Chapter 410 Some People Are Born to Conquer You

Nathaniel forced a smile, trying to gain some benefits for himself. "I also need a pickup!"

"Aren't you a man?"

Aurelia's response was so quick it bypassed her brain entirely. After speaking, she realized Nathaniel was staring straight at her, exuding a dangerous aura.

He asked, "Don't you know whether I'm a man or not?"

As they spoke, it started to rain. They had rushed out and neither had brought an umbrella. Fortunately, the company wasn't far away.

Aurelia pointed to the building ahead. "Let's run back; the company is just over there."

Nathaniel looked around. This spot was actually closer to his home. He had bought a place near her company, thinking it would be convenient to visit her, not expecting it would also be handy for avoiding the rain.

"Aurelia, we actually have a closer place to take shelter."

Aurelia was puzzled, but the next second, he grabbed her hand and ran towards his home.

When they reached the neighborhood, Aurelia realized it wasn't a commercial area but a residential one.

Nathaniel pressed the elevator button, holding Aurelia's hand as they entered and reached his floor.

The elevator opened directly into his apartment. Nathaniel explained, "I bought this place in Coral Bay, thanks to your brother. It took a lot of effort to settle down near you. Want to move in together?"

With that, he opened the shoe cabinet and took out a pair of pink bunny slippers, just her size.

Aurelia stood there, looking around and examining the apartment.

The decor was cozy, showing signs of his life but lacking his usual minimalist elements. The overall feeling was warm and pleasant, with many artistic touches that matched her taste more.

She took off her high heels, which had almost twisted her ankle, and put on the slippers he had provided.

"Nathaniel, these haven't been worn by someone else, right?"

Nathaniel scratched his head. "No other woman has been here. Who else in the world would I prepare slippers for besides you?"

Aurelia was at a loss for words. She had just asked casually; was there a need to be so dramatic?

Ignoring him, she walked inside and saw a familiar wind chime hanging by the floor-to-ceiling window. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was one she had made herself.

Aurelia was surprised. How did this man get hold of her lost wind chime?

Nathaniel quickly took a shower and changed into clean loungewear, coming out with a set of women's clothes, a towel, and underwear.

"Aurelia, go wash up and change out of those wet clothes, or you'll catch a cold."

Aurelia hesitated, wondering if she should shower. She was about to use the excuse of not having a change of clothes when she saw the women's clothes in his hand.

Seeing the rounded shape of the bra in his arm, she felt the temperature around her rise. He had even prepared her underwear at home.

This time, Nathaniel spoke first. "These haven't been worn by anyone else. They're all new, washed, and in your size."

Aurelia stiffly took the clothes from his hand, curious about when he had stocked his home with a full set of women's clothes in her size. But she didn't dare ask, fearing a response like the one about the slippers.

She noticed he seemed to be getting angry earlier. "Where's the bathroom?"

"Follow me." Nathaniel led her to the master bedroom, watching her enter without any intention of leaving.

Aurelia spread out the clothes in her hand and found it was a nightgown, making her a bit nervous. "Why is it a nightgown?"

"Nightgowns are more comfortable."

Aurelia looked closely at the nightgown's style and then at his outfit, realizing they were matching sets, similar to the ones she had bought four years ago when they were together.

She wondered if giving her a nightgown meant he wanted her to stay over.

She hadn't agreed to stay the night!

So she asked, "Do you have anything else?"

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Yes."

Half of the closet space was occupied by women's clothes. Following Zack's advice, he had gradually filled the house with her things, even before he had won her back. Her belongings were more numerous than his.

Nathaniel walked to the closet, and Aurelia followed.

The moment she entered, she was stunned. She had expected him to have some women's clothes prepared but not this many.

Tops, skirts, shoes, socks, even underwear—there were many sets.

Various styles filled the closet, enough to match any outfit, rivaling her own wardrobe.

On the other side hung his clothes, mostly in black, white, and gray, with only slightly more colorful ties.

Anyone who didn't know better would think Aurelia was the owner of this house.

Aurelia sifted through the clothes, picking a casual dress and some underwear.

Nathaniel stood behind her, hands in his pockets, watching silently.

Aurelia carried the clothes back to the bathroom, with Nathaniel following, his gaze fixed on her.

Aurelia turned on the faucet to test the water, but he remained standing there, not intending to leave.

"Aren't you going out?"

Nathaniel didn't want to leave, his voice steady. "I want to make sure you know how to get hot water."

Aurelia thought to herself, even a four-year-old could do this. Did he doubt her intelligence?"I know how!"

Nathaniel stepped out, giving her space.

Only after hearing his footsteps fade did Aurelia feel safe enough to undress. She was nervous, fearing he might burst in.

Given what she know about him, his earlier look and expression suggested he wasn't as calm as he appeared.

Aurelia guessed right.

Nathaniel used all his self-control to leave the bedroom. He went to the balcony for a cigarette, but the desire burning inside him wouldn't subside. Hearing the faint sound of water from the master bedroom only fueled the fire.

He stubbed out the cigarette, grabbed a bottle of cold water from the fridge, and drank half of it in one go. Leaning against the counter, he calmed down, the distance from the bedroom helping to muffle the water sounds.

The sound of footsteps came from the living room. Aurelia was drying her hair with a towel, looking for Nathaniel.

The house was large, making it hard to find someone. Aurelia didn't check the kitchen.

Nathaniel watched her walk around, saying nothing, just observing. The pink clothes against her fair skin made her look like a delicate flower.

Nathaniel finished the rest of the cold water, feeling like he was losing his mind. Even her dripping hair and slender ankles seemed incredibly sexy.

He had never ignored her beauty, and after admiring it for so long, he still felt his self-control shatter in her presence. He pondered, 'Some people are born to conquer you.'

He thought about when she might move in with him, making everything perfect.

"Aurelia, looking for me?"

Aurelia turned to the sound, seeing Nathaniel leaning lazily, his predatory gaze unmistakable even in the dim light.

Can't win me back
