Chapter 132 Everyone Knows Chelsea is the Third Party
Chelsea held the dress in her hands and asked hesitantly, "Do I look okay in this?"
After feeling depressed for many days and crying all morning, Chelsea felt that her eyes were swollen now.
Ashley pushed her into the bedroom and closed the door behind her.
"Believe in yourself. You are the best and Nathaniel's favorite. Otherwise, he wouldn't have accepted Aurelia as a substitute," Ashley reassured her.
Encouraged by her words, Chelsea went to the bathroom first, washed her face, and suddenly felt nauseous as she looked at the flowing water from the tap. She rushed to the toilet and vomited, feeling extremely uncomfortable in her stomach, not knowing why.
Leaning against the wall to steady herself, she changed into the dress Ashley had brought, a style she liked.
Ashley waited outside for a while and, losing patience, pushed the door open. She saw Chelsea in the changed outfit, and her eyes lit up.
"Chelsea, I told you this dress suits you. It caught my eye at Uncle Marcus's store, and I felt it was tailor-made for you," Ashley said.
Chelsea twirled around and asked, "Is it nice?"
Ashley gave a thumbs-up "It's beautiful!"
Feeling better, Chelsea sat at the vanity and started doing her makeup.
Ashley chuckled, "This is the Chelsea I know. Do you know what you looked like when I first came in?"
Before Chelsea could respond, Ashley continued, "Like a defeated rooster. I won't allow my best friend to be bullied by anyone. I'll always stand by your side, no matter what."
After finishing her makeup, Chelsea felt rejuvenated.
"Ashley, I will definitely win Nathaniel back and drive that woman away from your brother," she declared.
On the other side, Nathaniel sat in the car and sneezed a few times while reading the documents.
The designer he contacted had sent Aurelia a new ready-to-wear garment. After she tried it on, she put the dress in Nathaniel's car. This time, Nathaniel made sure to hide the clothes securely, determined to prevent any further accidents.
Zack called to report on work, and Nathaniel put the call on speaker.
"Mr. Heilbronn, after one o'clock in the morning, all the footage in the CEO's office was deleted. However, we can access the elevator footage. Your uncle Marcus and Miss Ashley were seen taking the CEO's private elevator last night and reaching the nineteenth floor. Whether they entered your office is unknown," Zack reported.
Nathaniel narrowed his eyes and replied, "Noted."
Aurelia was driving and didn't want to eavesdrop on his call, but he had put it on speaker, and the conversation was about her. Aurelia's expression soured as she thought about the ruined dress and felt a sense of frustration.
She knew that she and Ashley had never gotten along but were limited in daily life for now. If anything went south on such an important occasion, it would only be embarrassing for the Heilbronn Group. It was unexpected that Ashley would oppose her on such a critical matter, regardless of the success of the press conference.
Ashley had crossed every line in order to make things difficult for Aurelia, acting solely on personal preferences.
"Ashley." She repeated Zack's words, glancing at Nathaniel.
Nathaniel signed his name at the end of the documents, put them away, and looked at her. "Do you think Ashley did this?" he asked.
Trying to control her emotions while driving, Aurelia asked, "Isn't it obvious?"
Nathaniel was irritated that she had no suspicions about Marcus but immediately blamed Ashley. "Marcus also went to the nineteenth floor."
Aurelia nodded. "Uncle Marcus did go to the nineteenth floor, but he is also an important leader of the Heilbronn Group. It's normal for him to be on any floor in the company."
In comparison, Ashley, a frivolous young lady, usually only appeared at the Heilbronn Group building when she needed money. How could she have been on the top floor in the middle of the night? It could only mean she was up to no good.
Aurelia felt it was crystal clear that Ashley was responsible.
Nathaniel's expression turned serious again. He had warned her countless times that Marcus was not a good person and told her to stay away from him. Marcus was very cunning, so much so that even Nathaniel, his nephew, couldn't see through him.
Why did she think Marcus was a good person?
"Aurelia!" Nathaniel called her, looking at her with a stern expression. The atmosphere in the car became tense once again.
Aurelia felt another argument brewing and realized that their relationship was deteriorating rapidly. They had been arguing constantly for some time now.
"Nathaniel, I suggest you don't argue with me now. My driving skills are really not good," Aurelia said, trying to calm the situation.
Nathaniel suppressed his temper, and both of them fell into a silent and tense atmosphere in the car.
When they parked in his designated spot, Aurelia got out of the car without even looking back at him and used the employee elevator to head back to the design department.
The most important task for the Heilbronn Group employees today was to ensure the success of the press conference, which had been accomplished. The office atmosphere was relaxed now.
Everyone was discussing the celebration banquet for the evening, eager to enjoy the cruise, many of them having never been on one before.
When Aurelia entered, the conversation abruptly stopped. Previously, they had suspected her special relationship with the CEO, but now, with Nathaniel announcing the news at the press conference, the design department staff were shocked. They had previously treated Chelsea as the boss's wife and even cooperated in isolating Aurelia.
The truth was surprising. It turned out that Chelsea was the third party, and although Nathaniel had valued her work, he didn't seem to have any romantic intentions toward her. She had taken the initiative to pursue him.
This behavior shattered everyone's perceptions.
Now that they knew who Aurelia was, they were all terrified, fearing retaliation from her.
As Aurelia entered, everyone respectfully nodded and greeted her. She then returned to her workstation, sitting down as if she were there to inspect the work.
Observing the situation, Aurelia couldn't help but smile, "Relax. Nothing changed."
Someone coughed and asked, "Mrs. Heilbronn, you won't tell Mr. Heilbronn about our complaints, will you?"
Aurelia returned to her workstation and replied calmly, "Curse all you want; I hear nothing."
Some people chuckled, and the atmosphere lightened a bit.
"Mrs. Heilbronn, will our celebration banquet last all night? Can family members tag along? My wife also wants to come," someone in the office asked.
Soon, more voices chimed in, "Yes, my boyfriend wants to come too. He's almost thirty and has never been on a cruise."
Aurelia remembered hearing Zack instruct his subordinates in the CEO's office, mentioning that there were extra rooms. Food on the cruise was prepared for double the number of people, and each person's entry pass allowed them to bring a plus one.
"Hasn't Zack sent the email? Each employee should be able to bring a plus one," she said.
Excitedly, a few people exclaimed, "The email is here, everyone. Look!"
True to their excitement, the HR department's email arrived, stating the same as Aurelia had mentioned: each employee could bring one family member.
Someone complimented, "Mrs. Heilbronn's information is so accurate. Can we, the design department, do whatever we want from now on?"
Aurelia felt bitter. She didn't dare to do as she pleased in front of Nathaniel, so how could the design department be any different?
"Please address me by my name from now on. I will be leaving the design department soon. You all keep up the good work," Aurelia said.
Tiffany exclaimed, "Aurelia, you're not staying in the design department. Why? With your talent surpassing everyone here with just one piece of work, where are you going if not with the Heilbronn Group?"
Before Aurelia could respond, her colleague beside her patted her and said, "Are you silly? Mrs. Heilbronn won't stay in the design department like us. She is here to take care of the lower-level employees."
