Chapter 153 Hand Over the Heilbronn Group to Her

Aurelia eyed the folder in Nathaniel's hand, realizing he was dead serious.

She wasn't in the mood for polite pretense; their relationship had moved past that point.

Nathaniel had been like a cold stone for three years. Talking feelings with him was pointless; talking money was more satisfying.

After three years of marriage and with two kids now, taking some money from him seemed fair.

Since she had set this condition and Nathaniel agreed, Aurelia was ready to sign the share transfer document.

"Let's sign it now!" Aurelia stopped, avoiding eye contact.

Nathaniel hesitated. "Should we go to the car?"

His car was parked in the hospital lot, and he felt such an important document needed some formality.

Aurelia replied coldly, "Let's do it here. It was just a signature, not an essay. She could press against a wall and write it, especially with a hard folder to support the paper.

Nathaniel hesitated but handed her the folder, with a pen Zack placed inside considerately.

Unlike signing the divorce papers, Aurelia read every word of the transfer document, making sure there were no issues before signing.

Nathaniel's gaze fell on her hand holding the pen. The same hand that created jewelry adored by the fashion world was now signing divorce agreements and share transfer documents—each stroke a step away from him.

Nathaniel selfishly thought about keeping her in the company even if they divorced. With her help, Heilbronn Group could reach new heights, even surpassing Swan in the jewelry industry.

He had searched the globe for Lolly, and now she was right in front of him, but he was the least qualified to make any demands. He didn't even dare to acknowledge he had found her.

Thinking back to his mocking remarks about her designs and his arrangement of her as an intern at Heilbronn Group, Nathaniel realized those were not just suppressions but insults to his own intelligence.

Aurelia quickly signed her name and handed the folder back.

Nathaniel took it and closed it. "Aurelia, I'll be home for dinner tonight. Ask Betty to prepare more dishes."

He had been away for a while and didn't know Aurelia had moved out.

Aurelia lowered her head. "You can call Betty yourself."

She didn't mention her moving out; outside Reed's room, she didn't want to argue.

As they talked, Matthew and Beatrice hurried in with Ashley. They had been on vacation but rushed back after hearing about Reed's accident, heading straight from the airport to the hospital.

As soon as Ashley saw Aurelia, she angrily approached. "Why are you still here? What did you say to Caleb to make him ignore me?"

Thinking about Caleb's attitude made Ashley furious. She blamed Aurelia for seducing her fiancé. If it weren't for her, Caleb wouldn't be treating her coldly, and not even reply to her messages on Facebook.

Aurelia chuckled. "It's the first time I've heard someone blame others for a failed relationship. Instead of chasing men, maybe you should focus on nourishing your brain."

With her relationship with Nathaniel at this point, she had no reason to indulge Ashley. She didn't bother pretending and went straight to arguing.

Ashley was fuming, pointing at Nathaniel. "Nathaniel, your precious wife is the one causing trouble between Caleb and me. Look at her, acting all innocent. She's a snake behind the scenes. I'm warning you all to watch out for her."

Aurelia laughed coldly. "I didn't say anything bad about you. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't even have his phone number or be friends on Facebook."

Ashley, enraged, raised her hand to slap Aurelia, but Nathaniel grabbed her arm before she could.

The folder in Nathaniel's hand fell to the ground.

Aurelia noticed Nathaniel's hand over hers, which had been on Ashley's arm. She hesitated before pulling her hand away.

Ashley didn't hit anyone, but she was livid. She stomped her foot in frustration.

Matthew and Beatrice arrived, and Matthew scolded, "Stop it. This is a hospital. Both of you are grounded. You can'tleave the house for a week."

Ashley shook off his hand, frustrated. "Dad, why aren't you on my side like Grandpa? Aurelia's the one who messed things up with Caleb. Now he won't even talk to me. Why aren't you saying anything to her? She should be grounded for a year!"

Matthew's face turned cold as he glanced at Aurelia but said nothing.

Beatrice picked up the fallen folder and noticed the title [Share Transfer Document] on the cover.

She looked at Nathaniel in disbelief, opened the document, and saw that five percent of the shares were being transferred to Aurelia. She almost fainted from anger.

Nathaniel tried to snatch the document back, but it was too late. Beatrice had already seen it.

"Nathaniel, have you lost your mind?" Beatrice questioned, her voice shaking. She had been part of the Heilbronn family for decades, raising children, taking care of her husband, and managing the household. It was only two years ago that she had acquired three percent of the Heilbronn Group's shares.

Recently, she had heard rumors about Nathaniel signing a divorce agreement with Aurelia. Now, her son wanted to transfer five percent of the shares to a woman who had only been part of the Heilbronn family for three years and hadn't even had a child yet.

Companies like the Heilbronn Group paid dividends of over 140 thousand dollars per share annually. With Aurelia receiving five percent of the shares, it was like ensuring she would never lack money in her lifetime.

The stark contrast made it hard for her to accept this reality.

She had always been the most gentle-tempered person in the family, never having a falling out with anyone. Reed had approved of her as his daughter-in-law. Now, she couldn't contain her temper anymore, crying as she questioned Nathaniel, "Has this woman bewitched you? Why don't you give the entire Heilbronn Group to her?"

Matthew realized the seriousness of the situation and also moved to grab the document. Nathaniel naturally couldn't let them get it, and in the struggle, there was a tearing sound.

The document was torn.

Everyone stood frozen in place.

Nathaniel's demeanor turned cold, indicating he was starting to get angry.

He was always decisive. He had the right to manage his own shares and wouldn't be swayed by anyone.

Frowning, Nathaniel took back the torn folder, his gaze fixed on Aurelia as he said, "You go first."

With the torn document, Aurelia had become the target of everyone's blame. At this moment, she naturally wanted to escape, and Nathaniel was trying to help her out of the situation.

Nathaniel reached out a hand to her, and Aurelia naturally accepted it, letting him lead her to the elevator.

In just a few steps, she felt like she had a target on her back.

If looks could kill, she might have already died in the gazes of the three behind her.
