Chapter 33 She's About to Die.
Aurelia almost thought she had misheard.
"Not divorce? So, you, Chelsea, and I will live together?"
Nathaniel was rendered speechless by that question.
Aurelia continued, "Can you not love Chelsea? Can she not love you?"
Obviously, they both could not.
Just then, Nathaniel’s phone rang. It was Chelsea.
"Nathaniel, my heart is acting up. Am I going to die? I'm so afraid I won't see you when I open my eyes."
Aurelia sneered. She heard Chelsea's voice.
"See, she can't leave you. Go to her. If you're any later, she'll be dead."
Nathaniel silently smoothened his clothes.
As he was about to leave, he said, "Our relationship isn't what you think."
The movie was left unfinished.
The door closed, and Aurelia suddenly thought of something.
She felt warm when he said he wouldn't divorce.
She thought, ‘Chelsea can make him leave me with a phone call at any time. I’d better not fantasize that he still loves me.'
Aurelia returned to the guest room and locked the door.
She thought, 'It's good that he's gone. I don't have to find a way to get rid of him anymore.'
Nathaniel's absence for one night was expected by Aurelia.
The next day, Aurelia went to the company and found that Chelsea had yet to show up. Perhaps Chelsea's heart condition had really acted up.
Around noon, Ted called again.
"Mrs. Heilbronn, come to the president's office for lunch."
Aurelia arrived at the president's office, feeling uneasy. The office was empty.
Neither Nathaniel nor Chelsea had come to work.
Seeing Aurelia eat alone, Ted felt sorry for her.
He took away some of the food and kindly reminded her.
"Mrs. Heilbronn, this is for Mr. Heilbronn. It's not suitable for a woman."
Aurelia looked up in confusion. "Is there something wrong with him?"
Ted covered his mouth and laughed. "Oh, Mr. Reed hopes you can get pregnant."
Aurelia instantly understood Nathaniel’s uncontrollable desire yesterday. It turned out he had eaten special food.
She thought, 'As a young couple, we actually have to rely on these foods to arouse passion. We are destined to divorce.'
Chelsea came to work three days later. Nathaniel was also missing for three days.
That day, his assistant Zack called Aurelia.
"Mrs. Heilbronn, Mr. Heilbronn needs a document in the study at home. Can you bring it to the hospital?"
Aurelia hesitated and asked, "Can you come and get it?"
Aurelia didn't want to see Nathaniel and Chelsea. It would be very painful for her.
"Mrs. Heilbronn, I'm sorry. I'm dealing with something right now. I'm busy. You also know that Mr. Heilbronn hasn't come to the company for the past few days, and many things are difficult to handle."
"Okay."
Aurelia agreed. This really wasn't a good job.
She turned off her computer and left the office.
At the door, she ran into Amy, who was coming back from outside.
"What time is it? Are you off work?"
Amy looked at Aurelia angrily. She thought, 'She used to leave work on time. Now, she's starting to leave early. She's not following the rules.'
If Chelsea didn't come, Amy would be in charge of the design department.
Amy didn't like Aurelia.
"I ask you to copy the previous works of the Heilbronn Group. Do you do it? You're dull, so you have to work hard. Ms. Thompson has been absent these days. How dare you leave early!"
Aurelia licked her lips and thought, 'It's hard to deal with someone with a little power.'
She couldn't tell Amy that she was going to help Nathaniel deliver the documents, which would expose their relationship.
"I have something urgent to deal with now. I will come back to work later."
Amy snorted. "Are you the owner of the company? You can't leave early. Do you think you're Mr. Heilbronn's wife?"
Aurelia's phone rang again. It was Zack.
Aurelia smiled, "I really have something urgent to deal with. You can deduct my salary."
She left with her phone, hearing Amy shouting loudly behind her.
"Your salary is so low. Your monthly salary is not even worth one of Ms. Thompson's bags."
Aurelia ignored her and went straight into the elevator.
Nathaniel's documents were on his desk in the study. Chelsea used that desk when Nathaniel wasn't home.
Walking into the office again, Aurelia still didn't know how Chelsea got her design drawings.
She thought, 'Has she been to my house?'
She suddenly felt very afraid.
Zack was in a hurry. Aurelia took the documents and hurried to the hospital.
The moment she walked into the hospital, she began to think about how to face Nathaniel and Chelsea.
She thought, 'I'll put things down and leave immediately. I can ignore them.'
Chelsea's ward door was half open.
Aurelia was still afraid when she put her hand on the door handle.
She could see the scene inside through the glass.
Chelsea was in a hospital gown, leaning against the bed and looking affectionately at the man beside the bed.
Nathaniel was looking at her.
He was so gentle with her.
The ward was quiet and beautiful, and Aurelia’s appearance seemed a bit abrupt.
The scene in front of her made Aurelia envious. She envied Chelsea for having all of Nathaniel’s love.
"What are you doing here?"
The voice behind her brought Aurelia back to her senses. It was Maria Lewin, Chelsea's mother and Norman's second wife, who was speaking.
Norman and Maria walked over.
"You hurt Chelsea. Isn't that enough? What more do you want to do to this couple?"
Maria wanted to hit Aurelia.
Aurelia was very confused. She thought, 'Chelsea's heart disease is congenital. It's not my fault.'
"How do I hurt her?"
"You're a bitch! You're shameless! You hurt my innocent daughter and kind-hearted son-in-law. Because of you, they can't be together."
Hearing her say that Chelsea was innocent and Nathaniel was kind, Aurelia found it ridiculous.
It was the first time she had heard someone describe Nathaniel like that.
She thought, 'Look at the people who have offended him in the business world. He is definitely not kind.'
Compared to Maria, Norman was relatively calm.
"I just want to talk to her."
Before Maria entered the ward, she glared at Aurelia viciously. She wished she could kill Aurelia with her eyes.
"Aurelia, I want to talk to you."
"You disgust me."
Norman was very embarrassed.
"I'm your father. You may have changed your last name, but I'm still your father. You can't escape this fact."
"What do you want to say? You know I'm still investigating the cause of my mother's accident. I won't let you go. You're not my father either."
Norman suppressed his anger. He needed her help.
"Okay, I'll be direct. Can you divorce Nathaniel immediately? It's best if you divorce today. Please help me. Chelsea had a heart attack when she saw you flirting with Nathaniel. I don't want to lose her."
Aurelia looked at him coldly. She was a little surprised that he would ask her for this. Three years ago, when her grandmother was sick, she stood in front of his door all night, begging him to find an authoritative expert to treat her grandmother.
He did nothing, showing no care to his biological mother.
Now, this cold-blooded person was begging her for Chelsea.
They were both his daughters, but he loved Chelsea more.
"I can divorce. I want the Lake Villa," Aurelia said.
Norman was angry.
"Why are you so greedy, just like your mother? Be kinder to your sister. I let you divorce, and you want me to give you a villa? After you divorce, you can marry another man. If Chelsea leaves Nathaniel, she will die. You are forcing your sister to die."
"I have only one condition. You can refuse it. Let Chelsea die."
Aurelia felt that it was better not to divorce. At least Chelsea would be unhappy. She thought, 'Why should I make them happy? If I don't divorce, she will always be a mistress.'
Norman paced back and forth on the ground, pondering over Aurelia’s condition. After a moment, he walked over.
"Okay, I agree with you. But the house is now Chelsea's. When she recovers, she will give it to you. You must divorce Nathaniel. Can you divorce today?"
