Chapter 147 Mr. Semona, When Will You Take the miss Home?

Aurelia nodded. "It's true."

Ulysses saw the determination in her eyes. It was different from two months ago when she stood desolately on the roadside with her luggage, waiting for a ride. She had grown during these days.

Ulysses helped her bring the suitcase inside and then stepped outside. He was a very respectful person. Although they were friends who talked about everything, they were of different genders, so there were still boundaries to be observed.

"Aurelia, don't think about anything for now. Rest well. Feel free to stay here, and we'll have a barbecue tonight," Ulysses suggested.

Aurelia smiled faintly. "Don't worry about me. Go about your business. And I need to use the computer."

Ulysses sent the computer password to Aurelia and then went downstairs to attend to his tasks.

Aurelia emailed the leaders of Swan Company, stating that she would resume producing one design per month as she did three years ago. Her superior at Swan quickly replied to her email: [That's great news. Welcome back.]

Men are unreliable; it's better to focus on making money.

Reed's purpose in arranging their marriage was to take care of Aurelia and provide her with a home. At that time, having just lost her family and feeling lonely and helpless, Aurelia had greatly anticipated the relation with Nathaniel.

Now, this relationhad brought her more negative emotions than positive ones. In this world, the only person one can truly rely on was oneself.

Aurelia calculated her money, subtracting the amount spent on collecting Norman company stocks, the left was enough to buy a medium-sized house in Imperick. But she wanted to leave this place permanently after finalizing the divorce with Nathaniel in a month.

The world was vast, and there would always be a place for her to stay.

She wanted to go somewhere where no one knew her, starting anew with her two babies. Buying a house in Imperick was unnecessary; renting one would suffice.

Ulysses had been busy lately, and she wanted to avoid disturbing him by staying too long at his place. For convenience and support, Aurelia reviewed a few houses for rent on a leasing website, which were close to Ulysses'. After making arrangements with an agent, she set out with a parasol.

The midday sun scorched the earth outside, feeling like a steamer compared to the air-conditioned indoors.

The agent arrived promptly at the agreed-upon location.

"Ms. Semona, the prices of the two houses you were interested in are not very suitable. I have other resources, but they are in the eastern part of the city. Shall we go there first?" The agent suggested.

Ulysses' house was in the west of the city, and Aurelia wanted a place closer to him for mutual support. "Let's stick to the two houses we discussed earlier," Aurelia insisted.

The agent fell silent for a moment. "Alright, let's go."

Aurelia followed the agent and viewed three properties in the vicinity, but none met her requirements. She needed a spacious and quiet study for her creative work.

The houses she saw either had a student practicing drums downstairs or the windows of the study was small , neither of which was suitable.

Reluctantly, Aurelia considered the agent's other resources and followed him to the eastern part of the city.

Upon entering the community, she hesitated. It was an upscale neighborhood with garden houses, lush greenery, and complete facilities, clearly a wealthy area.

She would have to raise her children here. Although Nathaniel had promised her shares, the stock agreement had yet to be signed, and she didn't hold much hope for it. Considering the expenses for the future, like buying a property in another city, childcare, and education, the costs were adding up. She needed to be frugal.

After weighing her options, Aurelia decided to give up. "I won't look at the houses here. I probably can't afford the rent."

The agent reassured her, "Ms. Semona, don't worry. You can definitely afford it. This house was entrusted to me by a relative who has already gone abroad. They aren't relying on the rent money; they are just looking for someone to take care of it. As long as you take care of the house, you can move in without any worries. Why not take a look since we are already here?"

Aurelia thought, 'It wouldn't hurt to take a look, as the agent had said, I'm already here.'

Soon, they arrived at the house available for rent. There was only one unit per floor, and it had direct elevator access, making it secure.

The house had good lighting, a cozy interior, and a large study with a wall-to-ceiling bookshelf and a spacious desk in the center. The landlord seemed a warm person, unlike Nathaniel, who decorated his home and office with black, white, and gray.

Aurelia liked the house, but she felt a bit sorry considering her financial situation.

Standing by the living room window, she looked down at the artificial lake below, enjoying the view.

The agent approached her. "What do you think, Ms. Semona? If you're satisfied with this house, I can go back now to draft the contract, and you can move in this afternoon. The facilities here are complete. You don't need to prepare anything; just move in with your bags."

Aurelia cleared her throat. "How much is the rent for this house?"

The agent gestured. "It's free as long as you're satisfied."

Realizing his mistake, he quickly corrected himself, "It's 400 dollars per month, payable monthly or quarterly, whichever suits your financial situation."

Aurelia was surprised. "Only 400 dollars?"

In this prime location, the average price per square meterwas close to 30 thousand dollars. Such a good house couldn't possibly rent for only 400 dollars; at that rate, you could only rent a toilet.

The agent explained, "Ms. Semona, the owner's daughter is studying design in the country, and since you're a designer too, you can give her two classes a week in exchange for the rent. I've had trouble finding a suitable teacher for her, so that would be a big favor."

Aurelia realized this arrangement wouldn't be taking advantage of the situation.

At her level, if she openly accepted students, her home would be overrun. Teaching the landlord's daughter could offset some of the rent.

They discussed and decided to sign the rental contract for this house.

Unknown to Aurelia, across the artificial lake in the opposite community, a man was watching her through a high-powered telescope.

"Mr. Semona, how long should Ms. Semona stay here? When should we bring her home?" Joe casually slipped his hand into his pocket and asked.

"Not rush. There are still some things I need to figure out before revealing our identities. Arrange a few more people here for her safety. If that woman shows any signs of harm toward her, act immediately," The man said coldly.

"Understood, Mr. Semona," Joe replied.

"Also, keep an eye on Nathaniel at all times. Don't let him get near the community," The man added
