Chapter 125 Customized for Aurelia
The next day, as soon as Nathaniel arrived at the office, he heard a commotion.
The nineteenth floor of the Heilbronn Group building was usually quiet, and no one dared to make a scene in his office except Ashley.
"What are you doing so early?" he asked.
Upon hearing Nathaniel's voice, Ashley fell silent.
"Nathaniel, I like this dress. Tell Aurelia to order a new one. I'll take this one," she demanded.
The workers who delivered the dressturned to Nathaniel with relieved eyes. Ashley had given them a hard time before he arrived. She never knew how to restrain herself. If others didn't comply with her, she would say anything.
Nathaniel's gaze fell on the dress—pure white, simple yet elegant, matching Aurelia's style perfectly. It was dignified and not overly revealing, meeting his requirements.
Zack had found a good designer this time, to whom Nathaniel gave an approving look.
After admiring it, he remembered the unreasonable Ashley beside him.
"Ashley, this dresswas tailored to Aurelia's measurements. You are shorter than her and have broader shoulders so that it won't fit you," he explained.
Ashley looked so embarrassed. Nathaniel had once told her in front of her fiancé that she had a big face. Now, he was saying in front of the workers that she was short with broad shoulders. Seriously?
She was a prominent figure in the social circle, where high-society women valued her and respected her. She had her pride, and if Nathaniel's words got out, she wouldn't be able to hold her head high in front of those ladies.
Ashley was very angry.
"I don't care. Aurelia would definitely not mind, but you keep staying in my way. It's you who doesn't want me to have nice dresses," she retorted.
Nathaniel felt annoyed since his good mood had been completely ruined. Why did she have to provoke him so early in the morning?
"Go to Uncle Marcus's store and pick a few. This dress isn't for you," he said firmly, clearly fed up with her antics.
Ashley was most afraid of Nathaniel's stern expression, as it seemed like he was about to scold her at any moment.
She fell silent in fear. "Fine," she mumbled before leaving.
Ashley had a severe rebellious streak. If she couldn't get something from her brother, no one else could either.
She left in a huff and called Chelsea.
"Chelsea, let me tell you something. My brother has ordered Aurelia a beautiful white dress. I really like it, but he won't give it to me. I'm so pissed," she complained.
Chelsea grew anxious. "What dress?"
Suddenly, a scene flashed in her mind—Aurelia in a pristine white wedding dress, standing on a stage with the handsome and noble Nathaniel, exchanging rings in front of a crowd, both looking at each other with deep affection, saying, "I do" in their hearts.
This image tied her heart in knots.
"The Heilbronn Group is about to launch a new jewelry collection, the bracelet designed by Aurelia. I don't think it's nice at all. My brother ordered that dress for Aurelia to wear at the celebration," Ashley explained.
Chelsea felt relieved that it wasn't a wedding dress but was also so angry that she couldn't hold her phone steady. She had been avoiding the internet due to the relentless harassment and was unaware of the significant changes happening outside.
Aurelia had taken her place, and the junk Aurelia designed had become the flagship product for the new season at the Heilbronn Group. She thought, 'That woman doesn'tdeserve it. She is nothing but a design assistant who had joined the company a month ago. Why does she get this opportunity? Many designers at the Heilbronn Group have never had such a chance. Ultimately, it is all becaue of Nathaniel. Without him, she wouldn't have had this honor. She knew nothing about fashion or design at all.'
"Ashley, you have to help me. Aurelia played tricks on me. The jewelry that was supposed to be the highlight of the new season was mine. Now she's taken my place," Chelsea pleaded.
Ashley was incensed. "What? If that's the case, you should have told me earlier. I would have exposed her on the spot. She's too naive if she thinks she can bully my best friend."
Chelsea felt so wronged on the phone.
Ashley tried to comfort her but to no avail. "Forget it; let's talk in person. Don't worry. I'll help you vent your frustrations."
The two arranged to meet at a high-end coffee shop. Ashley arrived first and ordered two cups of iced Americano.
Shortly after, Chelsea arrived. She was wrapped in a headscarf and sunglasses, looking like a star who had just rushed out from a film set.
Ashley couldn't help but chuckle at her comical appearance. "Chelsea, what are you doing? Are you a star now?"
Chelsea glanced around warily before finally removing her headscarf and sunglasses and taking a deep breath. It was uncomfortable to be so covered up in a hot summer.
Seeing Ashley, Chelsea finally poured out all her grievances to her.
Chelsea was emotional. She recounted all her recent troubles to Ashley, blaming Aurelia for all the unfair treatment she had received. She believed that she had been pushed to this point because of that woman and vowed to make her pay.
Ashley listened with anger, ready to confront Aurelia immediately to stand up for her best friend.
"Chelsea, don't worry. We, the Heilbronn family, won't let that woman do as she pleases. I will definitely teach her a lesson. Otherwise, she'll think she can call the shots at the Heilbronn family," Ashley assured.
After feeling so aggrieved for the past few days, Chelsea finally heard some comforting words.
"Ashley, I only have you now. Nathaniel has been completely on that woman's side," Chelsea lamented, tears streaming down her face. She was heartbroken, suddenly overwhelmed by nausea. She covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom.
Ashley followed her quickly.
Chelsea retched violently. She felt extremely unwell; having eaten tacos for breakfast, the taste of beef surged back up, making her want to empty her stomach.
Ashley handed her a bottle of water. "Chelsea, calm down. Look at how worn you've become recently. Take care of yourself; if your health deteriorates, that woman wins."
Chelsea wiped her face, looking pale. Perhaps it was because she hadn't been out in the sun for so long; she seemed much paler than usual.
"Chelsea, are you okay?" Ashley immediately called Nathaniel with concern.
"Nathaniel, come quickly. Chelsea isn't feeling well," she urged.
Nathaniel was at the factory inspecting goods and overseeing the completion of the new flagship products that were being rushed out. Upon receiving Ashley's call, he was momentarily stunned, realizing that Chelsea was with her and feeling unwell.
"Hang up now and call 911 immediately," he instructed.
Zack, who was nearby, thought to himself that Nathaniel had finally acted rationally. Upon hearing that Chelsea was unwell, instead of dropping everything and rushing over, he instructed her to call 911 first.
Chelsea leaned against the wall, feeling better after a moment. Her heart was fine; she had just eaten something bad. There was no need to call 911.
However, hearing Nathaniel's words, not asking her to wait for him to come immediately but to call 911 first, made her feel incredibly uncomfortable. The emotional turmoil completely overshadowed the slight discomfort in her body.
All that was left was sadness.
She thought, 'Doesn't he care about my well-being?'
