Chapter 487 Not Every Doctor Has Virtue
Aurelia's words caused a stir, and everyone started talking at once.
"Ten percent isn't that much, haha. We've worked hard, let's ride this wave and boost our popularity. Maybe we should get an influencer to promote us?"
"No way, no way. We're in the jewelry business, aiming for a high-end market. Using influencers would cheapen our brand. Ms. Semona should handle the promotion herself. With all the awards she has, we'll definitely get the attention we need."
"I feel like our year-end bonus is practically guaranteed. Let's keep pushing. Ms. Semona is well-known, but not many people know she founded Karma Jewelry. We need to link Lolly and Karma Jewelry in people's minds. Of course, our designs are stunning and eye-catching. In my opinion, there's nothing on the market that looks better than our Karma Jewelry."
Aurelia listened for a while. Everyone was brimming with confidence and enthusiasm. She didn't want to dampen their spirits, but felt the need to remind them,
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Our counters aren't even set up yet, and everything is still uncertain. Regardless of how sales go, we need to work together and be prepared for any outcome. Even if sales aren't great, we need to be mentally ready to accept that."
"Ms. Semona, what are you worried about? With our current designs, we can easily outshine 80-90% of the brands out there. Our main competitor is the Heilbronn Group, but their new releases this quarter have been pretty mediocre. They're just coasting on their large customer base."
"Exactly! Karma Jewelry is the best and most stylish. I don't think we'll have any trouble beating the Heilbronn Group. Ms. Semona, you're worrying for nothing."
"I posted a short video of our main designs, and I've already received dozens of messages from friends asking about them. Even if they don't buy right away, their interest shows our designs are truly attractive. There's nothing in the domestic market that can compare."
Aurelia took a sip of tea, feeling like she was losing control of the situation. Her team was more excited than she was, convinced they were going to dominate the market and even dreaming of acquiring the Heilbronn Group next.
"Let's stay grounded. When I created this brand, I never expected overnight success. We'll take it step by step, and we'll reach our goals as long as we stay united and work hard."
"Anna's right. We'll keep growing Karma Jewelry, making it bigger and stronger, and eventually go international!"
"Time is tight, and the task is heavy. The marketing team should split up and head to four different cities to negotiate for counter placements. This is your battlefield now!"
Aurelia finished with a thumbs-up gesture, and the meeting ended on a high note. Everyone went back to their tasks, energized and busy.
As the workday was winding down, Nathaniel called,
"Aurelia, Rosalind is back in Coral Bay. Let's go to her place. If you're done, come downstairs."
Aurelia checked the time. There were about fifteen minutes left until the end of the workday. Nathaniel always came down a bit early to avoid the rush hour traffic.
She grabbed her bag and quickly headed downstairs.
Nathaniel, dressed in a classic black and white suit, stood in the lobby, looking composed and dignified. When he saw Aurelia, he extended his hand to her.
"I've had someone keeping an eye on Rosalind. While she was away from Coral Bay, she went to Imperick and visited your mom's grave. She found out it had been moved and even asked the caretaker about it."
Aurelia's palms were sweaty.
"Do you think she visited my mom's grave out of guilt?"
Nathaniel pondered for a moment.
"Not necessarily."
He squeezed her hand.
"Let's talk to her first."
They got into the car. This time, Nathaniel didn't need the GPS and drove straight to Rosalind's neighborhood. They remembered the address from their last visit and knocked on the door.
After a while, someone finally answered.
A woman with glasses, looking kind and gentle, holding a baby about a year old.
Rosalind was very cautious. Seeing two unfamiliar faces, she tried to close the door, but Nathaniel blocked it.
"Excuse me, are you Dr. Claire?"
Rosalind hesitated.
"Do you know me?"
"We don't know you personally, but you are the doctor who delivered my girlfriend when she was born. We heard you were in Coral Bay and wanted to talk to you."
Rosalind's gaze was fixed on Aurelia's face, and there was a flicker of panic in her eyes.
"I'm not Rosalind. You must have the wrong person."
She tried to close the door again, but Nathaniel held it firmly.
"Dr. Claire, we haven't even said anything yet. Why are you so scared? Did you do something wrong?"
"I've spent my life helping people, delivering babies, doing good deeds. What wrong could I have done?"
Rosalind's reaction was intense, her voice rising a few decibels. To Nathaniel, it seemed like she was trying to cover up her guilt.
Nathaniel chuckled coldly.
"Just a joke, Dr. Claire. Why so agitated? We just want to ask you a few questions. We hope you can tell us what you know."
Rosalind, holding the baby with one hand, waved the other in the air.
"I don't know anything. You should leave."
It seemed like no one else was home, just her and her grandchild.
Aurelia stepped forward.
"Dr. Claire, does my face look familiar? People say I look a lot like my mom, especially my eyes. Do you think my eyes look like hers?"
Rosalind glanced quickly, then looked away in fear.
"I don't know you, and I don't know your mom. You have the wrong person."
Aurelia pressed on.
"If you don't know us, why did you visit my mom's grave? If you really want to pay your respects, I can give you the address. A few months ago, I moved her back to her homeland, in Coral Bay. I can take you there. My mom deserves an explanation for what happened back then."
Rosalind was extremely nervous.
"I don't understand what you're talking about. You should leave, or I'll call the police."
Aurelia continued to question her.
"Dr. Claire, why can't you look me in the eye? Thank you for not sending me away back then and letting me stay with my mom. Now there's someone who looks exactly like me. Can you explain that?"
Rosalind's mind went blank. She didn't know what to do or say. Holding the baby, she looked very distressed.
