Chapter 479 Feeling Better in a Slightly Tipsy State

Aurelia was stunned.

"Why'd you buy so much stuff?"

Nathaniel locked the door, tossed the bags onto the couch, and sat back down.

"More stuff means free shipping."

Aurelia thought, 'Does Nathaniel really need to save money on shipping?'

Nathaniel raised his glass and clinked it with hers.

"Aurelia, are you still good to drink?"

Aurelia rolled her eyes. Nathaniel chuckled.

"Come on, drink up. A little buzz makes everything better."

Aurelia wanted to smack him.

"How can you, a CEO, talk so shamelessly?"

Nathaniel turned to her, his eyes full of desire.

"Aurelia, it's been days."

The last time was at Imperick, the Bloom Villa. He had tasted the sweetness and wanted to hold her every night, waking up to her serene sleeping face.

"You... can't do this here."

Aurelia was genuinely afraid he might get carried away on the balcony. The kids could come out at any moment, and this kind of thing had to be foolproof. They couldn't let the kids see.

Nathaniel smirked, his plan succeeding.

"Then, let's go to the bedroom."

He downed the rest of his wine, picked her up, and headed to the bedroom, not forgetting to grab the newly bought items from the couch.

He carried her into the bathroom, and they quickly showered, their bodies entwined under the water.

Aurelia, feeling the effects of the alcohol, was bolder than usual. Her pale fingers slid down his throat, all the way down.

Nathaniel shivered.

Just as they were about to make love, Aurelia's phone in the living room wouldn't stop vibrating.

Aurelia had forgotten about the two private bodyguards Joe had sent to follow her discreetly. When there was nothing much going on, she would send them home after work.

Today, she had angered Phoenix's fans, and the bodyguards didn't dare to be careless. They watched her get into Nathaniel's car, followed her to pick up the kids from school, and then to Nathaniel's place, waiting downstairs for hours.

When Joe called to check in, the bodyguards reported truthfully that Aurelia had gone into Nathaniel's house and hadn't come out. The balcony light had been on, but now it was pitch dark.

Joe sped over, and the bodyguards were still waiting downstairs, unable to reach Aurelia by phone.

Desperate, Joe called Jacoba's smartwatch. After a few rings, Jacoba answered sleepily.

"Joe..."

"Jacoba, where's Aurelia? Why isn't she answering her phone?"

Jacoba rubbed his sleepy eyes, waking up a bit.

"Joe, we're sleeping at Dad's place tonight. Are you looking for Mom? I'll go get her."

Jacoba got out of bed, barefoot, and walked out, finding the master bedroom by memory. The door wasn't locked, so he pushed it open. The strange sounds from the bathroom puzzled him, and he remembered the teacher's lesson about personal body secrets and not wanting to be seen while using the bathroom.

He didn't open the bathroom door.

"Joe, Dad and Mom are showering. Maybe you should call her tomorrow."

Joe's mind went blank. Showering together!

"Are you sure Nathaniel and Aurelia are showering together? You didn't see wrong?"

"Joe, I didn't see. I heard them talking."

Joe felt uneasy and quickly told Jacoba to leave.

"Jacoba, go back to bed."

Jacoba, still curious about the sounds from the bathroom, lingered at the door for a bit. When he didn't see Nathaniel and Aurelia come out, he returned to his room.

"Joe, I'm going to sleep now. Do you need to tell me anything else?"

"Just close the door and stay out of Nathaniel's room. Go to sleep now."

Joe could only advise Jacoba to avoid things children shouldn't know about. He stayed in his car downstairs for half the night, waiting for Aurelia to return his call.

As dawn approached, Joe drove away, instructing the bodyguards to keep protecting Aurelia and keep those online threats away from her.

Nathaniel would protect her, but Joe felt heartbroken. His sister had been taken by a man, and it hurt more than losing a multi-million-dollar project.

The next morning, Aurelia woke up in Nathaniel's arms. When she opened her eyes, Nathaniel was already awake, quietly watching her.

She moved slightly, feeling discomfort, her legs heavy as if filled with lead.

Last night had been wild. She had drunk too much and couldn't remember everything, only that he was particularly passionate, holding her and kissing her endlessly, full of energy.

"Nathaniel, what time is it?"

Her voice was a bit hoarse. Nathaniel smiled.

"A little past seven. You can sleep for another half hour. Do you want some water?"

Aurelia shook her head, thinking about getting the kids to school. Her body was tired, but her mind was clear.

"Nathaniel, my legs hurt..."

It wasn't just her legs; her whole body ached.

During the last round last night, she had collapsed from exhaustion, not even wanting to shower, so she had let him clean her up. Under the covers, she was still naked.

Nathaniel's throat tightened, and the marks on his neck made Aurelia blush. If she hadn't woken up in his arms, she might have suspected he had been with someone else. How could she have done such a thing?

Aurelia sighed heavily. How was she going to work today?

She checked herself. Nathaniel was usually careful, never leaving marks on her exposed skin. They both had jobs and needed to go out; it wouldn't be good for others to see, especially for a woman.

Nathaniel smiled silently, his eyes filled with satisfaction.

"Aurelia, I think we should drink occasionally. It's quite nice."

He had a meaningful smile, hinting but not saying it outright.

Aurelia blushed. She had been too wild last night, and now that the alcohol had worn off, she felt embarrassed, unsure how to face him.

Nathaniel got out of bed and went to the closet, bringing her a full set of clothes, including matching underwear. He was already dressed, while Aurelia had slept naked.

Aurelia glared at him, annoyed.

"You got dressed yourself and didn't care about me?"

Nathaniel felt wronged. He had planned to dress her last night, but after cleaning her up and taking a shower, she had already fallen asleep, exhausted.

He had placed her on the pillow, and she had thrown a tantrum, hitting him with her arm. In that situation, he didn't dare move her, letting her sleep.

"Last night... You wouldn't let me move."

Aurelia sat up, wrapped in the blanket.

"Where's my phone?"

She had a habit of checking the news every morning, and after drinking last night, she had no idea where her phone was.
