Chapter 258 The Clown

Aurelia slid out of the room sideways, took a couple of steps, then remembered the clothes she was wearing and stopped to ask, "How much is it? I'll pay you back later."

Nathaniel's lips twitched, feeling all kinds of bitter, and he said, "Aurelia, this dress was meant for you. Got plenty more at home. If you dig this style, you can rock a different one every day."

"No need, thanks."

Aurelia smiled politely. Nathaniel had zero credibility with her anymore. She'd trusted him a million times before and got burned just as many. After all that disappointment, she wasn't buying anything he said.

She didn't believe the clothes were for her.

After Aurelia bounced, Nathaniel stood there, feeling like crap for a long time. He knew he had a ton of stuff to do next. He needed to show with actions that he had really changed and was seriously chasing her, begging for her forgiveness.

Zack's call came through again.

"Mr. Heilbronn, that guy said if he doesn't see you by noon, he'll take that secret to his grave, leaving you in the dark forever."

Nathaniel spoke into the phone as he walked to the elevator, "I'm on my way now. Don't beat him to death."

Zack coughed a few times and said, "Mr. Heilbronn, I'm not that violent."

Nathaniel was thinking about the thug, and he quickly headed downstairs to the parking lot, driving off in his shiny new Bugatti.

In the dimly lit abandoned factory, a dude was tied to a chair, shirtless.

Zack and a few bodyguards took turns grilling him, but they couldn't get a peep about why he had kidnapped Aurelia. The guy insisted on talking to Nathaniel.

When Nathaniel arrived, Zack and the others were wiped from all the questioning. The guy was stubborn as hell.

Zack met Nathaniel at the door, saying, "Mr. Heilbronn, he's inside."

"How's his mood? You didn't drive him nuts, did you?"

Zack couldn't help but sigh, "He almost drove us nuts. We couldn't get a single word. He only wants to talk to you."

The two walked inside. When the guy saw Nathaniel's figure, he opened his eyes and perked up, a flash of hatred crossing his face.

"Nathaniel, you're finally here."

The guy cursed and then laughed loudly, looking like he had nothing to lose. Since he dared to kidnap Aurelia, he never planned to survive; he just didn't expect this day to come so soon.

Nathaniel wouldn't let him go. The guy knew how ruthless Nathaniel could be.

Someone of Nathaniel's status rarely had anyone dare to speak to him like that. Before he could respond, a bodyguard standing nearby slapped the guy hard.

The bodyguard seemed specially trained, his broad hand swung with a gust of wind, instantly causing the guy's mouth to bleed and one side of his face to swell visibly.

The guy turned his head back, adjusted his posture, and let out a disdainful laugh.

The bodyguard raised his hand again, about to slap him. Nathaniel made a stopping gesture.

"I heard you have something to tell me. Go ahead, what is it? Want to talk about how you die? Should I throw you into the sea to feed the fish or send you to the African savannah to race with cheetahs? Pick one yourself."

The guy was unfazed by Nathaniel's threats and he said, "First, let go of me, and then I'll talk to you."

Nathaniel wasn't sweating it. He didn't back down from threats and wasn't scared of a face-off. He signaled the bodyguards to untie the guy.

The bodyguards jumped to it, untying the ropes.

Once free, the guy stood up, adjusted his clothes, and stretched his arms. Just when everyone thought he was about to spill the beans, he suddenly lunged at Nathaniel with a knife in his hand.

It turned out he was ready to take Nathaniel down with him all along.

But he totally underestimated the bodyguards' reflexes. Before he could even get close, two beefy dudes had already pinned him down, making him immobile.

The knife clattered to the ground with a sharp sound.

At that moment, he lost it, his eyes blazing with rage, cursing and struggling to fight Nathaniel, kicking wildly in the air.

"Nathaniel, you killed my son. I won't let you off."

Nathaniel sat casually in a clean chair, looking all relaxed and in control. "Are you out of your mind? Even though I don't consider myself a saint, I've never harmed a kid. How old was your son? Spill it."

The guy, held by the bodyguards on either side, was still kicking wildly, panting heavily like he was about to explode,

"My son wasn't even three months old, still in his mom's womb. You gave her a pill that turned him into a pool of blood. You deserve to die, and that woman deserves to die too. You two should go to hell and apologize to my unborn son!"

Upon hearing this, Zack's heart skipped a beat, and he turned to look at Nathaniel.

Zack had been Nathaniel's right-hand man for years and knew everything about his life and work. He had personally bought that pill and handed it to Nathaniel.

But how could Chelsea's baby be this guy's?

Nathaniel paused his smoking, his hawk-like eyes fixed on the guy, sending chills down everyone's spine,

"What did you say? Make it clear. I aborted Chelsea's baby. Whose kid was it?"

The guy laughed maniacally, tears welling up in his eyes,

"You had no idea, did you? You never even slept with Chelsea. That night, she got you drunk just to trap you into marrying her. All she wanted was the title of Mrs. Heilbronn. You meant nothing to her. I was the one she was with! I was the one who fucked her out of bed, and then she called you to complain. Surprised? You're just a fool!"

The guy vented, wanting to piss Nathaniel off. The president of the Heilbronn Group, being blackmailed by a woman with a baby that wasn't his, would be unbearable for any man, let alone the high and mighty president of the Heilbronn Group.

Nathaniel didn't get mad. Instead, he flicked his cigarette ash and chuckled, "Say it again. Whose kid was Chelsea carrying?"

The guy said smugly, "No matter how many times I say it, the kid in her womb was never yours. You never had the right to fuck her. Behind your back, she said you were impotent, that no matter how much she tried to seduce you, you wouldn't respond. She thought you had issues in that department. Only I could satisfy her. How do you feel now? Happy?"

Nathaniel saved the recording, locked his phone, and put it back in his pocket.

He was indeed happy. He wanted to set off fireworks to celebrate his current mood.

The problem that had been bugging him turned out to be a lie.

Can't win me back
