Chapter 109 Aurelia's Trump Card

Nathaniel felt very frustrated when he saw Aurelia's resignation email after a busy morning.

Rubbing his temples, he called Aurelia's extension, intending to give her a lesson, but after several attempts, there was still no answer.

"Zack, go to the design department and get Aurelia here."

Since he couldn't reach her, he had Zack personally go and fetch her.

Seeing the CEO's dark expression, Zack didn't dare to ask questions and went downstairs. He had a vague sense that things were going to be very difficult from now on.

The design department was eerily quiet. Zack walked to Aurelia's workstation and saw that her desk was so tidy that there wasn't even a tissue paper in sight. Her computer was shut down, and the chair was neatly arranged, showing no sign of anyone having used the workstation.

With a bad hutch, he turned to a nearby colleague and asked, "Excuse me, do you know where Aurelia was?"

Tiffany, recognizing Zack from the CEO's office, became nervous and stuttered, "She shut down her computer and left in the morning."

Zack looked surprised. "Did she say anything before leaving?"

Tiffany shook her head. "She took her water bottle as well and told me to contact her on Facebook when I have time."

Zack hesitated, thinking that Aurelia might have left in anger.

"Could you check the drawer to see if there's anything left inside?"

Tiffany obediently opened Aurelia's drawer and found it empty.

Feeling flustered, Zack returned to the CEO's office in frustration.

"Mr. Helibronn, Mrs. Helibronn has left with every last piece of her belongings."

Nathaniel suddenly lost interest in work. He had said a few things to her in the morning, and this was her response. There was no way he would try to keep her!

"Let her go. It's better this way!"

He angrily remarked, "With such low tolerance, she is not fit to be an employee of the Heilbronn Group. Moreover, with the assessment results there, she did not apologize for her mistakes and did not allow her boss to give advice. Aurelia has really been spoiled!"

Letting out a sigh, Zack cautiously asked after a few seconds, "Mr. Heilbronn, wWould you like to give her a call?"

Nathaniel glared at him. "Would you like to be the CEO instead of me?"

Zack left the CEO's office with a heavy heart, found a quiet place, and secretly called Aurelia. He felt that although Nathaniel wanted to bring her back, he was hesitant to say so. As his assistant, Zack had to handle this matter.

Before Nathaniel returned, not just him but the entire company was going to have a hard time.

When Aurelia received Zack's call, she was already on her way to Silvershore Falls.

"Zack, what's up?"

Relieved that the call went through, Zack said, "Mrs. Helibronn, when are you coming back? The company needs you."

He thought, 'Tens of thousands of employees need you; we need you. Please come back soon. Mr. Heilbronn is going to make things difficult for everyone.'

Looking at the scenery rapidly receding outside the window, Aurelia replied, "Zack, I'm on the highway right now, heading to Silvershore Falls with Mr. Reed Heilbronn. I can't come to the company at the moment, and I probably won't need to come back in the future. If you have any issues, make it short."

Zack almost knelt on the spot when he heard Aurelia say she wouldn't return to the company.

"Mrs. Helibronn, please don't be angry. You know Mr. Heilbronn's temper. He may not speak nicely, but he means well."

Zack deduced that Aurelia's departure was likely due to something Nathaniel had said that morning.

Aurelia fell silent for a moment and said, "Zack, it doesn't matter what he said. I've already submitted my resignation email, and Nathaniel should have seen it."

Feeling disheartened, Zack hung up. He knew for sure that his work was going to be very difficult from now on. He guessed that Nathaniel was probably just angry after seeing Aurelia's resignation email and didn't yet know that she had left for Silvershore Falls.

He knew well Nathaniel would definitely be furious if he found out that Aurelia not only resigned but also left home without a word. .

After careful consideration, Zack realized that some terrifying events might unfold next.

After her call with Zack, Aurelia received a scolding from Reed.

"Aurelia, you can't resign. I will arrange for you to move to another department. You've been in the design department, so you can move to marketing next. Try to understand the entire business process of the company within a year and run the company together with Nathaniel. I want you to rotate through different departments because it won't be useful if someone else teaches you; you have to experience them yourself."

Aurelia knew Reed had high expectations of her and didn't know what to say at that moment.

"Grandpa, I'm sorry."

"Silly girl, come and relax with your grandfather first. When we come back, I'll arrange for you to join the marketing department. Don't worry. That boy won't dare to object."

Reed's expression was solemn. He thought to himself that even if Nathaniel dared to oppose him, he had ways to handle him.

Before Aurelia could say anything else, Reed cut her off.

She thought, 'Forget it. I'll accompany him on this vacation for now.' She had sent the design draft to Swan and was uncertain about what would happen to the Heilbronn Group. She felt even more remorseful for Reed in front of her, who had dedicated his life to the Heilbronn Group.

If it weren't for the fear of implicating the Heilbronn Group, she would have exposed Chelsea's plagiarism long ago.

She wouldn't take action until she had reached the point of unbearable tolerance. Since Chelsea had been provoking and testing her limits continuously, she couldn't just sit back and endure endless provocations and taunts from her.

But she realized she had been impulsive recalling what she had done. She should have considered whether there was a better way to suppress Chelsea without involving the Heilbronn Group.

With things already set in motion, all she could do was wait for the storm to come.

She believed that Nathaniel, the business genius, would easily resolve this challenge. Under his leadership, the Heilbronn Group had reached its current position, and he had successfully mitigated all risks and crises.

After driving for several hours on the highway, they arrived at Silvershore Falls at sunset.

Silvershore Falls was a coastal city where houses were not built with a north-south orientation, and she needed help even to distinguish directions.

The Heilbronn family's villa was located near the sea, and their car had come from Imperick, driving off the highway onto a coastal road.

At that moment, the sunset's glow shimmered on the sea, reflecting specks of starlight. It was as if the shattered Milky Way had descended, stunningly beautiful.

The sea breeze flowed in through the car window, dispersing all unpleasant thoughts. Knowing she wouldn't have to face Nathaniel's sharp words for the next few days, she felt completely at ease.

The villa's staff had already prepared everything, including Reed's favorite dishes. Despite this, they had brought a chef from home to accompany them on this trip.

The car pulled up to their villa, a three-story building with a sizable yard.

The place was well-maintained, showing no signs of the owners' infrequent visits.

The yard was filled with various vegetables and fruits, with pink roses climbing up the entire wall, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

There were two bedrooms and a study on the third floor.

Reed stayed in the main bedroom, while Ted used the other one to facilitate taking care of Reed.

Aurelia chose a room on the second floor with a view of the sea, and her luggage had already been moved in.

As she hung her clothes in the closet one by one, admiring the array of vibrant colors, she felt extremely content.

Half of the walk-in closet was filled with Nathaniel's monotonous black, white, and gray clothes, revealing his personality at a glance.

Free from Nathaniel, Aurelia felt relaxed and at ease in her entire being.
