Chapter 304 Makeup and Styling

In the dark, she held her breath.

She wondered if the servants had said something they shouldn't have to the kids, making Jacob think such crazy thoughts.

Aurelia asked, "Jacob, do you know your dad?"

Jacob realized he messed up. He'd let his thoughts slip out without thinking.

He quickly corrected himself, saying, "No, I don't. I've never met him. Didn't you say he went to study magic?"

Aurelia felt a bit relieved but quickly reconsidered. Jacob was already more emotionally and intellectually advanced than other kids his age, so she couldn't let her guard down.

She was mainly worried that a divorced family might mess with the kids' heads, especially since Jacob had said such things.

"Jacob, do you want a dad?" she asked.

Jacob muttered, "I do. But I don't want a bad dad. I want one who can fight, throw darts, and be nice to Mommy!"

Aurelia couldn't help but chuckle. This kid must have been watching too many spy movies lately.

"Jacob, there's no one that amazing in real life."

Jacob blinked and said, "Yes, there is. Uncle Caleb can fight. He said he would teach me."

"What?" she said, surprised. Jacob had probably seen Caleb beat up that unreasonable parent at the kindergarten last time and had developed a liking for him.

Plus, in the car, Caleb had bragged so much that he had impressed both kids, making them think he really knew martial arts.

Aurelia said, "Jacob, Caleb learned Taekwondo. If you like it, I can sign you up for a class."

"Really? Will I become very strong and be able to beat up bad guys if I learn Taekwondo?" he asked.

Aurelia said, "If you study hard, you will become strong, but it's only for self-defense. I don't want you to act recklessly or use your strength for bad things."

Jacob grinned, "Mommy, I just want to protect you. If someone bullies you, I don't care who they are, I'll beat them up."

Aurelia felt comforted, saying, "Thank you, Jacob. When Mommy gets old, you can protect me. However, everyone has a father, you can't choose who your father is."

Jacob responded, feeling a bit down.

Why was he so unlucky to have such a bad father? Other kids had dads, but he would never have a complete family.

"Mommy, I'm sleepy."

Jacob turned over, not wanting to talk about this sad topic anymore.

Jacob soon fell asleep, but Aurelia found herself growing more alert as she lay there, thinking about how the absence of a father might affect the kids' personalities as they grew up.

She knew this from personal experience. As a child, she had always been timid and lacked confidence, even afraid to speak up when bullied by classmates. It wasn't until she reached adulthood and made a deliberate effort to overcome her personality flaws that she began to see some improvement.

She wondered if she shouldn't deprive the two babies of the right to enjoy their father's love.

The next day, Aurelia got up to take out the trash and saw cigarette butts scattered under the tree outside. She stared at them for a moment, thinking they must have been left there before.

Aurelia continued her design work today, estimating that with her current progress, she could submit her work soon. Her assistant Aurora was overseeing things at Coral Bay and would report any issues on Facebook, so things were going smoothly and according to plan.

In the morning, Caleb called.

"Aurelia, there's a charity gala tonight. Wanna be my date?"

Before Aurelia could answer, Caleb kept going,

"This gala's hosted by Sinclair Media, and a ton of celebs will be there. You wanna start your own brand, right? Perfect chance for some promotion. Plus, I'll introduce you to some of our top stars."

Talking about the company piqued Aurelia's interest,

"Do I need to prep anything?"

Caleb chuckled, "Nah, no need. I'll pick you up this afternoon."

"Okay."

Aurelia was about to call Joe to see if he could watch the kids when she heard the door open downstairs.

Joe had a key and came straight into the yard, carrying takeout and knocking on the door. Even though he had his fingerprint registered for access, Joe was always meticulous and knocked a few times before entering.

Aurelia opened the door with a smile,

"I was just about to call you."

Joe handed her the takeout. In the Semona Family, there were so many servants that she didn't have to do much, but he was genuinely worried that his sister wasn't eating well while taking care of the kids alone, so he often brought food from restaurants.

"Aurelia, heat this up and eat it later. What did you need me for?"

"I wanted to ask if you have time to watch Jacob this afternoon. I have something to do."

Joe poured himself a glass of water and drank half of it in one go,

"Sure, I'll take Jacob to the museum this afternoon."

Jacob dropped his toy and clapped his hands in excitement. Finally, someone had made time just for him. Joe was the best!

After lunch, Jacob's excitement was off the charts. He skipped his nap, clinging to Joe's leg, wanting to leave immediately. Joe couldn't say no to Jacob, so he grabbed a water bottle and snacks and led him out the door.

Meanwhile, Aurelia realized that a business suit wouldn't cut it for a charity gala, so she needed to get ready. But she didn't have any formal dresses here, just her everyday clothes.

Just as she was thinking of asking Ulysses for help, Caleb's call came in,

"Aurelia, I'm at your door. Ready to go?"

Aurelia said awkwardly,

"I haven't found a dress yet. Is there still time to buy one?"

"You don't need to buy one. I got one from the set. Just come out."

Aurelia quickly got ready and changed into casual clothes before heading downstairs.

Caleb was wearing a white suit today, looking fresh and clean as he stood outside. When he saw her, he smiled brightly,

"Let's go. I'll take you to get your hair and makeup done."

Aurelia thought he would just take her to a random makeup room, but upon arrival, she realized they were heading to Sinclair Media's top-tier makeup room, typically reserved for their elite talents.

Even someone as experienced as Aurelia was stunned by the setup.

The makeup room had mirrors on all sides, with various high-end cosmetics laid out on the vanity, covering every color she could think of.

It was indeed a professional media company, with all kinds of tools, even more comprehensive than a makeup store.

Caleb introduced Aurelia,

"Aurelia, this is Lori's personal stylist. He'll be in charge of your hair and makeup today."

Aurelia was once again shocked, and said,

"Lori? The national goddess Lori?"

Caleb said with a smile,

"Yep. Lori has an appointment today, so her stylist is available. Let's hurry; we still need to try on the dress."
