Chapter 81 Mr. Heilbronn, Women Need to be Coaxed

Zack felt awkward for a moment, then quickly snatched his phone and hung up.

"Mr. Heilbronn, what should we do next?"
The contract was also signed, and Zack thought he could go home now. His sweet little wife would call him eight times a day, urging him to come home.

Nathaniel looked at Zack, who had been with him for many years, with a disdainful look.

"Isn’t it too sweet?"

Zack felt embarrassed. He had never expected to expose his deep fondness for his wife to his reserved boss in such an awkward way.

"Mr. Heilbronn, finding a wife is not easy, especially since men outnumber women in our country. If one is lucky enough to marry someone he likes, he should cherish her."

As he spoke, the phone in his hand rang again.

Nathaniel rubbed his forehead and said, "You’d better answer your wife's call!"

Zack quickly turned around to answer the phone. Since his boss allowed it, he was afraid that he would have a hard time after he went back if he refused to answer it again.

Nathaniel watched as Zack covered his mouth with one hand and lowered his voice to report his schedule to the person on the other end in a voice much more gently than usual.

He wondered what kind of woman turned his astute Zack into a man who had to report his schedule three to five times a day. He took out his own phone and checked it. Besides advertisements, there was only one message from Aurelia.

His own wife didn't seem to be doing anything. She was sound asleep when he left in the morning, and there was no message even after the plane landed. Now that he had been out all day, she hadn't even called him once.

Could she have forgotten she had a husband?

After the call, Zack put away his phone and saw the interface of the Facebook chat box on the screen of Nathaniel's phone. His fingers swiftly tapped on the screen, typing a line, deleting it, and then repeating the process.

"Mr. Heilbronn, it's not that complicated. Just write, 'Baby, what are you doing? I miss you!' and send it. Women are sensitive to language, and Mrs. Heilbronn will be pleased when she receives it."

Nathaniel immediately pressed the home button. "I'm not messaging her. I'm just asking about the results of today's competition in the design department."

Zack almost choked on his water. He clearly saw Aurelia's profile picture in the chat box, but Nathaniel was still being stubborn. Zack wondered how Nathaniel managed to get along with Aurelia at home if he always held such pride with him. If Nathaniel spoke in his habitually sarcastic manner at home... Zack supposed that no woman could stand it.

"Mr. Heilbronn, women need to be coaxed. If you coax them well, the whole family will be in a harmonious and active atmosphere."

Nathaniel's eyes were full of disdain. "I don't want to be like you."

He couldn’t always spout words like “darling, love you, Honey, miss you.”

Just the thought of it was hard for Nathaniel to accept. He could never say such cheesy words in his life; he just couldn't do that.

"Can your wife tolerate you like this?"

Zack scratched his head. The whispered conversation he had with his wife on the phone today was heard in its entirety by his boss.

"Mr. Heilbronn, don't make fun of me. If you like someone, you must express it, or she will not know. You have no idea how deep a woman's mind can be. If I send a message with one punctuation mark missed, she would overthink it."

"Ah, it is too much for me. It's better to be single."

Nathaniel's words left Zack at a loss for words.

"When are we going back, Mr. Heilbronn?"
Zack changed the subject.

Nathaniel was still staring at his phone, unlocking and locking the screen repeatedly.

"Mr. Heilbronn, if you miss Mrs. Heilbronn, just give her a call. Even a casual chat would be fine," Zack said.

Nathaniel glared at him. "I'm not that free."

Zack didn't dare to persuade him further.

"Go check on this person named Samuel. I remember from the form you gave me earlier that Coral Bay has the most people with that name."

Although Zack didn't know why Nathaniel insisted on finding this person, his intuition told him it was related to Aurelia.

In Imperick, Aurelia's right eyelid kept twitching. She thought, 'What kind of misfortune was about to find me?'

As it approached six o'clock, she saw the results of today's design competition in the design department. Her work was ranked last.

Aurelia was speechless as she looked at her phone for a long time. She looked at other people's work; she couldn't say they were bad, but her design definitely shouldn't have been ranked last.

Tiffany's message quickly followed.
Tiffany: [Aurelia, today's evaluation was unfair. Amy attached the designers’ names to their works. Your necklace was originally the highest-rated, but after the judges saw your name, it was pushed to the last place. It was intentional!]

Tiffany expressed her dissatisfaction with the message.

Aurelia: [Who got first place?]

Tiffany: [Ms. Thompson's ring design.]

Aurelia: [What happens to the work that gets first place?]

Aurelia had just joined the Heilbronn Group and was unfamiliar with the company's regulations, but luckily, Tiffany was willing to explain everything to her.

"Except for the last three places, all other works will be produced and sold in the official physical store of the Heilbronn Group."

Aurelia opened Chelsea's work. At first glance, it looked familiar, somewhat like a piece she had seen at a jewelry exhibition.

She did a quick web search and confirmed her suspicions. Chelsea's ring design was 80% similar to a piece that had won the best design award ten years ago. She remembered that the author of that work was Lucy, who happened to be signed under Swan, making her somewhat of a colleague.

Chelsea was clever, making slight modifications to a design from ten years ago. The oldest employee in the design department was in their thirties; most of them were in college ten years ago, and some were even in high school or middle school, and no one noticed that she was copying someone else's work.

Aurelia thought Chelsea was foolish. In the design industry, it was fine not to create trendy pieces, but the worst thing was plagiarism. Once a designer was labeled as a plagiarist, they were essentially abandoned by the industry.

Chelsea valued fame and fortune more than anything else, and her actions would eventually disqualify her from continuing to work in the industry.

She accessed Swan's internal company network and struggled to find and save the award-winning video from many years ago.

Chelsea was rushing towards her own downfall, and Aurelia would have to help her to get there quickly if necessary.

The next day, Aurelia ran into Chelsea in the restroom, who was touching up her makeup.

Knowing she was pregnant, Chelsea didn't even bother to pretend and went straight to the point.

"Nathaniel lets you come to work while pregnant. Clearly, he doesn't care about the child in your belly." Chelsea's gaze swept over Aurelia's belly unkindly.

Aurelia washed her hands at the sink. "He's just worried about me being alone at home. Bringing me to the office makes it easier for him to take care of me. He prepares lunch for me every day and waits in the office."

Chelsea's face turned pale with anger. She remembered a time when she had lovingly prepared a lunchbox and brought it to Nathaniel's office, only to see the man who had once promised to marry her having lunch with Aurelia. The scene felt like a stab in her eyes.

She threw away the lunchbox she had prepared all morning into the trash can and hadn't used her kitchen since then.

"Aurelia, let's talk."

Aurelia grabbed a piece of paper to dry her hands, casually asking, "Talk about what?"

Chelsea had been trying to ruin Aurelia’s marriage. Now that she took the initiative to talk, Aurelia naturally knew the conversation wouldn’t be a harmonious one.

Chelsea was anxious. Considering Nathaniel's recent change in attitude towards her, the discovery of Aurelia's pregnancy, and her sleepless nights, she was very eager to talk.

"Let's go to the coffee shop. It's not convenient to talk here."

Chelsea's look meant business. Despite their many hidden confrontations, she couldn't wait any longer to bring the matter to the forefront for negotiation.
