Chapter 209 Liver Tremor

Nathaniel asked, "What did she ask you to investigate?"

For Timothy, confidentiality was the most basic professional ethic in his industry. However, Aurelia had unexpectedly passed away under unclear circumstances, all because of the man standing in front of him now.

He felt a deep sense of injustice for Aurelia. Over the years, he had helped her investigate and could deeply understand everything she had endured. After more than five years of interaction, he had long considered Aurelia a friend.

He was angry at the noble Nathaniel in front of him, wishing he could tell him all the injustices Aurelia had suffered, so he could reflect on his past actions.

"Aurelia suspected that her mother was harmed by Chelsea and her mother, and she's been looking for evidence," Tomothy replied.

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed. He only knew that Aurelia's mother had passed away early and that Norman had remarried Chelsea's mother. He had no idea there was something suspicious about Aurelia's mother's death.

"Did you find any useful evidence?" he asked.

Timothy answered truthfully, "This happened a long time ago. The year Aurelia's mother passed away, the police concluded it was just an ordinary car accident. Aurelia was too young at the time to investigate, and the evidence had already been erased by the perpetrator. It's been difficult to investigate, and any leads we found were later cut off by someone."

Hearing this, Nathaniel realized that Aurelia had been harboring such a huge grievance in her heart but had never mentioned it to him. She kept all the negative emotions inside and showed only her best and brightest side to the family.

Timothy continued, "Aurelia has had a tough time. Recently, a woman named Chelsea hired a hitman to follow her, causing her to crash her car. She narrowly escaped with her life. There were several other attempts where Chelsea didn't give up and tried to have her followed and harmed again. It's been incredibly difficult for her to stay safe."

Nathaniel's chest tightened. He only knew that Chelsea had been obsessively harassing him, but he didn't realize that the crazy woman had the audacity to openly hire people to harm Aurelia, completely disregarding him.

He closed his eyes and massaged his temples.

Nathaniel realized it was him who had given that crazy woman the audacity to act without restraint. He had misjudged Chelsea, who was nothing like the kind and innocent girl he had in mind. She wore an innocent face but committed heinous acts.

And through all this, Aurelia had silently endured without mentioning a word to him. Even if she had, he might not have believed her.He realized he had given Chelsea too much unconditional trust.

Timothy took a sip of tea and continued, "Recently, Chelsea and her mother teamed up to desecrate Aurelia's mother's grave, doing all sorts of humiliating things to it. Aurelia rushed over and spent half the night alone at the grave, even though it was raining. She was so heartbroken that she fainted. The cemetery security contacted me to pick her up. Her hands were almost ruined."

Nathaniel felt a pang of regret. He recalled seeing her in the hospital with her hands bandaged and wearing a hospital gown but hadn't delved into why she was in such a state.

That day, she and Ulysses had asked him to question Chelsea about what she had done. He suddenly understood why Aurelia had tied Chelsea and her mother to the grave and made them kneel all night. After knowing what had happened, Natheniel thought such a punishment was too light. If it had been him, he would have torn them to pieces.

Timothy was genuinely angry. Even as an outsider, he had developed empathy for her. Chelsea and her mother had committed such extreme acts that anyone who heard about it would want to beat them up.

He continued, "Mr. Heilbronn, Aurelia's recent accident was definitely not an accident. I specifically investigated it. The driver was driving the wrong way on the road in broad daylight, heading straight for Aurelia on the sidewalk at high speed. In such a sudden situation, even the quickest reflexes wouldn't have been enough to dodge. I found out that the driver had contact with Chelsea's mother, Maria, before the incident, and his account received a deposit of one thousand dollars that day."

Timothy made it clear that the driver wasn't just an ordinary person but a hired killer, with the sole purpose of taking Aurelia's life!

Nathaniel was already aware of this information, as Zack's men had investigated it. He had visited the mental hospital where Maria was staying and had seen her medical records. She was so insane that she didn't even recognize herself, speaking nothing but nonsense.

Timothy's words made him realize that perhaps Maria's madness was an act.

Nathaniel's headache intensified. 'What a vicious scheme,' he thought.

Maria's pretending to be insane had fooled everyone, causing Aurelia to let her guard down and giving her the opportunity to set her up.

Maria and Chelsea were so scheming and ruthless in their pursuit of the Mrs. Heilbronn position, and Aurelia was clearly no match for them.

After work that day, Nathaniel sat in his limited-edition Bentley and instructed Zack, "Go to Diamond Crest Estates."

Zack was taken aback. 'He had recently entrusted me with handling everything related to Chelsea, saying there was no need for him to see her again. Why does he want to go there now?' he thought.

Reluctantly, he turned the steering wheel and headed to Diamond Crest Estates.

The car stopped downstairs, and Nathaniel went up alone. The house's password was his and Aurelia's wedding anniversary, which he was used to. He entered the password and walked in.

Chelsea was inside drinking milk and applying a face mask. Nathaniel had forbidden her from going out, but she lacked nothing in terms of living supplies. Everything was provided at the level of a wealthy housewife. Apart from lacking freedom, her life was quite comfortable.

Seeing Nathaniel enter, Chelsea was both surprised and delighted. She jumped up from the sofa, causing her face mask to fall to the ground in her excitement.

"Nathaniel, you finally came to see me. My belly has grown a lot recently. Do you want to feel it? Our baby is developing well and will definitely be a handsome child," Chelsea said, not noticing Nathaniel's terrifyingly dark expression.

"Chelsea Thompson." He called her by her full name, "You did save my life, but you also harmed my wife and child. It's time to settle this account."

Chelsea's heart skipped a beat. Just then, her phone rang, displaying "Mom" on the screen, which Nathaniel also saw.

Chelsea looked down at the phone on the coffee table but didn't dare to answer it. Everyone was made to believe that Maria had been driven insane that night and was receiving treatment in a mental hospital.

Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, turning her knuckles white.

Nathaniel stood about three feet away from her, exuding a murderous aura. Dressed in black, he looked like the Grim Reaper come to claim her life.

"Answer it!" he commanded, his icy words sending a shiver down Chelsea's spine.

Can't win me back
