Chapter 421 Winning the Award
The next day, the news of Aurelia winning the award came out, and it was shared all over the group.
The champion, of course, was Aurelia.
Another awardee took fifth place, a designer from the Heilbronn Group's design department. For such a prestigious competition, fifth place was also a commendable achievement.
Given Aurelia's understanding of the Heilbronn Group's company policies, even fifth place would earn a substantial company bonus.
At that time, the entire design department of the Heilbronn Group was celebrating this event.
Once the news was officially announced, the media would soon come for interviews. As the leading company in the domestic jewelry industry, winning this award was not surprising; not winning would be.
However, when everyone saw the list of winners, the name of the first-place winner, Aurelia, made the company's small group lively again.
Everyone at the Heilbronn Group, whether new or old employees, was familiar with the name 'Aurelia.'
She was the ex-wife of their CEO and the real-life Lolly, the goddess of the design world. She had been low-key for the past few years and suddenly made a comeback, surprising everyone.
She had been quietly working, and then suddenly made a stunning impact!
[Do you know where Mr. Heilbronn has been recently? It seems he went to Coral Bay to chase his ex-wife. I heard the secretarial department chatting the other day, saying Zack went to Coral Bay, so Mr. Heilbronn must be there too.]
[Oh, no wonder Mr. Heilbronn has been going to Coral Bay so often these past two months. His ex-wife is there.]
[I heard that Mr. Heilbronn plans to shift the company's focus to Coral Bay. They've already rented office space there. Just wait, there will be big news soon; the group is making a major move.]
[What? Mr. Heilbronn is moving the company just to chase his ex-wife? That's so domineering.]
[If she returns to the Heilbronn Group to run the company with Mr. Heilbronn, wouldn't the Heilbronn Group become even stronger? That would be a nightmare for our competitors!]
[Tell us more!]
[Do you know how many companies want to poach Lolly? I guess she didn't dare to reveal her real name online before because she was afraid of getting caught up in corporate wars. She's a treasure in the industry, highly sought after.]
This employee's words at the Heilbronn Group turned out to be prophetic. As soon as the official list of winners was announced, Aurelia's company's phone was flooded with calls. No one knew how those companies got Karma Jewelry's landline number.
Aurora answered countless international calls that morning. Those foreigners were excitedly babbling on the phone, and Aurora could only understand bits and pieces.
These people wanted to invite Aurelia to their companies, offering her any terms she desired.
After dealing with one foreigner, Aurora knocked on the office door just as the phone rang again. After getting permission, she walked in, looking exasperated at Aurelia.
"Anna, all those foreigners want to poach you. I've been answering calls all morning, and now my head is full of languages I don't understand. Their speech is so hard to understand."
Aurelia was enjoying the peace in her office, not answering any of those calls, and hadn't disclosed her private number.
However, her old work email was flooded with messages, all with the same content as the calls Aurora was receiving.
Seeing Aurora's aggrieved face, Aurelia couldn't help but smile. "Any media requests for interviews?"
This question reminded Aurora. "Yes! A media outlet requested an interview this morning. I've scheduled it for Thursday morning."
Aurelia glanced at the calendar on her desk.
"Hang in there a bit longer. During the interview, I'll clarify that I have no intention of joining any team and promote the Karma Jewelry brand. Once they understand our stance, they should stop calling."
Aurora frowned. "Anna, if I had known, I would have scheduled the media for today and had them come this afternoon!"
Aurelia rolled her eyes at her. "It's almost noon. Let's go eat first. If you really don't want to answer those calls, you can ignore them for now."
Aurora's eyes lit up. "Really? Then I'll disconnect the phone line."
A few seconds later, she looked dejected again. "No, Anna, what if other important calls come in? It would cause problems."
"If it's really important, they'll call another number."
Aurora, relieved, skipped out of the office. She really didn't want to listen to those foreigners anymore; she had spent the whole morning answering calls and hadn't done any work.
After Aurora left, Aurelia stood up, stretched her back, and prepared to go downstairs for lunch.
There was another knock on the door. Thinking it was Aurora again, she casually said, "You don't need to bring me lunch today; I'll go downstairs myself."
The office door opened from the outside.
"What do you want for lunch? I'll join you."
Hearing a man's voice, Aurelia looked up to see Caleb, dressed casually, walking in with a suitcase.
A few days ago, he had mentioned over the phone that he was going to Imperick. Judging by his appearance, he had just gotten off the plane.
Aurelia asked, "Mr. Sinclair, did you just get back?"
Caleb placed his suitcase aside and sat on the sofa by the window. "I came straight from the airport. I probably won't need to fly back and forth anymore."
Aurelia called out to Aurora. "Aurora, bring in a cup of tea."
Caleb didn't stand on ceremony; he was indeed thirsty.
Aurora quickly brought a cup of water, which Caleb drank in one go, showing none of the airs of a rich young master.
"Aurelia, I'm both thirsty and hungry. What are you treating me to for lunch?"
"Tell me what you want to eat, and I'll get it."
Caleb thought seriously but couldn't come up with anything.
The next second, Aurelia's phone on the table rang.
Nathaniel said, "Aurelia, look across the street."
Aurelia took her phone to the window and saw Nathaniel standing below.
"Aurelia, want to have lunch together?"
Aurelia hesitated for a second. "Sure, but I have a guest today. Do you mind if he joins us?"
As she said this, Caleb naturally stood up from the sofa and looked across the street.
The two men's gazes met through the windows.
Aurelia's phone felt hot in her hand. After a few seconds of silence, Nathaniel asked, "Is it that fat Caleb?"
Aurelia was worried Caleb might hear this. She glanced at Caleb and thought, 'He's not fat at all. Why does Nathaniel always call him fat?'
She replied, "Yes, it's Caleb. I'm planning to do some advertising and need his help."
Nathaniel frowned slightly on the other end, thinking, 'It's just advertising. Can't I find a reliable media company for you? Why do you need to ask someone else?'
Aurelia said this, but Nathaniel was sure that Caleb had offered his help.
He felt it was time to assert his claim, so Caleb wouldn't keep thinking about Aurelia. "Alright, let's have lunch together. I'll wait for you downstairs."
"We'll be right down."
