid with pearls.
During lunch, an unfamiliar call interrupted their meal.
"May I speak with Aurelia Semona?" The person across the table uttered her name directly.
"Yes."
"Good afternoon, Miss Semona. We have a $10 million trust reaching maturity here. You are the beneficiary. Would you prefer to withdraw the principal now or continue investing?"
Aurelia paused momentarily. "I have never purchased a trust. May I inquire the name of the grantor?"
"Helen Semona."
Aurelia felt a pang of heartache; she had no knowledge of her mother purchasing a trust for her. Perhaps Helen was aware of Norman's unreliability, leaving her daughter with a form of security.
Aurelia choked out. "I'll take the principal."
Norman's recent financial troubles had almost led to his company's bankruptcy, but he managed to secure an investment.
The company was established using Helen's prenuptial assets. Instead of showing gratitude, he had an affair with Chelsea's mother and fathered Chelsea.
Aurelia couldn't forgive him. Her mother's death seemed suspicious, and Norman had brought Chelsea and her mother back to live in the house Helen bought, leading a happy life.
Aurelia felt she had to do something.
With this money, she suddenly felt empowered.
Aurelia investigated Norman's company and discovered that the Thompson Group's stock was only worth $2. Aurelia smiled.
Ulysses sensed something different in her smile.
"Aurelia, are you planning something?" he asked.
Aurelia chuckled, "Just trying to reclaim what should have been my mother's."
Everything was going according to her plan.
Aurelia planned to handle the trust fund on Monday.
It was time for the charity auction.
Aurelia put on that dress and applied some makeup. After that, she was as gorgeous as a female star.
As they arrived at the International Auction Center, several guests were already presenting their tickets. Only local dignitaries could enter through those doors.
The security guards meticulously inspected each ticket, fearing that someone with dubious intentions might slip through.
Aurelia and Ulysses stood still, about ten steps from the entrance.
"Aurelia, how do we get in?" Ulysses asked.
Aurelia was lost for words as she didn’t take this situation into account.
"Wait here. I'll make a call," she said, taking out her phone and dialing Zack's number.
At that moment, Zack was accompanying Nathaniel, who was socializing.
"Mr. Heilbronn, it's your wife on the line," Zack said.
Zack was somewhat taken aback. He thought, ‘Mrs. Heilbronn rarely calls me.’ He hesitated, debating whether to answer it. He decided to seek guidance from Nathaniel first.
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, curious about the call.
"Let's see what she has to say," he replied.
Zack found a quiet place and answered the call.
"What's the matter, Mrs. Heilbronn?"
"Zack, I'm outside the auction center. Can you come and pick me up or arrange for someone to bring me two entry tickets?"
Aurelia's request made Zack nervous. He knew he couldn't make a decision.
Zack was well aware that the jewelry his boss had brought belonged to Aurelia, and there might be a dispute if she entered.
"Mrs. Heilbronn, I can't leave right now. Please find a place to have a coffee, and I'll come to you after I'm done," Zack said.
Zack planned to bring her in after the auction ended. Nathaniel had worked hard to set up Lolly, so he couldn't afford any accidents today.
Zack hung up and told Nathaniel about Aurelia's plan to attend the charity event. Nathaniel's response was immediate, "Don't let her in."
Outside, Aurelia and Ulysses realized there were no coffee shops nearby. They decided to wait in place.
Instead of Zack, Chelsea, and Ashley arrived.
As soon as Ashley saw Aurelia, she became angry and wanted to confront her.
"Aurelia, what are you doing here?"
Aurelia rolled her eyes. "Do I need to report to you wherever I go?"
"Give back my brother's black card. It belongs to our family," Ashley demanded.
"Nathaniel and I are married. How can I give it to you," Aurelia retorted.
Chelsea intervened, "Aurelia, you must be freezing in that dress. Can't get in? Let me ask Nathaniel if he has an extra ticket to help you."
Aurelia found Chelsea's smugness disgusting. "This is my husband's event. How could I not get in? Can't I just enjoy the breeze here?"
Aurelia covered her nose when she smelled Chelsea's perfume.
"You can stay here and enjoy the breeze."
Chelsea dragged Ashley inside and whispered. "Pitiful. Aurelia can't get in but still wants to pretend at the entrance. Her makeup will be ruined."
"I wonder what Nathaniel sees in her. I bet it won't be long before you replace her."
"Don't even joke about that."
Their conversation reached Aurelia's ears.
Aurelia pretended that she didn’t care, but Ulysses knew she was feeling uncomfortable and remained silent.
The charity auction was about to start in 15 minutes.
Almost everyone had arrived, but there was still no sign of Zack. Aurelia's calls went straight to voicemail.
Zack couldn't possibly ignore her calls; it was Nathaniel who instructed him to do so.
"Aurelia, what should we do?" They stood outside, the evening breeze turning a bit chilly. Aurelia's dress was strapless, and her arms and shoulders were exposed. She felt cold.
Aurelia looked at the distant neon lights, feeling a bit sad.
Nathaniel was inside, squandering her jewelry, while she was barred from entering. Footsteps approached, and Aurelia looked up to see a man.
Can't win me back
